Scourge twitches a bit, and pins his antennae back in another sulk. He mutters. "No. I won't believe that." He looks up and steadies his voice. "Perhaps you'll go home, but I can't believe you'd just be satisfied with that. We've had a glimpse at so many realities, a taste of infinity. The fact is... I'm not."
Scourge holds up a hand and really tries to catch Shockwave's attention, trying to catch that one yellow optic. "You know what I thought when I first saw that video of Unicron, beheld the Devourer that so many fear? I wanted one. God or not, though I can't say I believe. We could have so much more. Be so much more."
"I don't want you to assure me of my worth. I know I am worthy." Does he? Optimus Prime tainted him with his Autobot code and schematics. "But the question remains. Are we the people?"
If Scourge is some kind of monster for his anger, it's ominous what's in Shockwave.

Shockwave looks up when Scourge tries to get his attention. Once the tanker finishes, Shockwave sighs and runs his hand over his helm, a rare sign of weariness. That weariness is echoed in his voice.
"You are so young, Scourge, to think like that. Young, and unfamiliar with Unicron to even consider...."
Another sigh, and Shockwave turns to face the tanker. "Everything appears to be in working order. If you would like to test them, feel free."
"And since you insist on an answer- some of you are. Some of you are but fodder to further our gain. I do not lie, Scourge, and will not pretend to attachments that are not present."

Scourge shakes a little with anger. Anger's always there with him, coursing his every step. Sometimes it spurs him on. Sometimes it trips him up, but he can never beat it, because whenever he turns on it to strike it down, that is when he gives his anger the most power over him.
Test them? Scourge points his hand at Shockwave, and his plasma blaster is suddenly in it, with only a thought, without a word. He looks at it, optics narrowed, and then over at Shockwave. His hand is still shaking. He says slowly, a bit strained, "I... realise you have been unusually candid with me. That's not something we do. It's not in our nature. I... appreciate that, I do, I'm just..." his voice turns bitter and sour and blackly amused, "...young."
Scourge fixates on the wrong points when adults wants to have serious discussions about their feelings. It's probably half of why he's been frustrating Blackarachnia!
The plasma blaster vanishes, silently as it came.

Shockwave does not flinch as Scourge's summons his weapon. Yes, the time will come that Scourge will betray Shockwave. Shockwave knows that it will happen, knows it as surely as he knows his name. Such is the way of Decepticon leadership.
That day is not today. The tanker is still too in need to the father figure that Shockwave represents, is still too content to be an instrument. That will change.
But not today.
He stands and tries to place his hand on Scourge's shoulder. "Let us return to the simulation room. We shall spar, and you may take the full measure of your new abilities."
OOC: Looks like a fade to wrap?

If Shockwave had flinched, something would have broken inside Scourge, a gate would have been opened, but Shockwave doesn't flinch, and for now the levy holds; the gate stays locked. Shockwave throws him off balance with all these cryptic comments that leave him wondering why Shockwave can't just come out and declare anything, why must he exist in a soft land of maybes and mights, and then, then of course Shockwave says just the right thing. It's maddening and frustrating, and someday, Scourge vows, Scourge will be just as much of a sphinx. His optics brighten, and Scourge nods, saying softly, "Of course, sir. To go into battle with untested modifications would be irrational." The End
