After picking people's brains about the characters that they have played, already play, might play, and have thought of playing (which is still free to be answered in as you get new ones), I'm curious about the characters you'd like to play with and why.
Yes, I wonder about these things. Stop looking at me. >_>
I find it interesting that if circumstances had been sliiiightly different that we wouldn't have ended up with some of the characters we have now, and also that there were some shady backroom bribes going on for others. <_< >_>
This is not meant to make anybody feel bad about not following through with characters they thought of apping, nor is it to pressure anybody into apping characters that others would like to see.
Unless it is Squid. Then pressuring is a-okay! 8V /enabler
If, however, you do see somebody you like, feel free to give them some encouragement! Who knows? Someone might love to see that character that you were sorta-kinda-maybe considering apping, and that might help bring them up to a sorta-kinda level. That, or maybe somebody who might want to app someone, but is as loss as to whom, might pull some ideas after seeing the potential interaction and direction they might be able to take a character and will make a decision based on that.
Also, I am not putting a cap on the number of characters. I love walls of text, and if you want to see 100 different characters and you have a 100 different reasons as to why, go for it. I will almost assuredly read the entire thing.
Jess, this is where you can go into depth into what you'd like to see out of a Hot Rod!
Go nuts, people!
Luna, you are not allowed to mention Topspin. >_>

Uhm. I just want to see a G1 Hot Rod, really. Well, gotta say, bonus points if he's Marvel and still has Firebolt, although cartoon from after the point where he stopped being Rodimus might be interesting, if awkward. I tend to think I'd prefer a pre-Rodimus Hot Rod, though.

I would like to see an Autobot from Energon to tell Mirage that he's supposed to be a boat who loves Megatron. I want to see how many martinis Mirage will have to do to get the idea out of his head.
I would like to see someone play Marvel Skater. I'm a dork. >_> The guy gets one bit of characterisation, and we have no idea what his alternate mode or function are. Seeing a good RPer really flesh him out would be a delight. (I like to imagine that he's a courier and turns into a hover-skateboard, but that is purely conjecture.)
RiD Commandos. Particularly Mega-Octane, but I'd settle for any of them. Scourge does get lonely sometimes. They do actually have neat personalities of their own, particularly in the expanded text, but even in the cartoon, Movor enjoyed heavy metal and had tickets to a concert.
Some more DW people, because Shockwave and Mirage and Ultra Magnus and so on must be lonely.
Uhm. Battletrap, Carnivac, Catilla, Chop Shop, Flywheels, Octopunch, Snarler, Stranglehold, or Venom, preferably Marvel, because they'd all interact with Spinister in neat ways. Sometimes murderous, but neat. Also, the first time I read Catilla's storyline, I assumed he was a girl. Uhm. You would, too, if you saw how he was drawn and some of his dialogue. I think a player with a sense of humour could have a lot of fun with that and maybe with playing around with BIOS calls. Also, Stranglehold is a wrestler, and that is great.
G1 Cartoon Beta. It'd be neat to see her away from Alpha Trion, and it'd be cool to see her develop around robots who are both younger and older than her in different ways. And hey, maybe she'd get an alt mode, like, oh, a deer. >_>
More Mini-Cons. We had one, but no one ever figured out that you can wear them for power boosts. Particularly Dualor. Dualor acts like Emirate Xaaron, IDW Prowl, and BW Megatron had a baby.
Marvel Rack or Ruin, back when they were Cybertronian mini-jets, before they were fused together. I think that would be hilarious. I assume that one has the hammer and the other has the... spike thing, but that they'd actually each have one good hand.
An Autobot Marvel Micromaster with a bomb in his head. C'mon, call out Emirate Xaaron on being full of jetslag.
G1 Cartoon Defcon, played as someone who is really, really starved for social interaction and who is just so happy to be around people. (You see, people always try to play him as this stoic badass, but when you watch the cartoon, he seems about ready to hug Smokescreen.)
Some G2s. The Transformers need to hear about budding and WTF mightily. I'd particularly love to see a G2 Broadside, who can insist that he's a Firestormer, who was in Earthforce prior, who was a Survivor prior, and who hasn't been a Wrecker in quite a while! And what is with Grimlock? And people can tell him that he needs to stop strapping guns to himself, because seriously. Or Mindset. Or Rook, to confuse the other Rook.
Some more Elite Guard dudes. Sentinel Prime and the Twins must be lonely!
IDW Arcee, back when he was a dude. The other Arcees need to meet dudecee. Also, I want to see him be confused by people assuming he's a chick.
IDW Ironfist, Pyro, and Rotorstorm, just because they're cool. Seeing Pyro meet the Optimus here would be great (and yet more torment for Optimus, hah). ...actually, Pyro would probably weird out Ultra Magnus, too.
IDW Sunstreaker as a Headmaster, before he decides that he is evil for the sake of being evil. Preferably played by a player who wants him to keep Hunter as his head and who RPs Sunstreaker through working out some of his issues. Maybe Nightbeat could help with the whole Headmaster angst issue.
More Japanese Transformers. They're cracky love.
Marvel Thunderwing, back when he was an uncertain youth. Or heck, maybe post-Matrix and in severe need of therapy. To freak out all the Springers and Needlenoses.
Slog. Evil artists are great, and he'd freak out Duskwing.
I am sure that I will think of more people later, but I suppose that works as a preliminary start. If you want more of an explanation why on any of them, hollah at me, Vyn.
I do not want to see Topspin. I would prefer he be invisible, because I think an invisible pontoon boat could be freaky as heck. :v *Shot.*

I'd like to see BW Rampage and Depth Charge. Because awesome-looking transmetal unkillable Hannibal Lecter crab is awesome. And if you've got Rampage, you gotta have Depth Charge, to go all angsty Javert Batmanta on him.
Seeing Movie Ironhide would be fun. He has big guns and you can tell he wants to use them. And he wants you to see him using them. . . . Come to think of it, it sounds like he might be compensating for something.
Scalpel is a neat little character, and the Decepticons could use a (horrific) medic (with a German accent). I toyed with the idea of apping him as a psychiatrist at one point, so he could be Freud AND Mengele, but my projected roster is full THANK YOU VERY MUCH GOOD REFLECTOR. Goodness knows the 'Cons could use some psychiatric help.
I'd also like to see someone pick up BW Blackarachnia, so Tarantulas can do scenes with her, and we can find out what-all his twisted twistedness toward her is.
I want to see Alice from RotF as well.
P.S. Still waiting on Topspin

Hrmn. Well, I'd still love to see any of the Wrookies, besides Guzzle of course. Pyro and Ironfist preferably, and the latter espcially if he's pulled after a certain moment. Sniperceptor would be fun to have as well, if only to see everyone's reaction to him.
BW Ravage would be very, very fun to have onboard. I was a fan of him the moment that I saw him as a kid (didn't recognize him as the cassetticon though, oddly enough), mostly because of his voice. On that note, Rhinox as well, be it the normal Maximal version, his brainwashed Predacon state or as smart Tankor who's pretending to be stupid, but the latter two would probably be waaay to much for the Decepticons to handle. Evil Rhinox is terrifying.
IDW Hot Rod would be fun to have. I liked his characterization, at least up until Ongoing.
G1 Onslaught would be excellent to have onboard, for obvious reasons. Delicious magnificent bastard. Speaking of bastards: IDW Overlord. Someone, MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Not many others I can think of right now, sadly.
EDIT: That doesn't mean I can't edit this as I get ideas for more. >_>
WFC Trypticon. He'd be srsly HP, but I freaking love how he depicted in the game. Great personality and a different take on the G1 character that still worked very, very well.
TFA Waspinator. Wasp himself is a tragic character who really didn't deserve all the crap that he went through, and how everyone treated him. Waspinator has some serious potential, but sadly he only had one episode in that form. I would love to see someone take him on and play with that potential, and of course to freak out the BW characters. "Waspinator? Really? Hahaha, sure, no proble-HOLY @%#%".

I think Octane during his S3 stint as a political refugee with the Autobots (i.e., on the run from Galvatron and holing up with the Autobot for protection and cuddling with making friends with Sandstorm) would be interesting, especially if he showed up on the Autobot rocks. Given that he'd probably be hugging Rodimus and going "thank Primus you're here", only it's the wrong Rodimus...

RotF Lockdown as a plot character - namely, a serial murder/mutilator. The whole thing of attacking targets to take their desirable parts from them as trophies reminds me of Ed Gein. So a Lockdown that shows up and keeps to the shadows, periodically attacking both Autobot and Decepticon and becomes a rather tangible threat to everyone would be awesome, I figure.

I think it would be hilarious if someone apped some characters from the way past of Ani, like a Guardian, Malignus, Protecton, Protectobot, or Destron. Just imagine the culture shock!

for my five cents, I want to see G1 Warpath, TFA Starscream clones (the fandon sugesting the chick in SS finally explains Slipstream for me) and Rotf Alice
Added WFC Slipsteam
I forgot Shattered glass Ravage and Grimlock, especially Ravage

As a note, Shattered Glass is a Botcon continuity. Botcon continuities are not appable, due to the difficulty involved in getting the actual canon in hand.
>_> We have our own mirrorverse in DZ anyway.

Really, in Marvel, outside of Starscream, being a Pretender didn't seem to make the characters that much higher powered than just being a Transformer, claims aside. I mean, Bludgeon got more or less pwned by Kup at least twice in the comics. Granted, Marvel Kup is pretty damn bad-ass himself - not through any particular gimmick (he had a Targetmaster partner, but it really didn't even come up much - he was more prone to punching things than shooting, anyway), but just because he's Kup. So while Marvel Bludgeon would definitely be dangerous, I wouldn't label him as over-powered, and there are a number of characters in game that he'd fall short of. Meanwhile, a number of the other Pretenders would fall a fair bit short of him. From what I remember, in Marvel, the biggest advantages that being a Pretender brought you was accelerated healing while you were in your shell and the ability to remote control your shell while you were out of it, giving you, effectively, too bodies, and the second advantage carried with it a pretty severe penalty, too: damage to the shell caused feedback that was more painful than just equivalent damage while you were in it, and having your shell destroyed could knock you off-line (as it did Bumblebee).
Now, IDW Thunderwing? That's a different story entirely.

Poor Bludgeon always seemed to have the bad habit of bringing knives to a gunfight--Marvel, Devil's Due and IDW incarnations...
