Day 23; Semi-private
Blackarachnia is sitting in one of the common labs, using one of the workstations to peruse what informations she's been allowed on the semiorganics in this odd company. Currently, she's looking over information on the binding process used for those organics-turned-weapons the Mayhems use.
Perhaps she might find some hint therein to help her get rid of organic half.
She's been lucky enough t get the lab to herself. How long that will last, however, is anyone's guess.

Not very long.
"Mixmaster, what pseudo-random number was generated to make you think the iodization magnetodrivers belonged where you put them?" Hook demands as he walks into the lab. However, there is a distinct lack of Mixmaster. There is a distinct lack of anyone but the purple semi-organic female.
Hook crosses his arms. "You would be the other Blackarachnia." His tone of voice has changed entirely, going from irate to clinical. "Good. I need scans of you."

Blackarachnia does not look up.
"No, you do not. Those I agreed to let poke at me have already done so."
Inwardly, she sighs. This was bound to happen sooner or later.

"What a fascinating theory. When you become my superior officer, you may repeat that." He'll ignore you then, too. "Let's go."

"It isn't a theory," she says, continuing to neither look up from her reading or show any concern.
"I don't want anyone poking about in me who doesn't have real experience working on organics and semi-organics, and you don't come from a reality set that qualifies."
A pause.
"Spinister said that was a reasonable request, and there should not be any problems."

"Spinister should consider running such things by me before making agreements regarding the records." Hook tilts his head slightly. "In any case, restricting your repair possibilities to people familiar with organics, limits you to Needlenose and one of the insane chemists."
Yes, there are multiple ones of those.
"Scanning for records is largely non-invasive," he continues because he has been in a good mood previously, and he is feeling not unpleasant. "I expect, given the unfamiliarity of your armor materials, I will have to adjust the scanning equipment before complete scans can be taken. However, I've been having to do that with every different reality. Come to think of it, the settings used for the other Blackarachnia would make the best starting point..."
His voice trails off as he muses on the problem, optic-band dimming as he looks over Blackarachnia's shoulder. There is a flicker of red light as he focuses on her again, smiling slightly.
"With appropriate modification and tweaking, I could do the scans entirely non-invasive." He sounds like he relishes the challenge of such a thing.

"She has some repair skill as well," she finally looks over to meet Hook's gaze, "The small not-quite-me, that is."
She gives the crane the once over. She's seen him few times, though she's avoided him, heard him over the radio and such. He's rather unassuming, really.
Which means he's likely quite dangerous.
"Mmm, non-invasive is the way I like it. But I want the option to walk out if you decide to change those terms on a whim."
She says that like she's used to such happenings.

Hook waves a hand dismissively. "You are speaking to the wrong mech if you want a whimsical engineer working on you. Come along, the equipment is in my lab."
Step into my parlor, said the fly to the spider.

She straightens a bit, then rotates her shoulders back and stretches her neck. "Of course it is, and I'll bet your lab has nice, custom locks on it as well." She gives the barest sigh, then says, mostly to herself, "You aren't going to let me slide on this."
Statement that, not a question.
"I hope so, Hook, for your sake. I don't take well to betrayal."
She'll follow him out, when he leaves.

"Of course it does. Some of the other engineers here have no manners." Hook does understand her point, but he is also perfectly capable of appearing as the engineer-who-sees-only-technology.
Hook leads off down the corridors. It's only a short turn and down another hall to his own lab, and he waves the door open. "Why would I want to betray you, Blackarachnia? You haven't sufficiently annoyed me yet."
The doorframe scans Blackarachnia as she steps through and makes a disquieted tone.
"It's fine," Hook informs the door. "File her under the same accessibility as Hellbender."
The common labs have an unfortunate tendency towards getting a little messed. After all, everyone can use them, and the only one who really maintains them is Starfighter, and that's only when the blue jet is very bored.
Hook's labs gleam. Every tool, instrument, table, piece of scrap is in precisely the right place. It is ordered, neat, nice.

She twitches at the door's protest and Hook's subsequent order.
"What does that mean, same as Hellbender?" she asks, tone slightly suspicious, "We don't exactly have much in common."
The lab's condition is noted with quiet approval. She's always preferred things neat and tidy. Orderly. Though this does go a bit beyond even her own standards.
"At least you know how to properly keep a lab."
She has not moved much past the doorway, it must be noted.

"It means I don't have to give you individual settings, and it won't try to eject you." At least not immediately.
Hook gestures at one of the tables in the middle of the room. There is an apparatus attached to the ceiling above it. "Have a seat or stand. Just do it over there."

"Hmph. I get the feeling that's not a complete answer. Otherwise, you could simply say, 'same settings as average' or some such." But she doesn't press. Not at the moment.
Cautiously, she makes her way to the spot indicated. She stands, and Hook can likely tell that she's tensed and ready to spring away at the slightest hint this is going badly.

"Same settings as average wouldn't let you in at all." Hook doesn't really like people very much.
He saunters over behind her and engages his lifters to pull down part of the apparatus from the ceiling. One touchscreen with keyboard attachment and a wireless wand in one hand.
Hook keys a few things on the screen, then waves the wand in Blackarachnia's general direction. He hnhs at the results on the screen.
---
He just tried to scan her using the other Blackarachnia's basic settings. Up to you how well that works.

Using the other Blackarachnia's stats as a baseline is]/i] a decent enough place to start. The problem is that this Blackarachnia's organic bits are mixed and mesh with her robot bits, instead of being essentially a second skin of sorts. So, while Hook is likely to find some similarities- say in the venom glands and spinnerets- there are probably more differences than he is comfortable with.
Depending upon the type of scan, he might also have a better idea what lies under her helmet now, as well.
"What's the matter, Doc, not liking what you see?" she asks. She snorts. "Most don't."
