Mirage shakes his head and sighs, "Perhaps you have been engaged in this long enough to see death as commonplace, but I have not. I do not think I could ever see it as such." Nor does he wish to do so.
He rejoins the others, "If you're going to fly him out, you can meet me at <coordinates near to an underground entrance but not too near>. We'll need to go on foot from there." Mirage doesn't like splitting up, but has to concede that it is the faster- and more strategic- option.

Spinister quickly tries to perform some first aid on Swerve's shoulder, using some pins to add strength to the damaged area. he asks, "Does that feel better? A temporary measure, to be sure, but doesn't sound like we'll be going too far. Should hold for that long."
Voice sober, he corrects Mirage, "Death is common, but it's never commonplace. Roger those coordinates." He pauses and looks over and up at Mirage. "Thank you. For trusting me. That has to be hard. I won't forget it."

"It feels fine," Swerve answers, shifting his shoulder enough to test its movement. Stiff and sore, but field repairs usually work that way in his experience. It could certainly be worse; he mightn't have repairs at all.
His rescuers seem to have reached an accord of some sort. He rather feels as if he's eavesdropping, so he does his best to tune out their conversation – their business is none of his, really, and his own thoughts on death have grown far grimmer over the past few days – and instead focuses on something more imperative: getting himself to his feet. His limbs are still shaky, relays responding sluggishly and tensor lines holding too slack; his movements are sloppy and heat-drunk. He deals with it.
It's almost harder to keep a straight face and lock away his frustration over the slowness and the strain than it is to force his legs under him and stand.

Mirage quips, "It was either trust you or shoot you, and garish though your paint job may be, it would be a shame to spoil the view with holes." A slight smile, then he sighs and shakes his head, "Trusting you is not the difficult thing. "Autobot" and "Decepticon" are relatively new designations in my time, after all." No. It's trusting Spinister with Mirage's own burden that is so difficult.
But Swerve is up an moving, albeit stiffly, and the spy really has no other choice at the moment.
"I'll meet you at the coordinates, and try to keep pace with you as best I can from the ground. Just in case." Mirage steps forward, moves to try and lightly clasp Swerve's not-as-badly injured shoulder, "And it seems I won't get dressed down too badly for taking you both beneath."
OOC: Looks like we're near a good place for a scene/thread switch. Want to timeskip to Mirage taking them into the underground base?

Spinister gives Swerve one last look over - the other injuries will have to wait - and he transforms.
Hairsplitter gather his armour in a hurry and piles into Spinioster's cabin - he can strap the armour back on in midflight.
Hairsplitter inside, Spinister hovers up slightly, to give Swerve enough room to grab a hold. He replies cheekily to Mirage, "Oh, but holes can be so much fun! There was this A-10 I knew..."
OOC: Yes please, to the timeskip and possible threadswitch.

Swerve gives Mirage a thankful, relieved look for that reassuring touch and takes the time to make his shoulder cooperate so he can pat the spy's hand.
"Good to hear," he says before stepping away to avoid leaving Spinister waiting any longer than necessary. It's enough that Mirage stuck his neck out this far already; at least he won't be getting in much more trouble for it. Swerve inhales a deep, bracing cycle of air before he tries to secure his grip, hopefully without causing much discomfort. "…Take care," he adds before fixing his gaze forward.
OOC: I'm good. Skip/switch away.

The trio manage to make their collective ways to the coordinates Mirage had provided and without incident. Though Mirage had almost been spotted by a blue sports car- one that looked oddly familiar. Later, when he has the time, Mirage will ponder on that a bit more.
The spy leads the others to one of the concealed entrances to the tunnels. Once they're through and out of the way, Mirage will set off a collapse, blocking this entrance. Just in case they were observed.
Better safe than sorry, after all.
OOC: mention of spotting Counterpunch ok'd by his player.
Cross-posted to Down in the Underground and I think this thread's a wrap.
