Of course there is interest, though Perceptor is wrong to think it is that much different from the interest shown his Oracle and Synapse. Shockwave is drawn to those two because of the unique challenges presented by their physiologies and because of their possible usefulness. Sparring with Perceptor presents its own challenges- and its own traps to avoid. Perceptor is interested in more than discourse between equals, of that Shockwave is sure, and such interest can so easily be used against the Autobot. Provided, of course, that Shockwave can avoid the pitfalls inherent in such a manipulation.
He is rather confident in his ability to do so.
Light glints off the needle in his hand as Shockwave flips it once more. Perceptor has shifted rather close; it takes but the barest motion for Shockwave to try and rest the point to that needle so lightly on the back of Perceptor's hand, to trace the tiny seams that make up its armour.
"Hmmm, yes, the most engrossing subjects are often the most dangerous, the most worrisome, and at the same time can seem terribly tedious to the average mechanism." Shockwave lets his optic dim by a noticeable amount as he murmurs, "But you are quite correct. Such subjects are not appropriate for such a public gathering, where we are celebrating the end of a battle. In truth, there might not be an appropriate time, given our obligations and priorities."
Shockwave shifts his position slightly, still leaning against the post, but now just that much closer to Perceptor. "But there may be time, later, when we might touch upon the highlights. For example, I am intrigued by your realties lack of sparks. I am quite familiar with my own Perceptor's schematics, and so am interested in how much having a lasercore instead of a spark makes a difference in your systems' functions."

In most robots, a cube is roughly equal to a full tank, although deep tanks or better than normal energy efficiency tend to affect this. In Needlenose, one cube is also roughly equal to a full tank. However, since he doesn't burn energon to support his basic life functions, at any given time he tends to simply have more fuel in his tank already than most others do. The end result of this is that he is usually considered a 'light weight.' A single cube is generally enough to overcharge him.
He's had a cube and a half.
And they're 'enhanced.'
At this point, he's wandering around the party, dragging Spinister as much as he can, because he's mingling. Needlenose is glorious, after all, and it's only fair to share that glory with as many people as possible. At least until he heads off with Spinister.
"Why, hello, hello, hello!" he exclaims, sashaying up to Perceptor and Shockwave, a bit more sway in his step than normal. If Spinister allows it, he's occasionally leaning on the assassin.
Then, he takes in how close Perceptor and Shockwave are. "My, my, my! You two seem to be enjoying yourselves! Ensuring that interfaction, mmmm, relaaaaaashuns move smoothly, are we? Being embassadors of the cause, so to speak?"

Spinister has not drank anything. He is, however, carrying a nearly empty cube with the hand on the side that Needlenose isn't using as an intermittent support column. The cube will continue to empty over the course the night and be replaced by another cube, which will also eventually empty.
And yet, Spinister will still not have drank anything.
He does walk with a noticeable wobble to his step, and to anyone paying attention to him, it would seem to be quite genuine. His speech is just slightly slowed and slurred, as if he's a little buzzed but not much more. Even his optics are a bit glazed.
However, should a threat present itself, his optics will be keen and bright, his stance steady, and his reactions as sharp as ever.
Faking being buzzed may not be as amusing as actually being buzzed, but there was no way in the smelting pools he was going to drink around uneasy allies or drink around a batch of kooky chemists.
Spinister tries to tug on Needlenose's arm and murmurs,"Show a little more respect to Lord Shockwave and his guest." For his apart, he bows, somewhat shakily.

Perceptor's optics flicker and dim as that delicate point traces the tiny seams of his hand, rasping against the sensitive plating there. "It would be such a disservice to not find some means to appropriate a bit of time from out busy schedules in which to facilitate such an exchange," he murmurs. Such knowledge this one holds... Surely Rodimus will allow him Shockwave once they have turned upon these Decepticons. Perceptor wants so badly to plunder this one's memorybanks.
Visions of rapture - physical and academic both - are roughly interrupted by the arrival of a certain pair of gaily colored Decepticons who have apparently already taken much advantage of the... libations present.
"After such a successful venture as the shattering of your Autobot's base and routing of the mechanisms themselves," Perceptor replies smoothly as he turns to include the two, "it would be a shame to not further such an advantageous arrangement." Perceptor smiles and tips back a sip as a toast toward Needlenose.
"Celebrations are meant to be enjoyed," he adds to Spinister, indicating that no offense had been taken.

So easy it is to control this interest of Perceptor's, the drink and his own additives making Perceptor more pliable. Every shift of his body, every reaction noted and categorized. Perceptor dwells on thoughts of Shockwave as his captive lover; Shockwave dwells on thoughts of Perceptor as his willing aide. For if given free reign, Shockwave would twist perceptions, desires and loyalties until the Autobot was his, soul and mind, and glad of it.
At the Mayhems' approach, Shockwave does not move to shift away from Perceptor, or tuck away that needle. Let them think as they like; he will not play the newly online caught playing with fire. Shockwave takes in their inebriated state, and his headfins flick in annoyance. Annoyance smoothed just a touch as Spinister shows that he can maintain some sense of decorum even in such a state.
"Thank you, Spinister."
Perceptor's turn toward Needlenose move his hand from under Shockwave's needle, but still it is not tucked away. A nod, "Yes, celebrations should be enjoyed, and you have all earned your right to do so. We accomplished much, as Perceptor as said." That yellow optic flickers, "But there is much still to do."

"Lord Shockwave's guest?" Needlenose asks Spinister. "Lord Shockwave's guest!" He bows low to Perceptor and Shockwave, wobbles, and has to lean against Spinister in order to pull himself upright. He holds his cube up as though to offer a toast, and exclaims, "Forgive any disrespect, for none was intended. Merely, mmm, making conversation. Attempting to spread the merriment, if you will!" He looks around, antennae perked high, and something else immediately catches his interest. "I don't think it's spread quite well enough, however! If you'll excuse me, Lord Shockwave," he nods towards the gunformer. Then, as an afterthought, inclines his head towards Perceptor. "Perceptor. I should be off!" And with that, he attempts to wander in an another direction, provided his partial-support, Spinister, goes with him. OOC: Out of thread, unless I lose my Spinny.

Spinister is more worried about offending Shockwave than he is Perceptor, oddly enough, and he is right to worry. Shockwave's the one with a needle in one hand and a cannon for the other. Spinister is quite sharp enough to catch that flick of headfins, and he radios Shockwave, voice clear and contrite, not the slightest of static to his tone, //Lord Shockwave, funny how inebriated you can get off nothing.//
After all, Shockwave should be sharp enough to catch Spinister's drift, and there's no room for untidy surprise in that emotionless titan, no startle reflex that might betray Spinister's act.
Spinister shrugs in reply to Needlenose's vocal queries. Perceptor is not a Decepticon, and calling him 'that guy standing next to Lord Shockwave' would not only be wordy but rude. 'Guest' may not be entirely accurate, but it works.
Then, he moves to follow Needlenose off. Needlenose may think he's mingling, but Spinister is doing surveillance. It's lovely how that works out.

That near perpetual smirk never leaves Perceptor's features as the two Decepticons stumble off toward whatever has happened to have grabbed their flighty fancy. Their merriment is quaint, and it gives him ideas for future... experiments.
Now that the iterruption has moved on, however, where had they... Ah, yes. Shockwave's Perceptor, hmmm? Now... intriguing. Perhaps a little... too intriguing. Perceptor retains just enough sobriety, yet, to be wary of the upper hand that Shockwave holds. Too many upper hands, in fact.
That needle of his is much more dangerous now than it had been. Or, rather, Perceptor is now much more aware of just how dangerous that little sliver had the potential of being.
"Perhaps," Perceptor observes slowly, turning back toward Shockwave once more, but not, it might be noted, quite as close as before, "if time might be found at a more... appropriate junction, a comparison might be arranged. I am as curious about your possession of such as you are my lack."

Shockwave watches the Mayhems leave, and he gives another flick of his headfins, that same annoyed flick he gave on their approach. This one is deliberate, though. Spinister is a valuable asset. Later, perhaps, Shockwave might ask Spinister what information his little act helped him gather.
He turns his attention back to Perceptor. Shockwave does not miss that Perceptor is maintaining distance now- but not too much distance. Shockwave flips his needle once, twice, before tucking it back into a subspace pocket. As he does this, he slowly reaches forward and casually rests his fingers at Perceptor's waist. Shockwave's touch is light as he idly traces small circles on Perceptor's plating, and if the touches urge Perceptor closer, Shockwave will not complain.
"Perhaps...," Shockwave murmurs, "It is a tempting offer you have made me, though I shall have to think on the possible rewards versus the possible losses, and think on the risks" A glance at the Prime, "After all, you are not truly the captain of your own fate, are you, Perceptor?"

Energon, additives, and deft tactile stimulation melt into a single calming stimuli that urges Perceptor to relax into that hand at his hip, despite the tiny voice of reason urging exactly the opposite in the back of his processor. This Shockwaves knows too much, knows him too much - rather a reflection of his alternate - to safely allow such familiarity, but he wants so right now. Almost, almost he takes that step closer to sidle up against the Decepticon. Almost. Quiet words wash over him, and for a moment, a thin smile teases at his lips. At least until those final, too-knowing words register.
Those half dimmed blue optics flare to full intensity, perhaps a bit brighter for a moment, as Perceptor regards Shockwave with a narrow glare. Shockwave knows him far too well, even here, and Perceptor... still balks at his new chains, chafes at his collar. He does not wish to accept it. Will not accept it, and especially will not admit to it to Shockwave.
"No one owns me," he hisses, pulling back, putting space between them. He gives himself away with the intensity of his own fury, but fury it is. Mirage may think to goad him, and Perceptor must tolerate the street rat's jibes to a point, but not from Shockwave. The last dregs of his mostly empty cube vanish in a swift, fierce gulp, before the cube is roughly thrown to one side.
"No one," he growls again, his empty hand curling into a fist at his side. "Not even him." With a final glare, he stomps away, leaving the party and Shockwave both behind.
ooc: out of thread unless Shockwave does something drastic to stop him.

Perceptor's outburst of temper garners no reaction form Shockwave, and no move is made to halt the Autobot's departure. Tempting, very tempting, Perceptor is- but yet not tempting enough. When Perceptor is no longer addled by drink and drugs he may yet regret offering such temptation, regret piquing Shockwave's interest. For once focused, Shockwave's attention is not easily diverted.
He shifts his position a bit and returns to observing those gathered. There have been some departures while he was occupied, and some new arrivals. Most notable of those being a certain Guardian and his pet. Shockwave's optic flickers. He might need to investigate this situation.
