This thread immediately follows Room Without A View. Open to all Decepticons.
A yellow tetrajet rockets through the hallways of the Decepticon ship, Ship.
Yes. There is a full-sized Seeker in alternate mode flying through the hallways.
He's surprisingly proficient, keeping near the ceiling and handling the turns admirably. Every now and again, on particularly tight turns, he transforms, rolls-and-tumbles, and transforms again to change his direction even more quickly, a maneuver he's spent a considerable amount of time practicing on, as he has long favored transformation-based tricks in combat (see character sheet).

Shortly behind the yellow tetrajet is a magenta and purple interceptor. Very close behind, actually.
Misfire can't do all the fancy tricks Fleetwind can. Oh, he's been getting some lessons, but the Targetmaster isn't about to test his timing and reflexes out in the ship's corridors. Not when he's maneuverable enough to handle the curves without them.
Not trying the quick change tricks means he's having to keep his speed down, and rely heavily on his radar to anticipate turns. Speaking of....there's a straightaway of decent length coming up after the next two turns. Might be able to pass, if there's no one in the way.
"Damn it, Fleet, this is your element more than mine! Those quickchanges make the turns faster for you!" Misfire is laughing, though. It feel so good to actually be flying again!

Pulling fancy tricks to get ahead wasn't much Skystrike's game either but then she wasn't horribly worried about winning to begin with. She rounds the next corner, canards twisting lazily against the air as she distantly watches the other two dart away. A low rumble of content interrupts the sound of her engines and the blue jet puts on just a tad bit more speed.
There really wasn't any better way to cure cabin fever than this!

Fleetwind laughs, though it's a joyous laugh, not a cruel one.
"Of course it's no fair!" he calls out happily to both the other jets, even as the straight section allows the other two to catch up with him. "Flying fair is as foolish as fighting fair, and I don't do that either!" Still, he seems to be losing his lead as the three zip through the ship. Fortunately, Fleetwind's never been much for pride, anyway, so if he loses, he loses.

There is a very, very tiny portion of Misfire's mind that wonders what Fleetwind would do if Misfire just up and tackled him one day. But the Targetmaster has spent a very long time ignoring such ideas. After all, who wants get too friendly with the worst shot in the company?
Misfire decides to try and take advantage of the straightaway, dropping low and putting on speed to try and pass below Fleetwind, at the same time possibly cutting off Skystrike. The corner up ahead is not too sharp, and if Misfire does this right, he can still make it even at this speed.
He laughs again, "This is great!"

Misfire isn't the only person taking advantage of the straightaway. Like some wheeled cowboy, Dead End never walks if there's room to drive--and he never drives slowly if he can help it. That stretch of corridor is just about perfect for flooring it and shrieking down the road at about 90 mph. (It's just not long enough to get up to full speed, alas!)
That is why there's a dark red Porsche hurtling down the corridor (on the floor, at least) toward them--

Skystrike is cut off!
The hallway was big enough for her to attempt some kind of overtake but the seeker simply cuts her speed down and goes into a contemplatively slow (for a jet, anyhow) barrel roll. Might as well thoroughly enjoy her time in the air whilst the the courting jet courts.
Then Dead End appears down the hallway and the now upside down berkut pauses mid-move before dropping low enough to give the car-former some extra turbulence when he passes under her. Just for the heck of it.

As Misfire starts to pull below Fleet, the Seeker spies Dead End up ahead. Uh-oh! Skystrike is flying even lower, it seems, but the instinct is to pull up. Fleet, nearest to the ceiling, has no where to go, but should Misfire follow his instinct, with Fleet above him...
The pastel Seeker suddenly transforms, the change in shape providing a very effective airbreak. When he does, he immediately falls back behind both Misfire and Skystrike, although he stays near the ceiling. This happens split second, but should give Misfire both time and room to pull up and away from Dead End.

Misfire is courting Fleetwind about as much as Skystrike is courting Wreckage. Misfire is just about to pass Fleetwind when suddenly! Porsche! Thousands One of them! Well, not so suddenly. Misfire saw Dead End coming on his radar. He just underestimated Dead End's speed. "Watch it!" Misfire pulls up hard as Fleetwind vacates the space above, and he skims just along the hall ceiling, only dropping low enough to twist and take the curve ahead easily, wings parallel to the wall.

Dead End, being so equipped, also saw the jets coming on his radar. He just didn't see any reason why he should cede the hallway to them. The Stunticon swerves to just miss the downward jut of Skystrike's upside-down cockpit and tail-fin.
He rocks noticeably in the wake of Skystrike's and the others' vortices, but is not otherwise disturbed--another swerve puts him back in the center of the hall, continuing on his way without slowing down in the least.
If he could be heard over the thunder and howl of jet engines, Dead End might be heard chuckling softly...
---- And continuing out-of-thread, except for responses

"Cheeky slagger." Skystrike murmurs in amusement. Dead End sure knew how to scatter the jet boys.
Casually, she rolls into the next turn before putting on a burst of speed in an attempt to overtake Misfire. It simply wouldn't be Decepticon to not take the advantage when one's opponents were still recovering.

It would seem that Fleetwind had the right idea, dropping back so suddenly, as Misfire does, indeed, pull up. The yellow Seeker passes over Dead End and continues on, remaining in robot mode for the next turn - might as well!
At this point Fleetwind, who had been in the front, is now dead last, so as soon as he makes the turn he transforms again.
"Well, that wasn't too close," the Seeker notes. He doesn't push the speed now, hoping to take advantage of further twists and turns in order to make up lost time.

Misfire has to drop his speed pretty drastically, as there are several turns coming up. Oh, he's threaded tighter turns before, and at higher speeds, but he would prefer to err on the side of caution.Of course, his caution means either Skystrike or Fleetwind might pass him in the next bit.
It doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter because he is flying, and he is not alone.
"Guys, keep a watch out. Three sharp turns ahead, right, left, left. And the corridors aren't empty!"

"I thought the whole point was that the corridors weren't empty?"
Then Skystrike is distracted by the upcoming turns. She has flown in trickier mazes than the grand, mostly vacant hallways of the Ship but it still takes a good amount of concentration to manuever without getting a wing tip scraped off.

Fleetwind remains in robot mode, but with the turns, the difference in speed is suddenly not so much an issue, especially not with Flee pulling his feet to his chest, tumbling in the air, 'landing' feet-first on walls and springing off of them again like a deranged acrobat who can't be bothered to remember which direction is down.
"The whole point is fun, Skystrike!" Fleet laughs loudly and happily. "We've been cooped up too long! We have wings, and need to fly!"
With that, Fleet takes the last of the turns Misfire mentioned, now, in all likelihood, near to caught up. The very second he's in the clear, he transforms again - though he's no faster about switching modes than the others, its timed to the split second - and then he's off again, trying to make up for speed lost.
