Day 40, open thread
There is a blue and white Cybertronian race car leaning against the wall in the lounge, staring out the view port at the stars. Mirage is truly starting to go a bit stir crazy. Oh sure, he's amused himself these past weeks with his various paramours and with teasing his clean freak of a roommate, but he is hoping they make planetfall soon. He's getting rather tired of these same walls. perhaps a little tired of the same people as well.
Mirage craves excitement, something new.
He sighs. He'd take anything right now, even a good row. Maybe he should look up Ultra Magnus.

A red Trans-Am barrels along the corridors of the Event Horizon, screeching round tight corners and vaguely hoping no-one's in his way. Sitting around on a spaceship with no action's liable to drive Windcharger crazy, especially when there's large expanses of ship with no-one in them, so he's taking his fun where he can get it and doing a little exploring while he's at it, taking mental logs of the door signs as he passes them.
He races past a door marked "lounge", before braking hard, leaving dark grey patches of synthetic rubber on the deck.
"Lounge"? That seems like somewhere that ought to have people...
His trunk unfolds, and he rears up into his robot mode, doubling back to where he spotted the sign. He reaches it, hits the 'open' pressure pad, and as the doors slide open, he quickly scans the room.
Okay, there's one people...
"Hey, there. Am I disturbing anything?"
He takes a longer look at the single mech in the room. He tilts his head slightly, and his face makes as close to a quizzical expression as it can. He looks kinda like someone he knows, but kinda not.
"Mirage?"

The lounge is about to have one other bot to offer company, or as much company as he can offer. Prowl walks along the halls, quiet as usual, and pauses at the door of the lounge. He holds his hand up, almost as if he's going knock, but then decides it isn't necessary and enters as well.
He looks over at Windcharger, and then at Mirage, and moves into the room, "Hello," he says simply. "I hope you do not mind my company."

"It's a public lounge," Mirage drawls, glancing towards the door, "And I highly doubt either of you can disturb me, when all I am doing is staring at the stars."
Prowl, Mirage has seen around. Windcharger, he hasn't. In fact, Mirage has no idea who Windcharger is. Standoffish spy was even more standoffish before he wound up on Gillanan, and getting to know the background rank and file was not on his list of To Do's.
"But, yes, that is my name. I assume I look like yet another Mirage you know from some other timeline and all that rot. Perhaps I sound like him as well. I ask that you not assume I act like him, or even know you."
If Mirage sounds terribly bored, that is because he is. He's gotten quite tired of the routine by now.

"Hey, I'm assuming nothin' of the sort - the Mirage I know was reformatted for Earth ops same time I was. I was just checkin' you were you, like the Xaaron fella checked I was me when I got here."
"You," he says, turning to the newly-arrived Prowl and adopting a thoughtful, even slightly suspicious look, "I definitely don't know - although there's something familiar about you. Can't quite put my finger on it. Either way," he brightens up, "Hey. I'm Windcharger."

Mirage's behavior isn't bad, or even unfamiliar. Prowl sees a bit of himself, or at least his actions, in how Mirage acts. He enters the room and moves to sit on one of the chairs, and tilts his head over towards Windcharger.
"You are not from where I am from... So I am confused at how I could be familiar to you," he says, "But it is good to meet you, Windcharger. My name is Prowl."

Mirage shifts to face the room, and lounges back against the wall, arms crossed. Something like his normal arrogant smirk plays at his lips, though it's thinner than normal.
He shrugs, "I don't know a Windcharger, though if Xaaron knew a version of you but not you specifically it's possible we share a timeline. His and Kup's, they have similarities to mine."
"I was not fighting long enough to know too many non-command personnel."
Mirage studies his fingertips for a few moments before glancing up at Prowl. "I'm not sure who you look like to him, but you don't look like the Prowl I know, for sure." His glance grows critical. "Perhaps a few minute stylistic similarities...but very few."

"Prowl, huh?" Windcharger looks slightly thoughtful as he scans the bike-bot's features. "Yeah, that makes sense. We have a Prowl, too. On the face of it, you look waaaay different, but there're a few.... yeah, 'minute stylistic similarities'."
He looks again at Mirage. "You know, I think we might share a timeline. I'm pretty new at this dimension-hopping thing, and I don't know how much our forms are different from one reality to the next, but you certainly look a lot - if not exactly - like our Mirage did when were still back on Cybertron. Do you remember what was going on when you got 'disappeared'? Maybe we can compare it with my memories and see if we can't score a match... "

The stares that are given in mentioning to his looks have become as boring and ignorable as much else in the room. He looks at Mirage, waiting until Windcharger finishes his words, before he raises his voice with his own, "I hear you're quite the spy," he says, "Or so the database says. It is... Good to see you in person rather than the information in the file."
He offers a small smirk for a brief moment. Just a brief moment before he returns to his stoic expression.

Mirage shrugs at Windcharger's question. "Optronix had recently ascended to the title of Prime and given the order to abandon Cybertron. If your past was similar, we probably are from the same reality set. Optimus was not known by that name in any but mine and Ultra Magnus's histories."
Prowl's comment and quick smirk earns a raised browridge from Mirage. "I've some talent in that field, yes." The pride in his tone belies the humility of his words. Then Mirage abandons pretense all together. "And currently the best of the lot, though Rattrap has some unique advantages over me in some areas."

"That scans," Windcharger replies. "Looks like we do share a timeline after all. And Magnus is one of ours, too? Guess I'll have to compare notes with him at some point as well..."

"Ah. I'm a bit curious as where I came from, the cyber-ninja corps were often assigned to such duties," he explains a bit. "Amongst other types of work. Although... Being on Earth changed my own duties." He trails off, at a loss for words. He was interested in meeting Mirage, but at the moment he finds himself facing the spy, he's finding himself with nothing to say!
So instead he shifts almost uneasily, tilting his head to the side and instead observes both Mirage's and Windcharger's looks. "Many call the way I look odd, but the way many others look to me is interesting, as well as a bit odd."

"Mmm, good luck with that Windcharger. Magnus is a touchy fellow." Mirage absently rubs his chin, "Packs a punch, too."
Now of course would be the perfect time for Ultra Magnus to walk in.
He shrugs, the movement graceful and elegant. "I would not say you look odd, really, especially when compared to our partially-organic comrades." A quick look of distaste flits across his features. "Your styling is not one I am familiar with, true. But you, at least, are far from aesthetically unappealing. Do not let it trouble you."
"But this 'cyber-ninja' business..., I am quite unfamiliar with the term."

"...Oooor, maybe I'll just let it lie and take it as read that we're from the same reality," Windcharger decides when he hears of Magnus' temperament. Whether he actually sticks to this resolution or not remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, this talk of 'cyber-ninjas' has piqued his curiosity. Like Mirage, the term is new to him, and he's eager to hear what it's all about.

"Ah.. Cyber-ninjas are a part of the Autobot's army. They guard the secrets of the Autobots with skill and grace unrivaled by any of the other corps," Prowl says after a moment's thinking on how to phrase things. "You may not know the skills by name, but such things as circuit-su and metallikato are some of the prize forms of fighting that the corps is based around. Of course, there are more than those forms of fighting, but it is largely a melee based group."
Prowl is conveniently leaving out the fact that he never finished his training. There's no need for these two to hear that, and they did only ask what a cyber-ninja was.
He holds his arm up, looking at the wheel-based armor there, "My looks have been altered, at least," he says, "By the presence of these mods. I... Have no need to give them up as I feel they'll suit better in this new environment."
