"It would not make me unhappy," Hook answers Omega Supreme. He moves to the front of the cage, gaze inevitably turning back to Mixmaster.

"True! But I have to say I prefer this way m-much, much more than yours," Mixmaster says to Omega quickly and without much thought. His gaze flickers back and forth from the guardian to the cage as the not-Hook moves forward.
Mixmaster steps back again, more than a little uncomfortable.
"W-well, if there isn't an-ything you want then I have-have to go. A-annoyed ge...team-mates m-makes it hard to keep vital parts intact, yes?"

Omega Supreme looks upward, at the starry night sky. He laughs, low and slow, almost lazy but laced with bitterness, like slow-cooked pulled pork mixed with cyanide.
He sighs heavily and replies to Mixmaster, "I guess I'll let you go, then."

//Omega?// Hook turns his head as the titan laughs, steps close to the side of the cage nearest Omega. //What's wrong?//
It shouldn't be like this. Laughter shouldn't be laced with bitterness, crystal shouldn't cage the Constructicon. They're together, they should be happy.
Except, they're still separated.
"Go," he orders Mixmaster.

Mixmaster is all too happy to oblige the not-Hook and hurries off without a (maybe one) backwards glance.
Those alternate Decepticons were quite the messed up bunch.

and Mixmaster's out, I think, unless stopped

Shockwave has been gradually moving closer to the Guardian and the Constructicons during the course of their conversation. Not close enough to overhear the subject, but close enough to keep a watch on his own. Shockwave has no intention of allowing this Omega to acquire a second pet this night.
As Mixmaster leaves, Shockwave steps forward, just enough to bring attention to his presence. He tilts his head, taking in both Omega and Hook in one appraising glance.
"Quite the odd bird you have caged, Omega Supreme."

//What's wrong? Everything. As usual. If you could turn a blind eye, I could open my hand, but your optics stay keen, and my claws stay clenched. It's how it always goes.//
Omega laughs and replies, "Hook's not a bird." For one thing, he has that manly crane arm. "Just a crane."

Shockwave. Hook tilts his face to look down at the other mech, wondering how this one differs from the mech he worked with. A sadist? A warrior? Emotional?
Not nearly as important right now as Omega is. //It doesn't have to be that way.// It's said softly, an oft-offered suggestion proferred once more, though Hook knows it will not be accepted. //After this, let me in. You're hurting.//
It doesn't matter that Omega Supreme keeps him caged. They were friends once, and there is no one else here to offer his old friend the succor of dextrous fingers unkinking lines and rubbing wires.

"He is more than a mere crane, he is a Constructicon, and the ones I have known would not flourish in captivity. It makes me curious as to why you have him so caged," Shockwave replies to Omega, though his gaze remains focused on Hook. Shockwave's tone and inflections are almost identical to those of his alternate, the main differance being a subtle confidence which runs through his voice. He shows no worry, no fear at being so close to the Guardian.
There is true curiosity as well, for Shockwave does not know the full history between Omega Supreme and the Constructicons, alternates or not.

Omega Supreme replies warily, //Let you in and let you what... do to me what was done to you? Don't think so.//
But he'd like to, sometimes.
Omega Supreme snorts a bit at Shockwave. Not a milquetoast, huh? He gestures to Hook and replies, "Well, if I didn't cage him, he'd run away, and I don't want to pop his tyres, break his legs, and tear out his anti-gravs."

//!!// A wordless exclamation of outrage echoes on the radio line betwen Hook and Omega Supreme.
The Constructicon turns and walks to the far side of the cage. He turns his back on the Guardian robot, staring intently out at the fading party.
//I would not do such a thing.//

Shockwave's gaze follows Hook. Something exists here between the Constructicon and the Guardian, something more than the dynamic of jailer and prisoner.
"But why jail him at all? If you wish to keep him alive and unfettered, and yet still be able to take advantage of his abilities, there are more practical options than carrying him about in a cage."
He moves as he talks, trying to shift around so that he stands in Hook's line of sight once more, "How long have you been caged, Hook?"

//No, of course not. You don't take what you want. If you would, you'd want me as I am, not as I could be.//
Hook can go ahead and turn his back on Omega Supreme. That's just typical.
Omega Supreme protests, "I don't want to put a bomb in his head!"

Hook is not speaking to you right now, Omega Supreme.
"Long enough, Shockwave."

Shockwave makes a sound entirely to close to a snort, "Nor would I, Omega. Doing so would involve too much risk and could well prove detrimental to the very thing of which you wish to take advantage. There are much better ways to insure compliance."
He moves closer to the cage, within touching distance if allowed. "But why?" he ask Hook, still curious. This Hook seems different, less acerbic, perhaps. Oh yes, Shockwave can think of many ways in which this Constructicon could be useful.
