Day 31
Long Haul is standing outside of one of the Event Horizon's storerooms, and he doesn't look happy. Not that it's easy to tell, what with his lack of face and all, but still, he gives off a general impression of unhappiness.
He's also counting quietly to himself.
"Eight... nine... ten..."
Finally, he growls and shakes his head.
"Still short. Guess I better count 'em again."

Patrol round leads past the constructicon, whose body language says quite enough. Hesitating, eventually Skid-Z decides to ask anyway, halting near the mech. "Ehm.... standard question but, everything ok?"

"No, it's not," Long Haul grumbles as he pokes his head back into the storeroom.
"Some of our oil's gone missing! Someone's been getting into it unauthorized!"
With that, the Constructibot starts counting through the the barrels again.

Coming from one of the training rooms and seeing Skid-Z standing outside one of the storerooms talking to Long Haul, Oracle is curious enough to stop and find out what's going on.
Walking up she gets close enough in time to hear what she assumes is Long Haul's reply to a question Skid-Z asked before he starts counting again.
"Who doesn't have authorization that would want anything to do with it? Is it possible that someone with authorization forgot to record some they removed?" Well she doubts it, but she's generally more untrusting than most Autobots so she won't bring that up this soon in case she's wrong.

Opening his mouth to respond, Oracle beats him to it. The scout shrugs, "Unauthorized? Doesn't that mean you have logs as to who accesses the storage rooms when and where?"

"'Course we have logs!" Long Haul snaps. "But if this was a recorded shortage, it wouldn't be a shortage. 'Cos it would be recorded."
He looks up at Oracle, then scratches his head, then shrugs. "Well, sure, I s'pose it could be that. Don't know enough to know nuttin', yet."
He shakes his head. "I don't really get it, though. Oil ain't nothing but a lubricant, anyway. Unless you're Scrapper, when it's a drink. So who would need so much extra lubrication?"
Long Haul is not the right species to find anything wrong with what he's saying.

It's a drink for Scrapper?
An odd expression crosses Oracle's face when she hears that. "Maybe Scrapper needed a refuel than? I heard you were still working on an exact count I think, but have you got a rough estimate of what's missing?" Having no idea how much is gone, her speculation on the amount of oil either lubrication to someone or having been imbibed, let along other uses, was a rather uncertain number. "If he didn't, um, maybe someone's joints were really stiff?"
She doesn't see anything wrong with what Long Haul said either. If Skid-Z does the results might be amusing.
Shifting around to peer into the storage room, Oracle attempts to see what's inside, not that she has any idea what's supposed to be there in the first place.

Sentinel Prime wanders into the storeroom because he is naturally attracted to trouble of the sort that could give him a paranoid fit.
That is his real reason for being here.
However, if asked, he'd say he's here because he lost his map and is therefore lost.
As he turns the corner, he promptly walks into a shelving unit that stores their supply of lead bricks. The shelving unit creaks ominously, threatening to fall over on Sentinel Prime, whose optics have gone very, very wide.

Skid-Z actually keeps a natural face going on. Wrong crowd, wrong situation.... were it different his tone would be far from serious, and right up there with naughty insinuations.
"I actually meant the people who enter and exit the rooms... security vids, at best. Those logs" He explains. He keeps waiting outside storage.

Long Haul's optic band flares up as Sentinel unbalances the shelving unit. His datapad clatters to the ground as he tries to move in to push them back in place, possibly shoving Sentinel out of the way in the process. Both theoretical shoving and non-theoretical brick-balancing are done with a strength that some would find downright shocking from his small form, but his reflexes leave a bit to be desired, and several of the bricks fall from the top of the pile despite his best efforts, crashing down around anyone nearby... unless, say, someone who can see a smidge into the future can move people out of the way in time!
"Hey, hey, hey, watch it!" Long Haul complains when any potential crashing and/or catching and/or shoving is done. He grunts and looks up at the shelves. "Thought we had these blasted things secured better than that. Oh, well, one more thing for me to take care of, I guess."
To Skid-Z, he answers, "Eh, I'll see if this area's covered by the cameras." Autobots are usually, by and large, both a trusting and trusthworthy bunch, with the exception of the occasional paranoid, they do not always think to put every nook and cranny on camera until someone points it out to them. Not only that, but when generally trustworthy and trusting people are treated as if they're not trustworthy, they tend to get resentful. "If it is, I'll go ahead and req the tapes." He takes a bit more time to make sure the bricks stay in place.

Oracle isn't any less peeved than Long Haul is, but she's still in motion to help attempt to pull Sentinel further out of the way even as she mutters something irritated under her breath.
Whether he moves or not, Oracle starts snagging bricks out of the air that appear to be headed for people or important things. Mostly this means Long Haul, since she's not exactly going to move the person holding up the shelf the caused this mess but making sure he isn't knocked silly seems pretty important.
Skid-Z is still outside the door which makes it really easy to just deflect the only brick headed his way with one of the ones she snagged away from a collision course with Long Haul. And while she's tempted not to she even grabs the one headed right for Sentinel's face. The minor vindication wouldn't be worth the irritation she's sure.
Looking around once things have settled, she shakes her head and drops the last brick in her hand. "Can we not do that again?"
Picking her way around the mess, she goes to see if she can get an answer to her earlier question. Long Haul never did say how much was missing, but if there's a space in the stores maybe she can get an idea. On the other hand, she's no detective.

Sentinel Prime is narrowly rescued by the grace of Long Haul and Oracle. He flexes and dusts himself off, agreeing loudly, "Better get those bricks better secured. They're a hazard to everyone!"
At the mention of cameras, Sentinel Prime panics, "You're taping this? Everyone could see those bricks cruelly ambushing me?" He looks left and right, clearly anxious.

Noise attracts: During the falling brick catching, Skid-Z winches while peering inside. He wisely keeps to the side so no-one trips or bumps into him and perhaps get a brick on their command centers.
Skid-Z looks a bit skeptic at the ‘ambush’ thing, replying instead, “I hope so, means this room is monitored!” because that would be so convenient. No, he does not think anything of the concept of camera versus feelings of privacy and trust. Public room.

"Anyway," Long Haul begins, making sure that the bricks aren't about to take a tumble again. Once he's sure he moves back, looks around, then heads to a small cabinet in the room. From it, he begins to remove some tiedowns. "Anyway, looks like about two barrels worth that're gone, but that's all told - it looks like it was siphoned outta multiple barrels. And if it was Scrapper, he didn't properly log it."
He looks up at Sentinel as he starts to attach the straps. "I ain't sure if this room's on the tape list or not. I gotta doublecheck the plans. We got some rooms that was intended as people rooms and ent up being switched to being storage, but I don't recall specifically which is what off hand."

Those bricks ambushed him after he carelessly walked into the shelf? And he was worried about it being recorded? Oh please. Oracle was finding herself very much not impressed with Sentinel.
The oil having been siphoned out of multiple barrels would make it awful hard for her to do any sort of count. So much for that idea. That didn't stop her from continuing to poke around a bit, just in case there was something else to find. She was also keeping alert for any more 'accidents', hopefully she could stop them before it started raining painful objects this time.
"How reliable is Scrapper about logging things like that? I haven't really spoken to him so I don't know how forgetful he might be." She's attempting to imply absentmindedness rather then deliberate negligence or something more sinister, but she really hasn't met the individual in question. "But ah, Scrapper and creaky joints aside what else might this much oil have been used for?" She's just trying to add some more ideas to the pot really, in case neither of the other two pan out. Better to start thinking now then have to stop and ponder later.
