In the rear of the repair area, Perceptor is just running the final diagnostics on the Catapult Device when Synapse' transmission registers. Like a hound catching scent, he head comes up, optics wide, as he glances around warily, murmuring Shockwave's name.
And then hell erupts where the others have been left exposed further out, where Optimus is still receiving repairs to exposed systems, and Grimlock... Grimlock is minus significant portions of his armor. He is torn; he cannot leave the Catapult unguarded with Shockwave near, and yet, he cannot leave his friends to fend for themselves. Long Haul kindly begins resolving some of that conflict for him when he calls out that he will be attempting to bring at least Optimus back to the more sheltered area.

Optimus tries to bring himself to his feet, but decides against resisting when Long Haul grabs him and escorts him away from the fray. All the same, he's glad he's got his axe (His toy! His toy!) on him. He follows Long Haul away from the immediate danger.

Proving that Starscream doesn't always have to argue with Shockwave, he jets towards the co-ordinates Shockwave has given. Hmm! A Dinobot. A very, very weakened dinobot. Missing vital plate armour. Very vulnerable. When Starscream defeats the invincible Grimlock in battle, these matters of weakness and vulnerability will be omitted. No need to dilute the impact of the tale with unimportant details.
He spots the tiny Optimus Prime that others mentioned before. He's extracting himself but that doesn't stop his taunting. "I wonder, if I tear open a small Prime, will I find a small matrix?" And sends a laser barrage on the ground, aimed mostly at Grimlock but anyone else near him too.

Botanica's first instinct is to shield her patient, even while she curses a blue streak that would make Rattrap proud. The thing is, Grimlock is technically her patient too; it just isn't his turn on the table yet.
“Go!” She snaps to Long Haul when he declares his intentions, and even as she does that she’s moving, darting around Grimlock to see what they are dealing with. Just in time for Starcream to make his attack run.
Just in time to get hit. Twice.
One blast goes through her shoulder, turning her into another shot which burns through her lower abdomen. It doesn’t take her out, but the shock and pain are enough to take her down for the moment. Still, she tries to push weakly at the Dinobot, “You can’t…too vulnerable.”

Distractions are wonderfully things, mainly in that they are exactly that. They pull most everyone’s focus to the one point, while the other goes largely unnoticed. It is a tactic Shockwave has made a point of using quite often and well, though not so much on the battlefield. At least not lately.
He does not expect to come upon the group without warning, of course. The Autobots do have that high-altitude scout, after all. But people behave in predictable patterns. Starscream does not pass the chance to take out a wounded Dinobot. The medics act to shield their patients, resulting in confusion, and in injury. Shockwave’s gaze wanders over the organic-looking creature for a moment. Not so organic looking, this close, though. But she is not his target at the moment.
“Greetings Perceptor, Long Haul. And well met Optimus Prime.” Shockwave looks a bit worse for wear, but his cannon looks perfectly functional, though it is not pointed at anyone specifically. Yet. “Shall we have a little chat, or are you going to do something foolishly heroic and typically Autobot?”

Wreckage is not in the main attack radius. This does not mean he isn't one of the defenders even if he seems to be failing miserably at it.
The shells scream in and tear the earth apart, throwing repair into chaos. Wreckage reacts too slowly to do anything about them, but Starscream incoming… he sights the familiar blue, red, and white jet and freezes for a split second. Is this his Starscream, or….
His Starscream would never fire on injured allies. That answers that question. Wreckage doesn't have time to charge a decent shot from his cannon, but he fires a warning shot anyway while he draws his arm weapons and locks them into place

A small green dot is hurtling down from the blue skies.
He probably is not too visible yet, but at a certain altitude, the green dot expands in transformation.
High above the triage, Synapse falls in robot mode and has his blaster aimed. Sights centered on a certain purple and beige Decepticon tank, the scout opens fire.

Blitzwing, satisfied that his barrage has done enough to sow discord amongst the Autobots what ever of their allies may be there, leaps skyward and transforms. Of course, he does this just at the right time to be struck on the back by a blaster bolt, nearly causing him to veer into the ground as the bolt knocks him off course.
Managing to correct his sudden dive, Blitzwing manages to quickly turn around and spots the small green irritating thing that just shot him. "That was pathetic." Blitzwing says simply and without any emotion as he himself screams towards Synpase, launching 2 of his heat seeking concussion missiles.

Red launches into the air, transforming swiftly before landing midcrouch. Horns fold, wristblades slide out to where they can hurt someone. A more than ready slagmaker cannon lifts up to face the sky, aiming as fast as the wielder is confident.
"Slaggin' pitstranglin' virals!" Said bearer growls strings of obscenities unashamed as he begins a counter attack to the jets.

Oh geez.
Oh no.
Oh, what horrible timing.
First, Synapse's radio call.
Then the whistling, and the panicking Grimlock.
Then the shells hit, knocking the hickbot onto the ground, his scant armor getting dented by falling rocks and debris. Shakily, he gets up, clutching his shotgun for dear life as he watches Long Haul retreat back with Optimus.
And then Starscream shows up, showering down lasery death upon them, wounding Botanica and Grimlock. He manages to get Boondocker as well, a number of holes being peppered over his torso. Boondocker cries out in pain, falling on one knee. He uses his gun to support himself, cycling air fairly quickly. The desert is warm enough as it is, getting shot with heated lasers isn't much help.
Panic floods his processors, and he nervously glances around, not sure what to do.
So...in a moment of fear, he scrambles to his feet, and runs off toward the more sheltered area, screaming and trying to avoid the laser fire.

Grimlock stays where he is once Long Haul and the Prime are gone. After all, Botanica is still here.
...and Starscream is here now, too, and the rain of laser fire hits Grimlock in several places, rattling loose more armor, as a few more plates fall away, making Grimlock sink to one knee, hands on the ground, almost in a protective huddle over Botanica. Then, she protests. "Nnng...Plant-Lady more important than me, Grimlock. Plus...me Grimlock hate Starscream, and have problems following orders..." he manages out, somewhat raspily. With that, he pushes himself back up, though hunched. The dinosaur head hanging off of his back ratchets up, opening its maw and unleashing short, compacted blasts of fire in Starscream's direction. "Plant Lady need to find cover. Me Grimlock distract Starscream. Or try to scare him off. Him big chickenbot."
So, Grimlock openly taunts the Air Commander over the General band - //Raargh! Stupid Starscream! Stop being coward and fight me Grimlock face to face!// Grimlock then supplements his fireblasts with thrown rocks, pieces of equipment lying around, and even some bits of his own armor that have fallen off. His aim is terrible, so he more than likely won't hit, but if he fills the air with enough obstacles...

Oh, look. It's attempting banter. How quaint.
"Stop throwing things at me so that I can comply with your request then, you backwater brute!!" Starscream yells back at Grimlock. Some of the debris hits him without particularly damaging, but there are parts of his fuselage that are a darker shade of gray compared to what they once were due to the flame assault. This sadly makes it difficult to dodge the blast from Ramulus.
Angrily, he transmits a direct radio frequency to his fellow nearby Decepticon. //Blitzwing! clear the skies for me!// Somehow he doubts the triple-changer will have an issue with this order.
Starscream fires a few null ray blasts on low charge. They aren't going to do more than sting and make some systems feel sluggish. Oh, and taunt Grimlock, of course.

"All of us are equally important, you...stubborn oaf,” she counters, though her tone is not as sharp as her words imply, “And I don’t leave my patients.”
That said, she is hurting. Though she never had the issues with transformation some of her fellows did, it still requires concentration for her to shift forms. She’d managed a transform after being wounded at the base battle, largely because the wound was superficial. The shoulder wound is not the problem; it is the wound in her abdomen which is leaking a much darker fluid that gives her pause. The location…the damage…that wound will be present in either form.
She manages to pull herself under the makeshift worktable and starts to work on calming herself enough to transform. “Here!” she hisses, breaking off a few of her data spikes and shoving them out towards Grimlock, “Toss these at the slagger!” Mayhap she can help a little, if the spikes find their mark.

Wreckage should stop Boondocker. Wreckage should protect him. But Wreckage is falling into that place that terrifies him and he cannot drag himself free enough to feel concern for the equally terrified Autobot. His weapons are locked in and armed, his help is needed, and he is in the thick of battle. He cannot spare the time to feel when he must act, and so his emotions shut down.
He charges back toward triage, cannon powering up to full with a whine that's quickly drowned out by the roar of twin machine gun fire as he tries to cover Grimlock and Botanica.

Blitzwing is not too far off with his 'green, blue and puny', but 'puny' has its advantages as well as having been the eye in the sky this whole entire time. So when Blitzwing takes off of the ground, Synapse is not too surprised.
With a quick snap, the scout transforms, only, he goes the opposite direction in which one might think he should be going. With a speed that would be shocking to anyone that doesn't know of Synapse's gravity-escaping space-capabilities, he zips right towards Blitzwing's direction, taking an arcing detour to dance and twirl around the missiles---said missiles do follow suit though and go with Synapse in a zig-zagging path back to their owner.
