Though distracted by Sky-Byte's loudness and the sudden emergence of a plant thing, Long Range doesn't miss the shot fired from behind a rock a distance away. He can see its aimed at Sky-Byte, and while this isn't good, it does allow Long Range to return fire without having to do any dodging or other such aim destroying things.
Aiming at the mech that fired the shot, Long Range fire's three shots at him while advancing. He knows he's no Spinister or Eye-Fire, and is therefore not particularly optimistic about any of his shots striking home.

Skid-Z's reply does not come through, and Botanica has to trust that the racer caught enough of her message to make her risk worth the effort. And she's isn't making much progress- if any- at causing the big one distress. Bother.
She hears Sky-Byte's yell, and swiftly turns. Not much time to make a decision.
Rather than run, she adds height, swiftly rising up. Botanica waits till the shark is almost upon her before trying to toss a data spike straight into his gaping maw, and attempting to dodge to one side just before Sky-Byte would run her over. Still, she takes the bite on her arm, teeth scraping her skin and drawing a sharp cry of pain from the plantformer.
Sky-Byte might note that she has a flavor, and unfortunately for him, it is not cake. A bit too green.
Another spike, and this time she tries to drive it into the side of Sky-Byte's head.

It tastes....leafy?
Sky-Byte doesn't have the time to ponder and evaluate the odd flavor--he doesn't make a habit of biting into greenery--as he begins to clamp down on whatever he's bitten. It's a different from taking a bite out of plastic, metal, and paint (and also cake, of course), less...Autobot-flavored. It's mid-clamp that he realizes that there's something lodged deep inside of his mouth. Now that'd odd, he hasn't bitten the thing that deepl--
An audible 'urk!' squeaks out of Sky-Byte and his body gives a great twitch to the side as a current seems to run through him. What is it? Why's it there? (Sky-Byte straight on vision is extremely impaired during his chomp-charges). With a yelp, he twitches again, jaws flying open as he thrashes into the ground and narrowly misses Botanica's thrust to his head. It is fortunate that he doesn't actually need to breath or Long Range might have to rescue his commander from choking, but that doesn't stop Sky-Byte from gagging and wheezing beneath the sands.
Whatever it is, it's coming out. NOW. He bursts out from the ground again, twitching and yelping still, but he manages to grind out a "Sky-Byte, terrorize!" Now his jaws will become his feet, making whatever it is much easier to remove. But that does give a whole new meaning to 'perpetually having your foot in your mouth', doesn't it?

The sharkformer is huge, How could he MISS??
There's no time to try again though as a blast surges past his hideout. Shame for the cover, but at least he knew there was someone out there!
Before Long Range's second blast hits to shatter the rock, Skid-Z pushes down hard, springboarding away from impact zone. The third shot goes wide as he sprints straight into the opposite direction. If the Decepticon was hoping to flush out a turbofox, he's only right about the speed with which this unit moves. Without hesitation or slowing down, Skid-Z aims his gun, letting two blasts fly: one for the head, one for the feet.
Fire, sprint, repeat, look for cover, keep an optic open for the other two. Well, at least keeping Long Range off Botanica's back can be considered helping, ain't it? One sure hopes so.

The shot aimed at Long Range's head misses, instead striking one of the artillery barrels behind him and putting him slightly off balance and temporarily halting his inexorable advance. The second shot strikes him in his legs, but does nothing more than blacken the armor where it struck.
Once he regains his balance, Long Range continues advancing on Skid-Z, though he doesn't expect to actually catch up to him he can certainly try to keep the carbot's attention off Sky-Byte. To this end, he fires three more shots at Skid-Z, all aimed at his torso.

Sky-Byte's momentary retreat buys Botanica just the time she was hoping for. Checking Skid-Z's position, she swiftly transforms, deliberately moving more out into the open.
//Sta- white noise behind-bzzzk!//
Chain lightening is a tricksy thing, and she is not aiming for the shark, but for the behemoth. Hopefully, the attack will still arc and catch Sky-Byte, because Botancia is holding this attack on the artillery piece as long as she can.
Long Range can bring the rain, but can he ride the lightning?

Ridiculous anime luck? Maybe?
Sky-Byte completes his transformation and immediately sets to work on pulling that irritating, spasm-inducing ---pop---thing. Stretching up, he surveys the situation. Well, it looks like Long Range has some trouble of his own to deal with. Fine then, Sky-Byte can deal with this plant by himself. He pauses to check again on Long Range's distraction and stares with a slight twitch to his brow (this time not induced by Botanica's energy spike) at the sight of a familiar white, teal and magenta form dodging through the desert. "What?!" Skid-Z?! When did the Autobots get more individuals from his world? Well, it could be worse, it could've been the Decepticons getting more of Scourge's group....
Movement from Botanica's direction reorients Sky-Byte's attention to this strange plant creature. This strange plant creature which is being aided by an Autobot? "You don't look like any sort of Autobot to me." He scoffs. "Tsunami Blast!" Sky-Byte barely gets his attack out when Botanica's lighting attack heads his way. But it's not all at him? For a moment the sight of Sky-Byte being hit by the electricity is almost comical. The next moment, he tortuously transforms. The whole process is slow and full of various alerts and protests from his system, but Sky-Byte makes a concerted effort to dive back into the ground when it is complete.

Skid-Z would almost applaud himself for doing a good job not getting hit.... untill he strikes loose sand and faulters. Long-Range's first blast is dodged, his second shatters the ground behind him, while the third surges his spoiler clean off and straight into a solid rockformation. A cry mixed from pain, shock and sorrow alike escapes Skid-Z as he himself hits the ground, dirt and rocks raining down on him from the blasts that have missed.
He barely even registers Sky-Byte's exclamation when he pushes himself up, optics flaring red when they lock onto Long Range. Botanica, however, strikes before he can. He'd be slagged if he wouldn't make good use of this distraction!
"Skid-Z, transform!" Autobot cries out, changing into a -mutilated- racecar. Out here in the sand, he can't drive fast enough for it to be usefull as transport, but he's not going to get away....
Front wheels lock with an audible click, Skid-Z kicks in his turboboosters, the sheer lack of a spoiler no longer directs air into a smooth flow, but utter chaos. His tires grip into the sand, yes, his systems do protest and his tail burns, but he pushes on, pivoting around his center faster and faster with each turn. As sand is pulled along, pushed around, arcs growing wider and wider, they bind to create a cylindrical, moving wall of sand.
Otherwise known as a sandstorm.

Long Range never even sees the electricity arc towards him, his attention focused at keeping Skid-Z at bay / ripping him to shreds if he gets close enough. The first he knows of it is when he feels as if he's been dumped in molten metal as as the electricity crackles across his body, damaging systems and shorting out others. The first to go is his vision, leaving him in utterly blind.
He flails his arms as his vision goes, taking a few stumbling steps back before he realizes whats going on. He hopes this is temporary, otherwise things have just turned very, very bad.
//Sky-Byte, I've been blinded. I can still fight, but you'll have to give me the enemies exact co-ordinates for me to do any good.// He transmits.

Holding this attack is a strain under any circumstances. Holding it against one such as Long Range, without multiple targets to help fuel the lightning...Botanica is hurting. And rapidly running out of strength.

Deep below the sands, Sky-Byte attempts to shake off the effects of Botanica's lightning attack. He'd stay there longer to coordinate some form of attack but Long Range's radio call reaches him before such a thing can happen. Sky-Byte pokes his head out of the sands. What he sees does not look good.
"Sky-Byte terrorize!" A flurry of warnings and errors fly across Sky-Byte's vision...and nothing changes. "Terrorize!" Still nothing. Blast it! The--the plant bot's attack must have short-circuited something. Alright, so he'll have to do this the old-fashioned way: with just his teeth...and a blind artillery mech.
//I'll take care of the plant. You fire at...// Sky-Byte pauses. Pinpointing Skid-Z in the mass mayhem of his self-made sandstorm is not easily done. But he manages to spit out some rough coordinates: //...there! [coordinates given]. // If Long Range's shell doesn't at least hit the Autobot, the explosion of sand and rock nearby might disrupt Skid-Z's activity enough to get a proper glimpse of his location.
Now though, Sky-Byte focuses back on Botanica. Below he goes again, this time aiming to surface just below her tail-first with a great body slam.

He would happily stay put spitting out tornado attacks from a safe distance, but just because Skid-Z *created* the sandstorm isn't saying that he owns it. Without warning, the ground is sucked away, taking him with it. He manages a very high-pitched "Slag!"
Sky-Byte's glimpse comes sooner than expected, but is it wanted?: the car is spit out violently in the shape of a silver, screaming bullet to -by sheer luck- crashland into a dune. Red brakelights and the minute its taking before any response goes out testify that his tilt-sensors are trying desperately to recover.
Right side hurts when he transforms, the remains of a rock left a serious gash.... but he is without time to do a check-up, not when there are hardly any alarms flashing, not when the tornado is following suit.
The three other bots... correction as Sky-Byte digs in, two other bots are right in between.... And Skid-Z wouldn't recommend this ride. //Botanica! Move!// He blasts over the radio, "Move it!" To ensure that she gets out of the way, he dashes down the hill, half running, half plowing through loose sand.

With the stream of electricity striking Long Range lessening, he's able to tun awkwardly and fire through at the co ordinates given him through gritted teeth. He of course has no way of knowing his intended target has moved.
He hopes Sky-Byte can take out or at least stop Botanica quickly before her lightning shorts another system. He would dread having his transformation cog kick in and then fry while he's in artillery mode.

The big one isn't dropping, and Botanica can't hold the attack any longer. At least not if she wants to be of any use in the coming confrontation. He body sags as she stops the lightening stream, and she transforms automatically back to her plant-self. Defense mechanism that- it's easier to draw strength from alternative sources in that mode.
Skid-Z's warning registers, but late, and her only option by the time it does is to dive. This, unfortunately results in her diving straight into Sky-Byte's attack right before he surfaces. They both shoot back out of the sand- and into the whirling dust devil.

This. Is. Ridiculous.
Sky-Byte would be thinking these thoughts with much more vigor and vehemence if he wasn't currently spinning around a stinging, spinning funnel of sand with a crazy plant lady (oh and he hasn't even met Botanica's counterpart yet).
// Don't -crackle-oot at the funnel anymore! Don't shoot! //
One can might barely hear Sky-Byte frustrated howls above the scream and shush of the sand. Oh he might be in this situation, but he is definitely not alone. Oh no. Blindly, Sky-Byte snaps out with his jaws, aiming to get a mouthful of Botanica, or destined to retrieve a mouthful of dust.
