Fleetwind inclines his head in a nod and kicks off and away from the Event Horizon. As he drifts away from the Autobot vessel, he pulls a box with a switch on it from subspace and hits the switch.
Two explosions, two, not five, rock the vessel's bell section, including the one that Fleetwind had just planted. He goes limp, letting the shockwave throw him further away from the vessel, though he is now sporting several new dents and cracks in his armor. Two more explosions happen near the vessel, from the charges Fleetwind had dropped previously.
//My detonator only works for the ones I was given, sir,// he explains.
Surely Starscream didn't expect that Fleetwind would be given the ability to explode a charge that might happen to be in, say, Scourge's hand, did he?

Explosives and explosives belong together! Which is why Whirligig tosses off and detonates another pair of his charges as another of Starscream's missiles comes tearing towards him.
He's still clipping along at a good pace from the first explosion, only using his thrusters to avoid knocking into the ship. The second explosion just adds to his velocity. As a result he ends up whipping past Fleetwind's charges as they detonate, the additional explosion flinging him away at high speed and out of the thread unless Starscream feels like pursuing his pest.
//Wheee-hee!//
Getting back on the Event Horizon is likely to be a slow and painful process.

//Of course it does,// Starscream transmits resignedly. One of the bad things about being a Decepticon is that you have to balance what makes sense from a military standpoint with what keeps your subordinates from killing you.
Starscream shows no interest in pursuing Whirligig. His tanks are getting low. Let the little pest burn up on reentry or perish alone in the blackness of space for all he cares. The thought of either one will keep Screamer warm at night.
No, he flies instead after Fleetwind, making to once again retrieve the Seeker.
