Botanica catches that slight movement of Rodimus's and she gives the Prime a sympathetic glance and quick smile. She does worry over him, but she also knows Rodimus can handle what is thrown at him. He cna most certainly handle a fawning old man!
She tilts her head and look up at Skyfire. "It was not merely a title for war in my time, either, or for leader. Though as with Rodimus, it seemed to evolve into that."
Ah, well. It is easier to participate in the conversation from this point. Saves her neck at least!

Skyfire frowns thoughtfully. "In my time, I think the title had fallen into disuse. I don't know who would have been Prime, back then. But then, there were no wars, no great crisis that called for that level of leadership when I went on my latest exploratory mission."

Saying that he's "just Rodimus" is like saying that... that the Harvester is "just an energon collector"!
Of course, it was only the Fallen who had seemed to lord his status over everyone so much, to enjoy the power he wielded. Perhaps that is one of the marks of a truly worthy Prime: humility.
"The war came long after the Primes," Jetfire replies with a small shrug. He is trying hard to tone down the awe in his tone, in his expression, since that seems to distress Rodimus, however, he will never manage to eliminate the clear and obvious respect he holds the young Prime in. Unless Rodimus were to Fall.
"All of the Primes wielded the power of the Matrix collectively, though I've no idea if they did because they were the Primes, or if they were the Primes because they could. And then the Fallen turned against his brothers, the other Primes, and that's when the war began. That's when I left, switched sides, went into hiding. So much hate. Didn't want any part of it."
His gaze drifts to the large bank of observation windows and the splash of stars spangling the darkness of space. "I did miss exploring, though," he sighs wistfully. A few bolts choose that moment to drop out of his structure and clatter-clink across the floor.

Hot Rod could be a rather arrogant fellow at times, and Rodimus is not without his vanities. It's being honored for what he is rather than for anything he did that's putting the Boy Prime off-balance.
As for Falling, it's far too easy for Rodimus to imagine it. He already stands at the edge of the Abyss, after all.
Rodimus is distracted by the compare-and-contrast-Prime session by the clatter of bolts as they roll across the floor. "Have you, uhm, had that looked at yet?" he asks, deciding that another advantage to his own reality's 'blockier' design, besides good looks of course, is that they hold their insides on the in side, where it belongs. Then he realizes he's not being clear. "Not the exploring bit, you don't need that looked at, I'm sure."
He crouches down to examine several bolts that have rolled near his feet but avoids drawing too close as he visually verifies that they are, indeed, bolts and not, say, Scraplets. Out loud he muses softly, "That reminds me... Botanica, I'm going to need you or Wedge to schedule some rounds to make sure the fire suppression system, particularly any water hoses, around the ship work."
An odd statement, that, if one isn't privy to the line of thought that lead to it!

Botanica reaches over to try and pat Skyfire's arm, if he's close enough. "You know, we really do some updated visuals of this system, and despite Perceptor's bounty here, we will need to stop soon for supplies. Maybe you and Jetfire can make a few runs together. Shake some of the stale off."
About this time, Jetfire drops more bits, and she smiles wryly. "But not until you've had a full tun-up, old man," she says to the Blackbird, "Can't have you falling apart on Skyfire now, can we?"
"But of course Rodimus, I'll talk with him about it after we've all recovered from our indulgences this evening," her tone is curious, "What prompted such a measure?"

Skyfire brightened up a bit. "That's probably a good idea. It would be nice to get out and stretch my wings a bit."
He glanced at Rodimus and nodded. "Fire in space is either quickly extinguished, or catastrophic. Kup's been drilling everyone pretty well, though; as long as the fire suppression systems are working, we're about as well off as we're ever going to be."

"Eh?" Jetfire asks, cocking his head before he peers down at his feet. "Have what looked at?" He lifts one foot before he suddenly recalls that he has precious cargo carefully balanced on one hand.
"Sorry, lass," he apologizes as he plants that foot back on the floor.
"Not exactly a spring chicken here you know," he remarks with a shrug, no longer all that concerned with the crumbs of his rusty parts that this Hansel leaves in his wake. "But I'm not in the smelter yet! Not about to burst into flames, either, lad," he chuckles with a game, cheeky grin.
Imagine, Jetfire, standing here joking about with a Prime!

"Hmmm? Well, I was just thinking about scraplets," Rodimus murmurs in response to Botanica's question. He straightens up and listens to the *fires, giving Skyfire a bright grin and a nod. "That's good to hear. I trust Kup, of course, but sometimes these things just occur to me."
Then the smile turns to an amused smirk which he directs towards Jetfire. Right hand planted at his waist, he asks, "Well, sure you're not, but your losing bits and pieces of you everywhere. Is that normal in old soldiers where you come from?"

"I have every intention of getting our new member here into medical for a good check up, Rodimus," Botanica laughs, "He's been droping bits of himself all night! Old or not, that can't be good, Jetfire!" Her tone is obviously teasing.
hmm, do we want to consider fading out the conversation soonish? Just so we can concentrate on Pz-Zazz?

"Check that corrosion, too," Skyfire says absently. "Oxygen and H2O atmospheres are almost as bad as hot sulphite ones for chewing you up."
He nods at Rodimus. "Well, Kup's thorough enough to have me finally relaxing about the greenhorns in space. I'm not worrying so much that someone's going to get themselves scrapped accidentally."
----- Ready to wrap if you are.

Jetfire waves one hand dismissively. Imagine. A Prime concerned about him!
"Too many years with too little energon," he replies carelessly. Too many years with no support, no medics, not even simple Cybertronian maintenance. Humans may be small and talented, but when they aren't even supposed to know about certain systems, it's hard to get them worked on. Just too many years... well... alone.
It feels cursedly good to walk around on his own two feet and share even something as simple as a glance, much less a word or three, with another bot.
Jetfire turns a suddenly sunny grin upon them all and shrugs cheerfully. "Nothing a good bit of wrenching wouldn't see to, right you are! I'll bet at your service to service - if you'll pardon my colloquialism - whenever you wish, lass!" Funny how he'd never even realize how lonely he'd been until now. He chuckles lightly to himself as he takes another draught from his energon and decides simply to absorb the novelty of company.
"At your service."

Rodimus grins at Jetfire. "Well, those years alone are over now," he answers cheerfully. He inclines his head towards Botanica. "I'm sure you'll have him in shape in no time."
Which is good! The less Rodimus is mistaking random bolts for scraplets, the better!
He then turns that companionable grin towards Skyfire. "Oh, if anyone can keep the kids out of trouble, Kup can." He pauses, then chuckles. "Well, not entirely out of trouble, exactly." After all, Kup couldn't manage it with him! "But still functioning. Thanks, Skyfire, for that update."
He looks around at the others. "Well, this has been fun, but I should probably move on." He looks down at his mostly empty cube and swirls the liquid still in it. "I'm almost dry, and once I'm out, I think it's time to get back to work." He makes a face, then grins. "I'll see you guys around!"
And with that, he starts to wander off.
OOC: Roddy it out. You can call his departure thread-end if you want, but I'll leave it open for a couple of days more, just in case.
