"Surely it isn't that bad being part organic?" Tarantulas asks. "If anything, it's a step up," he says, opening a drafting program and starting to assemble a rough outline of Waspinator.

No Disassemble!
Waspinator arches one optic ridge at Blackarachnia and quirks an antenna, she was certainly a lot feistier this time round, he was wondering if the nice act had been 100% slag instead of merely 99% slag.
“Wazzpinator got it”. There was a certain amount of respect in his voice, now was not the best time to make enemies with his body on the table the way it was. Sure he wasn’t about to give anyone the opportunity to extinguish his spark in any manner, he wouldn’t put it past some of them to make an opportunity for themselves however.
Threats of violence aside, he was more interested in what the scientists were doing regarding the necessary modifications, it wasn’t often one got to learn about themselves from this point of view, albeit a view skewed with grim fascination since he was currently a talking head looking at his own body. Re-writing his own internal coding also opened the door for future possible upgrades.
How long before we see a Technorganic Tarantulas?
If Hook was to look for the stitching tomorrow, he’d find the stitches completely dissolved and no sign of a cut having been there at all.

"You would make terrible candy," Hook observes, "striped or otherwise."
He corrects Tarantulas, "Organic components provide certain advantages in specific scenarios and disadvantages in other scenarios. Judging one technology as superior is sheer folly."
For Hook's purposes, plain old metal is quite fine for him. He moves over to makes corrections on Tarantulas's model, because meddling and correcting things is what Hook does.
He asks Blackarachnia, "Do you have anything more specific?"

"Good."
Blackarachnia puts the wasp's head back down on the table and moves over to an unoccupied terminal. After examining Waspinator's specs- and comparing them to her own- she makes some notations before popping them up on the larger screen.
"There's the problem. Autoimmune discrepancy. My body was designed to adapt to sudden changes or invasive code. His isn't. Needs a bridge. How could I have missed that...?" her voice trails off as she types a few things into the terminal.
"At any rate, I can write a patch based off my old code that should keep him from exploding until his body can finish evolving."

Tarantulas sort of already is technorganic. He was a Beast Warrior to start with, and becoming a Transmetal with robot in his beast mode and animal in his robot mode only blurred the lines further. He's nowhere near as organic as Blackarachnia or Waspinator, though.
"Having been a pure Cybertronian, scanning a beast mode, and then becoming a Transmetal, I have to say I far prefer having organic components, Hook. It greatly expands my culinary options. Really, you ought to try it." Hook would make an excellent orb weaver spider. He could build perfect webs and criticize everyone elses'. Also he'd be small enough to murder.
"'Until his body can finish evolving?'" Tarantulas repeats. "Is he going to keep changing?"

Culinary options? This was going to require some further research. There was a saying – know thyself – so far Waspinator was getting to know how his insides worked, when he was whole he was going to explore the sum of his parts, find out exactly what this upgrade was capable of and what ‘Organic’ meant to his sensors, he already saw things differently.
“Until Wazzpinator finish evolving?” If Blackarachnia didn’t have his attention before, she did now.

Hook could end up a giant, monstrous orb weaver spider, Tarantulas, like Sky-Byte is a frakking huge shark. Hook has no interest in down-sizing. He's a Decepticon. He can always raid a hydro-electric plant at dawn if he gets hungry.
Hook sniffs disdainfully when Tarantulas exposits the advantages. Of course Hook is a picky eater! He smirks and points out, "And I don't have to worry about prions tailored to derail the protein folding functions of my synthetic flesh. Because I don't have any synthetic flesh. I do have prions, though." Hook smiles at Tarantulas.
He continues with examining Waspinator's components, making his own notes, and meddling with Tarantulas's notes, but he does pause to stab a finger at Blackarachnia and to demand, "I hope, by 'patch', you mean 'fix', not 'stop-gap measure'."

"No, he isn't going to keep changing!" Blackarachnia snaps as her fingers click on the terminal keys, "But his internal codes will for a short time still and they need time to adapt. His body has undergone an extreme change in a very short period of time. It's like an autoimmune reaction gone very bad."
She spins around on her stool to look at the assembled bugs- and Hook.
"We aren't meant to be these hybrid things. We're meant to be mechanical beings, and his body is fighting to return to its proper state. Yes, I can fix it, but it will be a patch, because its just until his internal codes catch up."
She spins back around to the terminal and goes back to writing code.

Raiding hydro-electric plants at dawn is so gauche, and it's not very stealthy. Go ahead and make vague prion-related threats, Hook. Tarantulas may not be able to do anything about it now, because of the rank situation, but someday, he'll have vague nonspecific revenge. He'll have vague nonspecific revenge on everybody.
"Just because you were originally purely mechanical, doesn't mean you were meant to be that way," Tarantulas says to the larger spider. Personally, he thinks she looks great the way she is, but he doesn't have enough of a death wish to say that out loud. "Waspinator seems to appreciate the upgrade."

“Yezz, Wazzpinator does, upgrade iz upgrade” coming from a universe where the good guys are civilians for the most part, this wasn’t really saying much.
“Ummm, does Wazzpinator have to worry about Hook’z prionz then? Or anything else?” because incorrectly folded proteins leads to mad cow disease right? In one instance of protein folding anyway.

"I think," Hook says slowly, because this is uncomfortable territory for him, if he thinks about it too deeply, "that it is a consent issue at hand here, not an engineering issue. You, Tarantulas, consented to become a spider. You, Waspinator, consented to let Blackarachnia work on you. However, Blackarachnia did not consent to become a spider and would rather be a grader or a steamroller or something." That's what every woman wants to be: construction equipment.
He sighs as Blackarachnia says the patch is only a patch. This is ridiculous! To soothe his frayed wires, he goes back to cataloging Waspinator's body and answers Waspinator after a pause, "As long as you behave, you should be fine."

"Yes," Blackarachnia says after Hook's conjecture, "Exactly that. Nor would I have consented were I given the choice."
She continues to work on code
OOC: Looks like we could be heading toward fade/wrap, unless there was something else to be accomplished here?

It's a pity Blackarachnia isn't happier in her technorganic form. She makes such a good spider. Tarantulas just isn't suicidal enough to tell her that.
//Don't mind Hook,// he transmits to Waspinator on a narrow band. //He's just posturing to remind us all how big and important he is.//
OOC: I'm good with a wrap.

So has anyone 100% consented to become technoganic? Had complete freedom of choice in the matter without fear of saying no? Not really a good track record, especially when no one yet has been created technoganic from the beginning.
//But Hook iz short, not big//
But then compared to teeny spiderbot, everyone was big, and implied important when they can squash you like a bug.
OOC: And Wrap. Thank you everyone again, even if Waspinator still doesn’t have his head screwed on right. Btw, Tarantulas’ reassuring about Hook is possibly the nicest thing he’s ever said.
