"Such evasive maneuvering will, indeed, take practice," Perceptor agrees, nodding. "Perhaps I could accelerate your education by assisting in developing specific programs in the simulation rooms for your use in mastering your skills with the transport pod, Spy Shot. Such a program should be simple enough to design."
If Perceptor had any inclination about Oracle's caution regarding scientists, he would likely wilt. It would remind him too much of how the Alternate Decepticons had viewed him initially, and for the same reason, most likely. "No worries, no worries," he replies, waving his now-free hand dismissively. "I am not one to turn away the npotential for useful suggestions simply out of the concern that I may have heard them already. Please, do not hesitate to continue to offer your observations. Science cannot be advanced in a vacuum, after all."
"I look forward to that explanation, Rattrap," he adds, glancing down at the Maximal.
"But first, you asked about the simulation rooms. They are rooms designed with holographic technology to simulate any environment and situation input into the control centers. There are those aboard who may feel the need to... hrmm... escape, so to speak, from the tedium of such a long deep space voyage," and, unlike Perceptor, most of those folks can't do so simply by locking themselves into a lab for months on end, "and other who will wish to maintain their combat skills. Activities which being contained within a vessel even as large as this one are not conducive to. Hence the creation of the simulation rooms."
"Rattrap, do you share the same scanning abilities as those from Bumblebee and Jazz's reality, then?" he asks, curiosity piqued by that offhand remark.

Spy Shot continues peering closely at Rattrap. It's nothing personal, he just likes staring at people. He'll probably get bored shortly.
To Oracle, he replies, "I was practicing, but then I ran into you. I need to practice more." He turns to Perceptor for a moment and nods. "The simulation room might be helpful. I would like to try."
Turning his gaze back to Rattrap, he continues talking to Oracle. "I said I have been flying," he agrees. "Someone carried me." After a moment he decides to clarify, "Grimlock carried me."

Giving Rattrap an amused look, Oracle shrugs. "Just saying. Not that I think your reflexes need much help, but if you're under the impression they do, I'm sure we could come up with something other than improving Spy Shot's aim."
Cautious about scientists or not, Perceptor is still the only med-type Oracle will let near her if she can help it, so maybe that's some sort of comfort if he happens to encounter her general opinion of the science wielding type. So if he says she's not being annoying, she'll smile and nod, metaphorically anyway. "If you say so." Considering something after a moment, she looked thoughtful. "Actually, while a constant warning going off would be good for others approaching, it might get annoying for Spy Shot. Something proximity based, if that's even possible?" She's got no clue if it is, but she could only imagine how annoyed she would get at a chime or other sound that wouldn't go away.
The explanation about the simulation rooms is very interesting, and Oracle pays close attention. Can be used for simulating environments and situations, somehow larger then the space contained? Sounded good to her. Both for maintaining her combat skills like Perceptor mentioned, and also possibly as an avenue for flying, something she hadn't thought she was really going to get to do on board. "How does it work? I'm sure I probably won't understand but..." She shrugged, she was still curious even if the Perceptor-ese was going to likely make the explanation even more beyond her comprehension then normal.
Spy Shot seems rather fascinated with Rattrap for some reason, and it makes her chuckle. "I would say the more practice the better Spy Shot, and simulation room or not, a place without breakable obstacles might be safer. At least for now." And people counted as breakable obstacles, depending on the person. "Grimlock carried you? Well at least he probably wasn't going too fast for you to see things." For obvious reasons, she figured the little mech was rather visual and since as far as she knew, Grimlock had to have been carrying him in his hand to fly, that sorta limited the speed of things.

This is one of those times Rattrap doesn't mind being the centre of attention and he doesn't even have to be obnoxious about it. Savour the moment, folks.
"Nah," he answers Perceptor with a shrug. "We can't scan fer ourselves like dat. We got gadgets and stasis pods ta do the work." To Oracle, he adds without missing a beat, "If I gotta check my reflexes, we might as well get some multi-taskin' in while we're at it."

"Hmm... interesting. I would like to discuss these pods with you later, if you would be willing, Rattrap," Perceptor replies thoughtfully.
"In any case, let me conduct you all to the simulation rooms, and we shall see to producing a program for your use, Spy Shot. I think that you will all appreciate the facilities."
And, unless anyone objects, Perceptor sets off down the corridor with Spy Shot's pod still carefully tucked in his arms, heading for the other end of the ship and the sim rooms there.

As Perceptor beings to head for the the simulation rooms, Spy Shot finally gives up he scrutinizing of Rattrap and stares about at the hallways instead. You wouldn't think that fairly plain, metal corridors would be especially interesting, but every now and then are doors, intersecting corridors, air vents, alcoves... Nothing especially fascinating, but all entirely worth noting. The little camera-bot plans to have the entire ship memorized as soon as possible (he's already committed any schematics and maps he's come across to memory, but that's just not the same as seeing it for himself).
"He wasn't going too fast for me to see things," he confirms for Oracle. "I enjoyed it."
Truly he is becoming a master conversationalist.

Giving Rattrap a slightly funny look as she turns to follow Perceptor, Oracle wonders if she missed something. Possibly. Probably. Still though, she tries to clarify, even if it makes her having missed the point obvious. "Multi-tasking...so your reflexes and his aim? Not so much with the safe there."
This talk of producing programs piques her interest again. "So you can program in anything, or just from what's already been added into the database?" Just being able to see things that weren't the ship would be nice, but being able to program in things herself without having to talk to a tech type would be even better.
"That's good Spy Shot. It wouldn't have been very worth your time if you hadn't enjoyed it I suppose." Assuming he hadn't been carried around for other, more important reasons.

Rattrap makes no move to follow the group and instead waves them on.
"I'll worry about the tour later," he says. "And get back to ya on the stasis pods. Have fun stormin' the sim room." Besides, he isn't enough into exercise to run his tail off so he can keep up with them and he isn't interested enough in the sim room to hitch a ride there. He's actually trying to get to the biosphere because energon is all well and good, but he's in the mood for a snack he can sink his teeth into and there's got to be some fruit or something in that garden.
OOC: Sticking around long enough for any responses directed his way, then out of thread.

"Very well, Rattrap, and thank you," perceptor calls to the Maximal as they continue on their way.
"I believe," he adds, turning toward Oracle, "that the simulation rooms are loaded with pre-determined scenarios for ease of immediate use, with programable capabilities so that one may design their own courses. It is a very versatile and adaptable system for most efficient use. I think you will be pleased."
As they continue along, Perceptor, too, is examining the corridors and intersections, a thoughtful look upon his face. "You know, Spy Shot... It may be possible to construct passageways specifically for your pod along the ceiling... or perhaps into the floor. Tubes sized specifically for your pod that would limit the chances of others interacting negatively with you while in transit."
Yes, Perceptor just suggested building a HabiTrail into the ship for Spy Shot's hamster ball.

Spy Shot nods in agreement with Oracle, but adds, "It was good that I ended up at the base, though." Yes, he had been carried for other reason, but he still thinks it wouldn't have been very worth his time if he hadn't been able to see anything.
His gaze turns to the ceiling at Perceptor's suggestion then down to the floor as he considers it. Finally he looks back up, and says, "I would have a good view from the ceiling." And be less likely to bowl into people, that's also a good consideration, sure.

Waving after Rattrap as he departs, Oracle looks almost eagerly at Perceptor.
"Exactly how flexible is the system? I mean, I'm probably going to have to see it to really understand but..." Abruptly she looked sheepish. "Ah, sorry. I suppose I'll see when we get there." She widened the distance between herself and Perceptor slightly, ostentatiously to have a better angle to peer down at Spy Shot but at the same time easing that renewed jitteriness she was feeling.
Good that Spy Shot ended up at the..oh! "Yes, I would say it is good you ended up at the base. I take it that was the other reason you were flying?" The HabiTrail idea makes her grin, and Spy Shot's reaction gets a laugh. "Well, that would neatly solve the issues of running into people and Spy Shot seems to like the idea of a road with a view, but how would he get down? Elevators at regular intervals?" Sounded complicated.

"Yes, I think it would," Perceptor agrees with Spy Shot. Oracle brings up a good point, however, and Perceptor frowns, deep in thought.
"Elevators or exit tubes or perhaps even a semi-permeable access port nof some type," he muses. "It will require thought. There is also the added complication of restricting Spy Shot's means of access or escape in situations involving systems failure or infiltration... Hmm... perhaps a simple trench would be a safer alternative. Not as interesting of a view, however... but a more convenient, safer possibility..."
He's wandering off again in his own mind, but suddenly shakes his head, remembering that Oracle had asked another question.
"Oh, yes. The simulation system," he says, turning down another corridor. "It is as infinitely flexible as one has the patience to program for, I imagine. It utilizes holographic technology to produce whatever the user requests, and has a significantly advanced battle AI to simulate any number of variables and changing conditions, from weather to opponents. Ah, nearly there," he adds, nodding toward the end of the corridor and the large doors there.

"Yes," Spy Shot says to Oracle. "We were traveling from the black desert back to the base."
"I can climb down," he adds to the discussion of his transport systems. He actually frowns at Perceptor's suggestion of the trough-alternative. "I would prefer the view."
A good view over safety, that's Spy Shot's priorities for you.
Speaking of a good view, the camera-bot quickly focuses his attention on the doors to the simulation room. He may not be particularly interested in the fine details of programming the simulation system, but he does like the sound of this holographic technology.

Sometimes maybe lower tech is better and Oracle tries to figure out how Perceptor's safety concerns and Spy Shot's desire to see things can be combined with that in mind. And she can actually contribute that way since the logistics of a semi-permeable anything would probably take her longer to figure out then it would take Perceptor to make. Spy Shot makes a good point about being able to climb too.
"What about something like a four rail system with ladders attached at points along the walls? Nothing subject to power failures or other system troubles, and still a pretty good view except where the bars are?" She vaguely sketches in the air above the ball about how much of the view she thinks might be blocked so the visually obsessed one of the trio can see, but she's only offering a guess not really having a firm idea of materials needed.
Opponents? The simulation room gets better? Now she just has to attempt to find out if anything in there records. "Sounds as though it might be easy to loose track of time in there." She wonders exactly how popular it is, and what things other then combat and apparently racing small transports the room is used for.

Perceptor spares a wry look for the ball still held in his hands. Preferences and Priorities aside, the concepts still require working out, and Spy Shot may simply have to settle for what ultimately works out best for everyone. Perceptor holds his peace, though, and he really will work on...
Wait...
"Why four rails?" he muses, pausing at the door. "Two would suffice, and would not restrict Spy Shot from escaping if need be..." More ideas, more designs, and it is slowly evolving from a habitrail to a rail system. Makeshift may not appreciate what Perceptor is pondering doing to his beautiful ship.
He gives himself a shake and pushed the door access, leading them into the entrance to the simluation center. "There is time enough to work on the designs later," he observes, leaning down briefly to set the transport pod back on the floor.
"Welcome to the simulation center."
It isn't much, at first glance. An open room with doors leading out and a few panels and consoles set up next to each door, with large view screens mounted over each panel. It's rather... anti-climactic, possibly.
"And yes, I believe you may be correct, Oracle. The alternative, however, of denying any sort of outlet for pent up energy is... much less desirable than any potential for abuse."
