It's not that Emirate Xaaron doesn't want to listen. It's that he does not have time to listen to Perceptor in full because he needs to keep the cons from killing all his people. He's not trying to be rude or to slight Perceptor, but even if he did have the time to listen, it's not like he'd understand what Perceptor's going on about, anyway. It's almost like Perceptor's the last native speaker of a long-forgotten language, a relic of a dying breed.
Coming this summer: Last of the Nerds.
When Perceptor turns away, Emirate Xaaron tries to put a hand on his lower arm, and he says, "I wasn't trying to be rude. Also, I think the second option is suboptimal, because even a split-second dulling of sensation could be disastrous in a combat-op. Nauseous and alert is better than dull."

Perceptor nods, though he does not say if it is because he is accepting Xaaron's apology/explanation, or if it is because he is agreeing with, or merely noting Xaaron's concerns.
"The use of chrono particles is very delicate and sensitive. I will require more time, then, to develo an appropriate integration circuit and tune to the specific ratio required to get optimal function," he replies. "Should I notify you when I require your assistance again? It will be rather... pointless for you to remain while I work upon that."

"Perhaps you need a control mechanism for the chrono particles, like a... chrono trigger," Emirate Xaaron speculates aloud, rather fancifully.
Then he nods and moves to exit, quipping, "Oh Primus me, I would hate to be anything other than acute." Obtuse people are so pointless!
OOC: Gone until Perceptor calls him back.

"Perhaps, perhaps," Perceptor replies absently, his main processor already off and running calculations. Sadly, he misses Xaaron's final comment - or rather, he misses the pun, and merely nods, rising to wander over to another terminal to start running CAD on new control mechanisms.
He does not call Xaaron to return for the rest of that cycle, being to deeply immersed in redesigning portions of the tech to compensate for the sensory fluctuations. If Xaaron stops by at any point before Perceptor calls for him, he may even find a certain griping Blackbird sprawled inelegantly in a corner, with Perceptor ha;f buried in Jetfire's mechanics, examining HIS space-bridging tech, as well.
It's well into the next day when he finally calls Xaaron back - which may seem quick for Xaaron, but it's almost unbearably slow for Perceptor. Especially since he has clearly not left his workstation since Xaaron left him, as he's still sporting Xaaron's gold and silver colors, although he has taken a moment to at least repaint his hands black. The reflection and glare had been annoying him as he'd worked.
The floor around one of the platforms is littered with parts - screws, bolts, small bits of electronics, and behind that platform, there is a large dent in the wall, surrounded by the charring of what had obviously been an explosion, albeit a small one. Stacked in the space between the platforms are a half dozen small, wheeled mechanisms, about the same size and rough shape as the foul-mouthed Wheelie that had arrived with Grampa Blackbird. Some of them appear to be in... much better shape than others... and some of the broken bits that have been swept off the terminating platform resemble portions of similar constructs. Across the room, there appears to be another one... half sticking out of another wall.
Despite all this, Perceptor appears pleased by the time Xaaron arrives to his summons.

Emirate Xaaron does not stop by early. He really has more work than he can even do!
He is also completely back to his normal silver and gold, so they can be terribly gaudy together in the laboratory. Emirate Xaaron takes in the Wheelie voodoo dolls impassively but silently worries about Perceptor's psychoses. At least Perceptor looks cheerful.
Emirate Xaaron deadpans, "Do I want to know?"

Perceptor cocks his head to one side, pondering Xaaron's question with confusion for a moment, until he follows the Emirate's gaze to the collection of battered little mechanisms. "Oh! Probes to test the early modifications." He grins, as if that is all the explanation in the world necessary. Or as if he is unaware of the resemblance to one of their smallest - in form, but certainly not attitude - members.
"The earliest tests proved to be a bit... ahh.... unpredictable. Ahem."

Maybe Perceptor just really hates Wheelie? Why can't Perceptor just use Auto-Scouts like sane people Soundwave? (His chest even looks like it could maybe open up and jam cassettes inside!)
Emirate Xaaron deadpans some more, "Oh. I'm so glad we just swapped paint instead of ending up in the walls."

Because four wheels are more stable than two! Besides, endowed chest piece or not, Perceptor couldn't fit an Autoscout in there with a pry bar.
Perceptor heaves a long sigh. "The process was much more refined before I started redesigning it from the ground up again, to incorporate the chrono-particles," he expounds. "It was perfectly safe before I allowed you to participate in testing. Hence why it took so long to notify you to return this time; I would not risk you with an untested prototype."

There's room for a Universal Emulator in there!
Emirate Xaaron gives Perceptor a shifty look. It's nothing personal. Emirate Xaaron tends towards shifty. He repeats, voice even and uninflected, "You scrapped everything and started over because of a little nausea?"

"Ummm.... yes?" Perceptor replies. Was he NOT supposed to make it function correctly? "Well, and the unexpected transfer of atomic particles... I thought that was what you wished me to do?"

"Oh yes, the unexpected transfer of atomic particles. You fixed that?" Emirate Xaaron inquires, eying the Wheelie-drone stuck in the wall warily.
Atoms getting flung around is bad. Nausea is bearable.

It's modern art. Really. Or, umm... something. Ahem.
"Yes, I do believe so. Additionally, while the current model is calibrated to transfer from platform to platform, that is purely for live testing," he explains, pausing for a moment to consider the briefest phrasing he can. "I can turn that function off and transmit to specific coordinates, instead."
Modern Art notwithstanding.

Emirate Xaaron looks up at Perceptor and asks, "So, did you want to test coordinate to coordinate travel with me?"
Why else would Perceptor call him here? Emirate Xaaron is all about the dangerous testing!

"Certainly," Perceptor agrees. "As well as determine if the modifications I have made affect the unpleasantness that you experienced before." And, for once, Perceptor makes no attempt to explain just what he did.
"To your stateroom? That should be a safe enough location to transmit to," he offers, punching in coordinates and nodding toward the platform.

Emirate Xaaron decides to ask something practical, instead, as he heads towards the platform, "What's the power draw?"
If they're going to need to raid the power plant at dawn to feed this monster, that's not going to work out very well!
"My room's fine." Rodimus wouldn't have anyone over, would he?
