Spy Shot respawns once more and quickly jerks to his feet, stumbling away from Dinobot. Tilting his head, he reflects, "I do not like dying."
He's glad he's never done it before now.
Not much time for reflection now, however. Apparently he's supposed to press the attack. Well, if running away doesn't work, perhaps he can try the opposite. Running full tilt at Dinobot, he attempts to leap onto his foot and grab a hold of his calf.

"You have not been dying. This pain is only an illusion. If you die on the battlefield, you do not get back up," Dinobot states simply as Spy Shot charges at him.
Given the difference in the length of their strides, he could easily avoid the camerabot, but he lets him climb on. It's only once Spy Shot 6 has grabbed hold of his leg that he reaches down to try and dislodge him. "You must keep moving! Stay out of my reach!"

"I know that," he answers, clinging to Dinobot's leg. None of the others like him ever got back up after Sector Seven was through with them. "But I do not like the illusion of dying, so I think I would not like the actual kind of dying either."
Now this is something Spy Shot knows how to do! Dinobot's legs are good for climbing, too. They're ribbed for her pleasure for his climbing ease! He quickly tries to scoot around the back of Dinobot's calf, in an attempt to avoid his grasp, at the same time making his way up towards the Maximal's knee.

Dinobot twists around, more slowly than he usually might, to try and catch Spy Shot 6. If they repeat this exercise in the future, Dinobot will be faster.
Of course, this isn't to say his hand is moving slowly as it darts down to pull the cameraformer off the back of his leg.

Spy Shot almost doesn't notice Dinobot's approaching hand in time. He was paying too much attention to his climbing and not enough on his surroundings. Foolish mistake. He wouldn't have gotten away with that in Sector Seven. Perhaps being around Transformers instead of humans has dulled his survival instincts.
With little time to react, Spy Shot makes sure he has a good grip and foothold on one side, then swings out to face off against Dinobot's hand. Perhaps the Maximal will manage to grab a hold of him, perhaps not, but either way, Spy Shot is shooting a beam of light at his palm.

Losing your survival instincts is an excellent way to lose your life. This problem will have to be rectified swiftly, most likely with violence.
Dinobot hears the tell-tale clicking of Spy Shot's lenses moving that precedes him firing, and manages to jerk his hand out of the way in time for the laser beam to just graze him. His other hand, meanwhile, is already moving to snatch the smaller robot from the other side. Dinobot probably looks really weird with both hands down behind his legs.
Some time later, the dojo long gone, Dinobot, back in beast mode, stalks through a primeval jungle. Hiding from humans is one thing. Ambushing Dinobot in his natural habitat is another. If Spy Shot can do that, then they're making progress.

It is entirely likely that Dinobot's unique training method will rapidly instill an entirely new set of survival instincts in Spy Shot. Ones that involves a healthy caution towards Dinobots instead of making like a cockroach at the sign of a human.
And several psuedo-deaths later, Spy Shot is attempting to stalk Dinobot from the trees above. He may be something like a professional climber, but he's no squirrel or tarsier to go racing through the trees, though he does his best. He's more at home in a concrete jungle of pipes and vents, really. It makes it tricky to follow Dinobot, trying to go fast enough to keep up with him without giving away his position.
At least he has the advantage of being largely fearless, otherwise this would be really difficult.
He's decided to try a path directly over - well, over and behind - Dinobot, with the idea that he'll be less likely to catch a glimpse of Spy Shot in his peripheral vision that way. He creeps along a branch wider than he is, taking peeks over the edge of it to keep tabs on his target. The branch is tapering away, however, and there's a gap between it and the next branch. Judging the distance, he breaks into a run, small feet digging into slick wood, continuing his dash until he feels the thinning twig bow under his slight weight. He leaps, but his balance his off, and he misses his target branch, his claws only managing to catch the edge of a leaf which pops free, sending him tumbling down.
He doesn't fall to the ground, instead being caught in the leafy grasp of a lower branch, making it bob and rustle. He rushes for the larger portion of the branch, trying to get to cover before he's spotted.

It's always healthy to be cautious around Dinobots of any variety.
This particular Dinobot moves through the holographic jungle, which closely resembles a region he's familiar with from prehistoric Earth. He hunts Spy Shot even as Spy Shot hunts him. The sounds the cameraformer makes blend in with the normal rustlings and animal noises of the forest . . . right up until he falls.
The raptor looks over his shoulder, baring his teeth in snarl and sniffing the air, eyes darting around.

Spy Shot flattens himself against the branch and holds himself as still as possible. The wood should be thick enough to block the view of him below. Hopefully.
For the moment, he can only wait. Trying to peek around the branch while Dinobot is on guard is too likely to give him away. He will wait, and try to concentrate on listening to Dinobot's movements, and not get distracted looking at the pretty patterns in the bark he's pressed against. It's a vulnerable position, but he'll wait until it sounds like Dinobot is moving on.

Dinobot sniffs the air again. He detects a faint hint of a mechanoid (other than himself) over the scents of the jungle, but can't pick up on direction. His nose never was as sensitive as the rat's. Of course, how the vermin ever smelled anything over his own stench is a mystery.
He knows Spy Shot 6 is somewhere nearby though, so he starts moving in a spiral search pattern, sweeping through the underbrush in steadily widening circles, head swinging side to side for any sign of his prey, claws ready to grasp and tear.

As Dinobot's footsteps head away from him, Spy Shot quickly scrambles for the tree trunk, keeping to all fours to reduce the likelihood of being seen if Dinobot glances back. Then, gripping the bark tightly, he circles around to put the trunk between himself and the Maximal. But Dinobot is circling! As soon as he notices, Spy Shot continues to move, shimmying around the trunk in a gradual upward spiral, doing his best to keep out of Dinobot's potential line of sight.
It takes awhile for it to click that his target is following a pattern now! Predictable movements mean he can plan, intercept, and ambush. When Dinobot is next at the apoapsis of his circles relative to Spy Shot, the camerabot will attempt a dash to the expected opposite point.

Dinobot is not Tigatron. He does not notice the infinitesimal claw marks on the tree Spy Shot 6 was climbing, though he does notice that the scent of machine oil is stronger there. He continues in his search pattern, but now makes a point of directing his attention upward.

Spy Shot reaches his destination and waits, still and quiet. Just waiting and watching. And there's Dinobot, circling around. It looks like Spy Shot's projections of his path were correct. But... is Dinobot's attention directed more up into the trees now? Spy Shot isn't sure from the quick looks he takes around the branch he clings to for cover.
Well, even if he is, Spy Shot isn't sure he'll get a better chance then this. He will just have to take a risk. When Dinobot passes under, he will drop from the tree like a carnivorous koala and attempt to land on the back of Dinobot's head.

Spy Shot 6 lands on the back of Dinobot's head with a thump. The raptor shrieks and tosses his head, clawing at his head in his efforts to dislodge the camerabot.
If that doesn't work, he may have to resort to drastic measures, like headbutting a tree, or transforming.

Spy Shot clings for at he's worth, claws digging as deep as they can into Dinobot's synthetic skin. Claws rake his body, leaving deep gouges in his back, taking off a leg, threatening to tear him away. But he holds tight, and his most important components remain intact. His lenses swivel into place and he fires a beam of light into Dinobot's head where his belly presses against the Maximal.
Maybe if he can stay in place long enough, his beam will actually be able to penetrate far enough to matter.
