Long Haul's confusion makes Elita giggle, but the he figures things out before she can correct him.
"Yes, in the 'fighty sense,' she says, obviously still amused, "Sorry, I probably should have said 'combat abilities' instead. I just...don't really think of myself as defenseless, so I tend to make the distinction."
She looks from Oracle to Prowl, "Temporary, yes. I imagine my processors would get overloaded pretty fast if they were permanent. As for length of time, it really depends on plot convenience on what the ability is, how much power it takes, and how long I have it active*."
She locks her hands behind her back and rocks back on her heels, "And it really is just like copy-pasting, because it doesn't remove it from the original owner. I get some amount of proficiency when I download, but for the most part, I have to be adaptable."
"It...also means I'm at my best in a team environment." Which is why she was so often stuck with Sentinel and Optimus in training. Their abilities complimented each other, and they worked so well as a group....
But that's not for the now. Now is for new friends!
*This is how I'm interpreting her ability based the...rather arbitrary bits we saw of it in the show, and is how I apped it.

Long Haul rubs the back of his head. "Hnh!" he exclaims. "I... never really thought of my strength as a 'power' or 'special ability' or 'weapon' or anything. I'm just built sturdy, is all!" He looks at Oracle. "It's not really there for hitting. Just for lifting and carrying. The hitting... that's just a nice, well, bonus feature, I guess you'd call it."
"If I had any 'special abilities' it'd be my subspace capacity," he adds, rubbing his chin and tilting his visor ceiling-ward in thought. "It's a lot bigger than normal, y'know."
Then something occurs to him, and his optic band flickers. "So, uhm, what happens if you're, say, copying my subspacing and it fades out? Does the stuff you got just vanish, or does it all just pop back into reality around you?"

Prowl can remove armor at whim? Interesting. She wonders if it can be removed by others as easily, though one would hope not. And if it's a separate entity from Prowl, could Elita borrow something like that? Oracle looks between the two with a mildly speculative expression for a moment.
She's still listening to the conversation though and pipes up in response to Long Haul again. "Intended to be the purpose or not, getting hit by someone strong isn't very much fun." Though the lack of skill somewhat lessens the impact in Long Haul's case Oracle suspects, and he's got the right idea to work on that she thinks. "Though, if you think your subspace capacity is your 'ability' and Elita tried to borrow your strength, would she get both? Or just what you were after." That last is directed more specifically to Elita herself, as Oracle goes from musing aloud to directly questioning.
The question of what happens if borrowed sub-space vanishes makes her chuckle slightly. Though if things did reappear, being buried under whatever you were carrying doesn't sound like much fun.

"Interesting, very interesting indeed," Prowl says, "But as interesting as it is, I do want to keep to my practice schedule so I have time out of the rest of the day to do what I wish. Not to say you aren't interesting, Elita-1, this is just my own needs speaking."
He moves off to the side, away from the small gathering and stares back up at the training dummy, very intent on practicing. Again he goes to strike at it, expertly and focused.

Elita adopts a curious expression at Long Haul's question. "You know, I'm not really sure. Most likely, it would just pop back in around. As for your question...Oracle? Most people don't have more than two or three items that would count as something I can borrow, so my ability pulls them all, and I can choose among them."
She points at Oracle's wings. "Like, I doubt I can borrow your flight abilities. It's a part of your base build, not an addition or tweak to to your base design." She could snag anti-gravs, though. "I admit, it's still a bit odd to see an Autobot with wings!"
Prowl though....Prowl gets a Look. Not too social is he? "So I'm guessing you went through cyber-ninja training. It's a tough program. I've never met anyone who actually completed it."
Then she smiles back at Oracle and Long Haul. "So! What do you guys suggest for a group exercise?"

Long Haul makes a snorting noise as Oracle mentiones the oddness of seeing an Autobot with wings. "Hell, I had to get used to just seeing this many folks with the Autobrand," and here he jerks a thumb towards the symbol on his chest. "Only reason I have one is 'cos I was built so soon after the end of the wars. Kinda fell out of use after that - if I was just a bit younger, wouldn't have one, y'know? Don't really get it myself. It's my understanding that the whole business is..." and now he lowers his voice and says in a near whisper, leaning forward as though about to utter a dirty, horrible word, "political."
Then he straightens and brushes his hands together, almost as though wiping off that horrible, smelly word he just uttered. "Anyways, uhm, whaddaya mean, group exercise? Like, uhm, I can put some force behind a punch, sure, but I doubt I could do much to keep up with Oracle here, or him." With the last word, he jerks his thumb over and to the right of his shoulder, towards Prowl.

Oracle nods in confirmation at the slight questioning lilt at her name, then laughs quietly and shakes her head. "I get that a lot Elita, though it usually isn't just because I have wings." After all, her universe has other Autobot fliers, but she still gets odd looks for being an Autobot Seeker. And if Elita goes looking for anti-gravs, she'd be disappointed. This is one Seeker that doesn't have them.
Hearing Long Haul say 'political' like it's a bad word makes her grin for a moment, though some part of Oracle certainly agrees. The disgust with which he says the word is still pretty amusing, no matter her own opinions.
She doesn't comment though, turning her attention to the suggestion of a group exercise of some sort. "I don't think my particular fighting style would suit you much either Long Haul." Being as it was designed for speed, agility and sharp pointy things, the not so lithe Long Haul probably wouldn't get much out of it. Looking over at Elita, she queries her curiously. "What type of exercise exactly did you have in mind?" Prowl was apparently doing his own thing, but maybe if the idea was good he'd be up to participating as well, rather than remaining standoffish.

Prowl is quite happily practicing, until it's even slightly mentioned about completing the cyber-ninja training. The next strike is a crude, sloppy punch against the target.
"... And you may have yet to meet anyone..." He whispers, staring down at the ground. He stands up straight and then attempts to focus on something else. A group exercise! That will work fine. He approaches the group again. "We could practice learning some self-defense moves. If you feel you're ill prepared for defending yourself, I'd be glad to help."

Emirate Xaaron has been wanting to use the training room for his own purposes for a while.
When he steps in, he finds it busy instead.
Emirate Xaaron looks around, smiles, and spreads his hands. He asks, "And what do we have here?"

Elita props her elbow in the opposite hand and drums her fingers on her cheek, lips pursed in thought.
"Well, if you really aren't that up on combat moves," she inclines her head toward Long Haul, "and you other two are," a glance between Oracle and Prowl, "then self-defense might just be the better thing, like Prowl suggests."
"We could pair up? Oh! Hello!" she waves at Emirate Xaaron, "Apparently, the training room is just the 'it' spot this morning!"

Long Haul blinks at Emirate Xaaron. What do we have here? "Well, we got a... ninja, whatever the blazes that is, and a Seeker, and a logist- log- a supply specialist, and, uhm, her," and now he jerks his thumb towards Elita-1. "An ability borrower, I guess?"
"So, like, if you don't get wings 'cos they're just a side effect of build, would you not get strength from a big guy who's mostly strong because they're big? Omega, maybe?"
Then his optic band flickers. Focus. Focus. "Oh. Practice defense?" He grunts. "That's mostly making sure the folks at the front got what they need to hold the front, right?"

Smiling slightly in welcome at Xaaron, Oracle can't help but notice it's a rather eclectic group that's gathered in the room. Not that it's a bad thing, but it's going to make things interesting as Long Haul's descriptive litany of the occupants of the room in reply to Xaaron rather well illustrates.
"Learning self-defense isn't a bad idea at all, though I admit teaching can't be called my forte." She chimes in with support for Elita and Prowl's idea. "I bet we have enough varying skill levels and styles here now, that we can come up with something to provide a bit of facility at defense at the very least." She admits to not knowing exactly how skilled or unskilled the others are, though Prowl has shown at least the veneer of ability so far.
Which somewhat brings Oracle to her next point, as she moves a bit further into the room again, angling so she can see everyone else there. "Exactly what skill levels we are, in fact, working with might not be a bad idea to find out." She shrugs and quirks a wry smile. "It would be more efficient than instruction not fitted to the recipient at least." And less of a waste of time, too.

"I've done my share of trying to teach," Prowl says, gesturing his hand out in a bit of a wave at everyone. "It... May not have sunk in as well as I'd like it to have but in some instances it did. I hope that for this session, and perhaps others, it can do well."
He crosses his arms, "If we do choose to test our skill levels, I do not want to hurt anyone," he says, nodding. "I... At least do know my skills are at that level. However, beyond that, I will be glad to teach."

Emirate Xaaron raises one finger to his lips in thought, because this conversation is exceptionally interesting, and he has walked in half-way.
'ability borrower'?
People do seem to be listing off their combat prowess, or lack thereof, so he admits candidly, "Ah, fighting skill, yes... I have none. I've done a bit of studying recently with ranged weapons, but my aim, is hmm, abysmal, really."
"But. Ability borrower? I think missed something here."

Elita may not have met Emirate Xaaron before, but she does at least know who he is. Knowing one's command personnel is very important, after all. Wouldn't Sentinel be proud?
"Yes, sir," she answers, nodding, "I can temporarily absorb and use the abilities of other inorganic mechanisms to varying degrees. Er, though I've never tried it on non-Cybertronians."
She glances over at Prowl, "Hurting each other shouldn't' be a problem in here. Just set up the room for real combat training and we can practice without worry of true injury. At least...that's how I understood the room worked."
She looks from one mech to the other, "Am I wrong? I haven't used it before so...." She spreads her hands.
