"I'm making something, Mixmaster. Honestly, have you melted out your optic wires again? Is the high-grade interfering with your processing?"
Hook flinches at the flaming thing being shoved towards him, and grabs a metal pole to inch it back towards Mixmaster.

Shockwave's curiosity has been well and truly piqued by his observation of Mixmaster's interactions with the alternate Omega and his caged bird, and the subsequent conversations. The gun-former is not actually looking for his Constructicons at the moment, though. That is not to say that he will pass them by should he stumble upon them.
As he just has.
"Hmmm, always needing to be productive, aren't you Hook, Mixmaster?"
Constructicons plus high-grade plus tools plus materials equals trouble, nine times out of ten. It's the tenth time when they produce something brilliant that makes all the troubles worthwhile.

Hook is shoving Mixmaster's gift back toward Mixmaster. This makes for one very sad Mixmaster. "No, Hook, that's not what you're supposed to do." The chemist prods the half-melted metal, and watches the flame sputter out. "See, you're supposed to ea-"
Mixmaster flickers his optics and looks around when Shockwave speaks, curiousity turning to surprised glee when he catches sight of the gun former. "Hook! Look! It's Shockwave!" You know, just in case Hook hadn't noticed yet.
And what, exactly, does Shockwave mean by 'productive'?

"I'm supposed to do what with it, Mixmaster? There are only a limited number of verbs that start with that vowel sound, and none of them sound appetizing right now." Hook looks at the ten-foot pole he has in his hands, then snaps it in half and starts shredding one of the halves into thin strips of metal.
"Productive?" Is Shockwave really trying to apply that work to what they're doing? Really and for true?
"And yes, Mixmaster, I noticed. You didn't put any hallucinogens into my drink, I can tell." Because Hook would be sky-high by now if Mixy had.

"Would you prefer destructive?" Shockwave asks, waving his hand dismissively. "But no matter. I should be glad, I suppose, that you two have not found some hapless mech to 'improve and perfect.'"
Shockwave makes a point of stopping out of arms length of the Constructicons, then relaxes his stance. "You seem to have recovered from your conversation with Omega Supreme, Mixmaster. Perhaps you might enlighten me as to why he might be so attached to Constructicons?"
No beating around the bush for this Decepticon.

Mixmaster, who was going to prove to Hook the usefulness of his...sludge, freezes with a coated finger halfway to his mouth.
The chemist looks at Shockwave curiously, warily, and then lowers his hand. "He's O-Omega Supreme, yes?" Mixmaster says this as though he wonders why it even requires an explanation. He then tilts his head, consideringly, and glances at Hook, "admi-ttedly, he's an...odd one." Like that cage, and the Hook, and the not-squishing on sight.
There's a moment where Mixmaster looks like he's going to say more, but he doesn't. Instead he turns more fully to look at Hook, "are you sure there's no hallucinogen~?" He says instead.

Shockwave has directed his question at Mixmaster, therefore Hook doesn't have to answer it. Hook can instead concentrate on making connections with his new metal strips from one part of the thingy to this other part over here. That he hasn't finished building yet.
"Of course I'm sure, Mixmaster. I'm actually capable of answering your questions when you direct them at me." Also, he'd wondered if he'd imbibed them, then decided that wondering if he was hallucinating ruled out actual hallucinations. "Besides, you don't usually interact so seamlessly into my hallucinations."
A pause as Hook tries to find the words for the part he wants near Shockwave's foot. Eventually he gives up and settles for pointing. "Give me that."

"He is Omega Supreme, but the one I know does not have a fetish for purple and green. I must have context, else your answer is uninformative."
One headfin flicks back at Hook's "request," but Shockwave still bends down and picks up the part in question. He steps toward Hook, then goes down on one knee next to him before offering the Constructicon the part.
"Perhaps you might be more forthcoming about why their Omega keeps your alternate in a cage, Hook. What is between your gestalt and the Guardian?"

Hook gets clicked at by Mixmaster. Just clicked at.
His gestaltmate was not being a very big help, no. Not at all. "Maybe it's a special type of hallucination?" He suggests, only to become distracted and look back at Shockwave when the other Decepticon bends to get Hook's junk-of-choice.
He snickers none-too-subtly when Shockwave kneels down beside Hook. "Aww, Hook, look at that. Isn't he being s-so kind?" Mixmaster's watching the gun-former carefully, but he's determined to have his fun while he's at it.

Ah, the bit. Hook plucks it from Shockwave's hand, green fingers brushing against purple. Clumsy, Hook thinks muzzily but he's three amps too far past being able to grab something from someone's hand without touching them.
The ever-so-faint hum of Shockwave's systems that just barely vibrate the metal jolt Hook's painfully sensitive hand, making the grab even more clumsy as he fumbles to get his hand away from the cyclops.
"No, Mixmaster. Shut up, Mixmaster."
Hook turns away from Shockwave for several long moments while he concentrates on fitting this new part into his device. Then, quietly, "Crystal City."

Mixmaster's snickering garners a look from Shockwave. The chemist is obviously enjoying some private joke at Shockwave's expense. His optic flickers. That can be dealt with later, however. Hook is being entirely too clumsy.
Shockwave props his gun arm on his knee, then reaches out his hand and rests his fingers lightly on Hook's forearm. "You have been imbibing a bit too much, I think." There's no concern in his soft, even voice. He simply does not want Hook to accidentally harm himself- or others- while in this state. Shockwave does so hate cleaning up another's mess.
"Crystal City?" he asks, looking from Hook to Mixmaster, then back again. The closest thing in his reality would have been the helix gardens at Praxus. "We did not have such. Explain."
Touching w/ permission.

Mixmaster, probably with suicidal intentions, does not stop snickering.
When Shockwave touches Hook, it even gets worse. "B-but it's just so cozy, Hook. Here he is asking about your past. It's enough to make a 'bots insides get all warm and melty, it is." There is a big, happy smile on Mixmaster's face right before he dissolves back into giggles.
"Crystal City," he manages, sobering somewhat, "though m-more like the Crystal Junk-Heap now, I'd think."

"That feeling can be replicated with hydrochloric acid, Mixmaster. And you do not get to tell me that I have been drinking too much," Hook snaps at Shockwave as he tries to jerk his arm away from the cyclops without overbalancing himself.
"It was his city," he hisses at the cyclops. "We demolished it."

Shockwave makes an annoyed clicking sound when Mixmaster's snickering increases. What the chemist is insinuating also becomes clearer with those giggled comments. Are you really certain you want to put such thoughts in Shockwave's head, Mixmaster?
Admittedly, the thoughts were already there, more formed after Perceptor's attempts at seduction. Just because Shockwave does not see the need or logic in such things does not mean he never indulges. He merely chooses to indulge only when it might be advantageous to do so.
He does not stop Hook from jerking away, but Shockwave automatically moves to catch the crane should he become unbalanced. "Actually, I do, Hook. I'll not see you drink yourself into a stupor and perhaps do yourself ill. You are far too valuable."
Shockwave rises then, leaving the crane for the cement mixer. If Mixmaster thought Shockwave was close to his gestaltmate, then his current proximity to Mixmaster can only be termed an invasion of space. He reaches down and grasps Mixmaster's chin, exerting just enough pressure to force the Constructicon's head back and tilt his chin up to meet that yellow optic which is now only inches away.
"You are amused. I am not. What you are failing to understand, Mixmaster, is that the well being of both of you is rather important to me at the moment. An importance which has nothing to do with attachment, of any kind. So kindly cease harassing your gestaltmate for now."
He turns his head to look back toward Hook, though he does not release Mixmaster just yet. "That would explain why Omega would might wish to destroy you. It does not explain his attachment to your group. I am quite convinced that given the chance, he would try to add to his collection. And I will not allow that."
Again, touching with player permission.

It's probably a good thing Shockwave had acted about then, because Mixmaster was gearing up for another stab at the twos' proximity. And Shockwave's words, which would not have helped the situation. At all.
As it is, however, Shockwave has Mixmaster caught. The chemist squirms a bit, but the grin doesn't leave his face; not even when a sharp prickle of unease travels through his wiring and causes him to twitch.
"That wasn't harassment," he chimes brightly, "that was perfectly good bonding that just so happens to annoy Hook. It's not so hard to do, you know, annoying Hook. You should try it sometime!"
Mixmaster leans forward slightly, resting even more on Shockwave's hand. His optics are dim and sharp in amusement. "And are you really, really, truly that concerned? For whatever reason you may have, hmm?" He snickers again, "Hook! You make very strange choices in friends, you do!"
