Autobot Interim: Down the Street from Autobase

[Sideburn]

"We're about to move to another spot, in case the bomb goes off." Sideburn looks to Long Haul. "We ready to go? Or does what just got reported make it moot?"

[Long Haul]

Long Haul's already in alt mode!

"Well, they din't say it's been disarmed yet, right? So we move to another spot and hang out until we get told we don't needa, I guess."

His engine starts up with a heavy growl, and the dump truck start trundling another block down the road.

[Grimlock]

Grimlock nods, stepping down off the remains of the cars and falling forward, arms extending a bit to become Dino-mode legs while the rest of him transforms, thundering down the road behind Long Haul.

[Sideburn]

Sideburn quickly drops into car mode and takes off after the other two, quickly catching up.

"Got anyplace in mind, or just whatever looks best when we get far enough away?"

[Long Haul]

"Erm... just whatever looks best when we get far enough," Long Haul answers. And, once they're a block further from where they were before, Long Haul returns to robot mode and says, "Aaaan... I think we're far enough."

He tilts his head, listening to the radio. "Sounds like they might not be needin' this real soon, but y'know... you never want to have to use an emergancy repair spot. I don't guess, anyway."

[Grimlock]

Grimlock glances around once arriving, sniffing at the air a bit before turning to Long Haul, and looking a bit disappointed. "Him got away, it seem. Me Grimlock wanted to smash him...him upset Wheelie" he mumbles, growling softly. Grimlock then transforms and heaves a sigh. "What should me Grimlock do now, then?"

[Sideburn]

With a cry of "Transform!", Sideburn also returns to robot mode. "Maybe we should set up an area just in case we need one again later? It could be used for other stuff in the mean time."

[Long Haul]

Long Haul gives Sideburn a rather baffled look. "Why d'you... shout... when you transform?"

He looks at both Grimlock and Sideburn, and then nods. "Well, I s'pose a back-up area for later might be a good idea, but if that's the case, we want something covered... maybe just gut onna these buildings, pull all the insides out, and use that?"

He turns and searches for one that's large enough... oh, hey, that thing looks like it might have been used to repair the local vehicles, anyway. Then he points. "That looks good. We just needa open it up and pull out anything what doesn't look like it'll be useful to us. I guess."

How'd Long Haul end up in charge?

OOC: Once folks get the IC all-clear from the bomb searchers, this thread's a good option to fade out on, and we can assume the characters get to work or whatnot. That way we can pick up again after the vote in other threads.

[Grimlock]

Grimlock gives both of them a confused look. "Me Grimlock shout sometimes...but mostly to tell other Dinobots to transform."

With that, he transforms, looking at the building Long Haul pointed out. Pulling out his sword, he steps toward the building. "Guess me open it up, then!"

[Sideburn]

Sideburn blinks at the confused looks. "...Y'know, I'm not sure why. It's just something everyone does in my universe. I've never thought about it."

He nods at Long Haul's plan. "That sounds good to me. Let's do it!" He grins and waits for one of them to open up the building.

And Long Haul's in charge because he's the only one with any clue how to get an area set up!

[Long Haul]

Long Haul's shoulders and arms lift slightly and his general pose perks up as Grimlock draws his sword. "Wow!" he exclaims. "Neat sword!"

This Grimlock seems like a pretty decent sort! Even if he does talk a bit funny and comes across as gruff over the radio. Certainly no worse than Bonecrusher, though.

He nods his head. "Yeah, might as well take the whole front off it. Leave the other three walls anna ceiling. D'you want help? I ain't got a sword, but can pull the panels off, only I don't wanna get in your way."

He looks back at Sideburn. "So you guys just... shout when you're transformin'... just because?" He rubs the back of his head. "Sounds like that could get noisy, if you got a lot going on and a lotta people transforming and stuff."

[Grimlock]

Grimlock nods to the suggestion of removing the single wall, crouching down and jamming the blade into the side of the building, coming up with it to trace the edge up to the top, and then doing the same with the other side, and along the bottom. "...hmm." Stepping back, Grimlock tugs the wall back a bit. "Me Grimlock say hold this so me can cut top off."

Once Long Haul does take hold of the wall, Grimlock steps under, and cuts the final edge of the wall. However, Grimlock is not all that familar with construction projects, and with him being right under it and not supporting it with his free hand...the wall comes down and conks the Dinobot on the head. Thankfully, Grimlock's hard-headed, so it doesn't do much more than scuff his noggin. Reaching up, he grabs it with one hand, subspacing his sword and turning around, moving out from under it and holding his side. "Where we put this?"

"When we transform, with different specialty attacks... And I wouldn't know about it being noisier, since everyone's always done it, even the 'Cons."

Sideburn watches with interest as the other two work on opening the building.

[Long Haul]

Long Haul watches Grimlock ignore the conk on his head. Yup. A lot like Bonecrusher. His shoulders shake in a silent chuckle.

"Specialty attacks?" Long Haul asks. He grunts. "I can, erm, punch." This is because he was taken from before he could combine!

The Constructibot takes hold of the building front and says, "Eh. I've got it. I'll just shove it into this alley next to the building." And he does so. He leans back and peeks into the building. "Hey, it's got, erm, hydrolawic lifter things. We can use 'em as is for alt modes, and throw a sheet of metal across 'em for tables!" He grunts. "I figure we can pull out everything else, though."

[Grimlock]

Hearing discussion of combat prowess, Grimlock grows suddenly interested. "Me Grimlock's specialty be smashing Decepticons...or bashing...or stomping..."

He stops, taking a thoughtful look, cupping his chin with his hand, and his elbow with the other. "...me good at getting rid of Decepticons in general." he says, nodding. "Optimus normally called Dinobots in when him get in over his head...but Rodimus better, know to treat Dinobots like equal beings, not trump card weapons." Grimlock makes his rambly point while removing the junk from the building that Long Haul said was useless, doing so a bit haphazardly by chucking it where-ever.
