Emirate Xaaron arches an optical ridge over Kup's account, and he says lightly, "Swerve's definitely ill."
Kup's possessive, isn't he, insisting on going it alone? Emirate Xaaron chooses not to remark on the matter, but he does make a mental note of it. He simply remarks, "Thank you, Kup. I do appreciate you finally bringing this matter into the open."

Sometimes Kup is possessive, but Kup also tends to approach life with a, 'You screw up, you make it right,' mindset. That, and going into this with two people on the 'opposition' might seem more intimidating - something Kup can be unintentionally too-good at on his own!
The veteran inclines his head faintly. "Arright, then. Erm, while I'm here, is there anything you need from me?"

"Oh, plenty of things that I need, more that I want, but for now, this will suffice," Emirate Xaaron replies, waving a hand dismissively and looking back to his bills.
Then, he looks up and tries to catch Kup's optics, adding, "But speaking of having the whole truth, one way or the other, I'll have it from you, too, when you're up to it, about why you came back acid-washed the one day."

Oh, yeah. Kup still hasn't properly even fixed that yet, has he? It takes Xaaron's words to remind him of this... which is probably a good thing. He smiles faintly, tiredly, but the smile will have nothing to do with his optics, staying strictly around his mouth. "Yeah. I... s'pose I can go through that now, actually, if you want. 1" 1 Although, as Xaaron's player was there for the whole business, I'd like permission to do a 'summarizes the events' sort of cop-out.

A smile will never hide lying eyes. No wonder Kup's taken so long with a report about the matter. Emirate Xaaron prods, "Please do," now watching Kup intently again.
OOC: Permission granted. Just so I have things straight, events go something like: The Hits Keep On Coming Confessional (second thread with Swerve and Kup?) This Is Bad But Blasted If We Can Justify Why (Kup gets his paint fixed sometime here) Wrecker on the Rocks: Shaken, Not Stirred The Cure For a Broken Spark

Kup nods. He removes several folders from subspace - as he was considered the investigator and Spinister his assistant, he got to keep the case files (and he got to keep the files Mother Theron gave him because Singe is too small to stop him) - and lays them out on Emirate Xaaron's desk. Then, finally, he actually sits down, fully letting his exhaustion show. He sighs, and begins, relaying the events that begun with "A Cold Case of Nerves," continued on through "The Sound of the Underground," and finishing with "Into the Grinder."Emirate Xaaron may indeed understand why it's taken so long to make a full report. OOC: I was thinking 'This Is Bad But Blasted If We Can Justify Why' was before 'The Hits Keep On Coming,' but otherwise that looks right.
... Good lord, Kup is busy today!

Emirate Xaaron listens along to Kup's accounting intently, but despite being a good listener and paying careful attention, he mostly ends up confused. Of course, Kup's not done yet. Maybe it'll make sense then?
He observes wryly, "Perhaps not a tale for the young bots. Spinister's actions are peculiar. I have to wonder why he..." Emirate Xaaron trails off thoughtfully and then waves a hand, indicating for Kup to continue.
Little does Emirate Xaaron know, it only gets stranger and more confusing from here.
OOC: Ah, okay, that makes sense. And yes, he was!

Kup shakes his head. "Naw, not really, no." However, if Emirate Xaaron were hoping for everything to be made clear, he's destined to be disappointed. Kup finishes the tale with a summary of his part of "Pieces of You," and then shakes his head, slumping. "I... I should have taken him out when I had the chance. It might have tickled him to be able to stand on the moral high ground, but we both know he's a killer. At some point, he's going to take out one of ours, and then... then..." The veteran trails of, lowering his head. "I know better than that, damn it!"

"I'm not sure that's why he did it," Emirate Xaaron speculates. "That might have been what he said, but I wouldn't put it past a Decepticon to be playing some other angle."
What angle could Spinister possibly have where Kup is better off alive than dead, however? Worrying.
He speculates further, "I suspect you were being benchmarked. It strikes me as too coincidental that two Transformers with opposite marks would end up teamed together and be asked to jump through so many hoops. Solving the case was incidental. Someone just wanted to see how you'd perform under duress."
It's just a guess, but if it's right... Emirate Xaaron regrets putting his species under this particular microscope.

"Maybe," Kup answers, frowning and rubbing his chin. "Well, probably," he admits. "I was thinking it was just that we were both new, and they were seeing the new guys as more expendable and less likely to already be mixed up in the whole mess." He starts to push himself out of his seat. "Anyway, I guess I should head back, now."
After all, he's still got a lot to do today!

"If it was just you and some alien or just Spinister and some alien, maybe, but... the two of you? When you don't even know who really funded the whole affair?" Emirate Xaaron points out mildly. "This is Pz-Zazz. Follow the money." He heard that somewhere.
He waves and bids farewell with, "Have a good cycle, Kup."

Kup dips his head, "Yeah, you're right. I'll see what I can turn up." He turns and heads out. Nothing more to say, after all.
But he still has a long day and a lot of work ahead of him, it seems.
OOC: End?
