ooc: semi-private for now. Ask before joining. Will probably be open for anyone later,

Even for an average sized Transformer, the Event Horizon is a sizable ship. For the slim, pink female wandering the echoing corridors along the stern of the ship, however, it seems even larger than normal. Partly, that is due to her size; Clipper is a Micromaster, and much smaller than the "average Transformer".
Partly it is due to the fact that she has never been on such a large vessel before. Nor has she been in space before. Heck, before awakening so unexpectedly on Gillanan III, she'd never been off Micro before!
Right at the moment, however, her face is all but plastered to one of the many portholes giving her a view of the vastness of empty space which they are traveling through. Her blue optics are wide with awe, huge and sparkling in her small features, as she makes soft noises of enraptured appreciation at the sight she is being treated to beyond the thick, tempered porthole.
So many stars! So bright! They're everywhere, like they've swallowed the ship whole. It feels as if she could reach through the glass and pluck one from the darkness like a dust mote to hold between her thumb and forefinger. She's never seen anything so... so awe-inspiring before!
It's actually a little frightening to think that if it were not for the ship, that would be all she would see in every direction.
"It's so big...." she whispers, staring.

Most of Holi's awe at the launch was for the sheer scale of the ship and the enormity of the effort made by its builders. The size of it all is only compounded by his own diminutive stature.
Now that the journey is underway, however, he has his sea legs under him – so to speak – and it's business as usual. He's been familiarising himself with the corridor layout so he can get around as efficiently as possible and looking for ways to keep himself occupied. Not much rescue work to be done on the ship and communications hasn't even really come up. Fortunately, being back in space does a lot to keep Holi's spirits up, so he hasn't found much of a chance to fret about his place among the troops.
It's on a relay of sorts to test how quickly he can get from one point to another that he passes Clipper. Of course, he comes to a screeching halt and tries valiantly not to just belt out a hello. She seems preoccupied, actually; he fumbles for what to say when he sees that awestruck look on her face. Puzzled, he looks from her to the porthole, then back. Then it's all he can do not to grin and smugly cross his arms. This is the perfect chance for him to look cool and professional in front of her!
"It's just space," he says. He doesn't sound smug or superior about it, just matter-of-fact, and he can't help being proud of himself for it.

Clipper is so enraptured by the view that she doesn't even notice Holi as he slides to a screeching halt, and barely notes his voice as he speaks to her. "Hmmm? What?" she asks, turning just enough to glance beside her.
"Oh, Holi!" He's surprised her there. More than that, he stillis surprising her, as she notes his calm, confident pose. "Umm, hello," she replies, oddly shy for once. "What was it you said?"

"It's just space," Holi reiterates, tilting his head toward the porthole. "But it sure can be distracting." Then he turns to carry on with what he was doing and adds over his shoulder so she can't see the smile on his face, "The view from the forward lounge is much better."
And he can totally walk her there if she likes.

Just space?
A very small part of Clipper wants to stomp her foot and fume at Holi for being so... so... so infuriatingly blasse about this! The rest of her, though, takes in that self-assured confidence as he turns to go and blinks as if seeing him for the very first time.
"Really?" she asks, jogging after him and falling into step beside.

Just space. Just a vast blackness peppered with glittering galaxies and sparkling star systems. Holi learned early on to not try contemplating just how immense space is because the truth of the matter is that it's simply too much for him to comprehend.
"Really," he affirms, gesturing with both hands, arms outstretched to either side. "It has big viewing screens that show what's outside while we pass it. And comfortable places to sit." And a video game setup he's dying to try out. He'll be very surprised to learn that none of the games are supposed to double as combat training tools. "…Do you want to see it?" he wonders, deliberately bland, lowering his arms and peering sidelong at Clipper.

Clipper ducks a little to the side to avoid his arms as he gesticulates, but stays right in step with him, watching intently. He seems so... not blasse, she decides, but unconcerned. Used to it. Not casual and uncaring, but confident, collected.
In command.
It's, umm... very nice.
"Will you take me there?" she asks. She does want to see it, but... she'd rather stay with Holi right now, if it means choosing.

Inner Holi is inches from congratulating himself on finally getting Clipper's attention and doing a celebratory dance. Finally, she isn't just brushing him off! Outwardly, however, Holi manages to keep himself from doing much more than grinning invitingly.
"Sure!" he says. "I was going that way on my rounds." Technically not untrue; he just assigned himself the rounds. Not that he'd mind taking time out to hang around with Clipper for a while, either, so he adds carefully, "But there's plenty of time."

And he has rounds already! Clipper has never really gotten to see Holi "on duty". Just quick glimpses now and again between deployments. She isn't used to seeing him so calm and collected around her, either. He's very different when he's being so... responsible. The confidence is rather intriguing.
And a little intimidating. Maybe even scary.
Is he... getting tired of her already? Maybe he's bored with her lack of useful skills? There are a lot of other really interesting bots here...
"Do you think, maybe... you could stay and watch a bit with me?"

The question mark above Holi's head is thankfully invisible and the sound of his processors spinning madly in surprise inaudible within his helmet. He can't really hide the elated – nervous – smile on his face. She wants him to sit with her? Really?!
"Ah-heh," he murmurs, "sure. That'd be…." Nice? Great? "…Fun." Oh, he hopes he doesn't blow it.

On one hand? Holi's just promised to hang out with her, which gives her fuel pump little flutter skips.
On the other? Holi's just promised to hang out with her - without tripping over his own vocal processor or walking into a door. She isn't sure if that's a good thing or not, really.
She sidles a little closer, partly out of a need for reassurance, and partly.... well, partly an unconscious desire to push Holi's buttons just to see what he does. "Good," she replies as her shoulder almost brushes Holi's shoulder.

Normally, there are environmental hazards that contribute to Holi's blunders where Clipper is involved – escalators, for one. There's a little less working against him here. That doesn't stop him from veering off stride and walking smack into a wall when Clipper draws close.
"M-maybe my balance is messed up," he mumbles with a grimace as he rights himself, absently rubbing his cheek. He can't really salvage his cool with that, though, and he knows it. Just when he thought he was doing really well, too, and he blows it. He can practically hear Fire jeering about how Holi's just distracted by her nice body and what's crooked isn't his balance system but his intentions.
Fire's a jerk anyway.

Clipper doesn't quite manage to stifle her giggle as Holi walks himself into a wall. Its very much a relief to her that she can still fluster him, even with all the older, more sophisticated bots around.
"Maybe," she agrees just a little too innocently, and even Grimlock would be able to tell that she is truggling to hold back the grin creasing the plating around her optics. "Gravity is just a little different up here," she adds helpfully. Uh huh. Sure.
As for Holi's intentions, if Clipper had any concern over tham at all - except that maybe sometimes he can be a little too infuriatingly deferential and honest - then she wouldn't be trying to subtly herd him into another wall, just to see if he's really that nervous right now.

The disadvantage to being too worried about looking stupid is Holi doen't really pay attention to what he's actually doing. Or where he's going. So while he's trying to find a response and keep from brushing up against Clipper – she might think he's too forward – he doesn't see that next jutting bulkhead coming up until he nearly has a face full of it.
"Uwa!" He staggers and pivots to avoid walking clean into it, arms pinwheeling as he nearly falls over despite his efforts. When he has both feet on the deck again, he slumps, looking sort of defeated, and heaves a relieved sigh.

The only reason that Clipper does not giggle outright this time is that doing so would be incredibly rude for a polite young lady. She does, however, look entirely too calm; it gives her a rather smug air as she pauses beside Holi, waiting for him to get his balance back again.
It's the dejected air that really makes her feel... well... safe, oddly enough. He could have been avoiding touching her because he just isn't interested like that any longer. But the dejection, he clearly wants to impress her - as always - which means...
Which means that he's still her Holi.
Back home? Back home, she would have merely kept right on walking with that smug little smile hovering at the edges of her expression. Being here, though, has certainly begun to alter her priorities just a bit.
"Oh, Holi," she sighs with a fond smile. She leans in, pressing a very quick, very chaste little kiss to his cheek, and then sighs "You are so silly sometimes."
At that, she turns and continues sedately down the corridor, tossing over her shoulder, "And you still owe me a date, Mister-skipped-out-on-me-back-home. So where's this observation spot, you promised to show me, anyway?"
