Ah, so Shrapnel does have a mode that does not very loosely make Wreckage think of Scorponok. Helpful. And one Wreckage recognises, for that matter, as the Decepticon he saw with Demolishor some while ago in camp. That must have been a rare outing for the Insecticon. The Stryker pays little mind Shrapnel's first remark; as far as he is concerned – not very far at all, in fact – the birds can just be scared.
"Hn," he grunts, mostly in response to Cannonball, though it serves just as well to acknowledge Shrapnel. "…Tower?" he queries more directly. The sensor array should take priority, but mapping is a secondary objective and information could be useful.

Cannonball scowls. "Scarin' things be jus' one o' th' many things I be good at." He then smirks. "There be more important things at 'and 'ere. Like this tower ye jus' mentioned. Wot manner o' tower?"

Decepticons never did understand that Insecticons didn't babble. But they'd find out about the birds sooner or later.
"There's a sunken tower deeper in." Shrapnel points towards it. In that direction, there is no road. The dark waters of the swamp reflect only the twisted, dark trees that stoop under the weight of sunlight. "There is a door, but it is too heavy for me, for me."

So, there is no easy path to this sunken tower with a door too heavy for Shrapnel to lift, and no more information on it than that. At least if he was deployed to a conflict zone, Wreckage knew roughly what to expect. This tower could be absolutely nothing of note – an utter waste of their time – or it could be… something else, for better or worse. Never let it be said Wreckage is one of the more imaginative Decepticon soldiers off the battlefield.
"…We see to the sensor array first," he decides, double-checking the coordinates and casting a critical gaze at the surrounding buildings. The array itself is off the road, it seems after a quick check of the map data in his memory banks, and a short walk further into the swamp. Very well; priorities are priorities. He starts in that direction… and on his first step sinks almost knee-deep into the malodorous morass, narrow and sharp-edged foot knifing its way down and providing little resistance. There is a faint tic of one facial plate as he feels the muck seeping into his ankle and his olfactory shutters snap closed. Fortunately, he can make himself ignore the sickening sensation of organic matter eking its way into his joints. He does not particularly look forward to cleaning it all out later, but what must be done… must be done.
Shrapnel is free to follow or not; Wreckage cares little either way, says the look he turns back to the other Decepticons, but it would be in Cannonball's best interests to get moving.

Cannonball does indeed get moving, though he takes to the air, hovering beside Wreckage. He watches how the mech has trouble with the muck, and can't help a quiet snicker.
"I'd offer t' give ya a lift, lad, but I think yer a mite bit 'eavy for me."
Cannonball glances back at the Insecticon. "That is, unless our tour guide be willin' tae assist us. Sooner we're gone, sooner we're oot o' 'is buisiness, aftah all." The bugbot, did fly down, it makes reasonable sense to Cannonball that he can fly in robot mode as well.

Shrapnel 'water-strides' along behind the other two Decepticons - he lets his lifters keep him just close enough to the water that he makes footprints as he passes.
"No, no. Not carrying any tanks or APCs." Been there, done that, left Demolishor to fend for himself with the flying shark.
Now, was the orm nest over this way or in the other direction...?

Wreckage takes another awkward step, then another, slowly finding a workable pattern to get him through the swamp bottom by using his inherent pointiness to his advantage; what slices in so easily can also slice back out, given a good angle. All the while, he deliberately keeps a stony face, even when Cannonball muffles that minuscule laugh at him. He has the sudden urge to grab the pirate and shove him under. He does not follow through, but the cold glare he turns Cannonball's way says he very easily could. And leave him there for a while.
"I do not require assistance," he says instead, voice flat and icy. It is his walking speed that has been limited, not his capability to walk. However, he concedes to himself as he feels the split-second change in resistance of something that was probably alive before his foot found it and pauses to shove a fallen tree out of his way, he might envy this primary mode flight business. Just slightly. "Since you are in the mood to be so helpful, make use of it and move ahead," he adds.

Cannonball lets out a sigh at the Insecticon. Not that he expected cooperation to begin with, but still a mite frustrating.
And back to Wreck--Oh, geez, Unicron below, that glare. Geez. Another point against that hint of a sense of humor the APC had shown. "Fine, fine. See ye when ye get there, lad."
And with that, the pirate is off toward the array.

Shrapnel patiently water-walks behind Wreckage until they get there. He knows where this place is perfectly well. He's been keeping an eye on it, after all, impatient for Kickback and Bombshell to arrive.

Luckily for Wreckage, he has no cause to worry about points toward or against his sense of humour. Cannonball can think him an uncharismatic bore lacking the slightest hint of wit for all he cares so long as the pirate remembers he is not stupid.
Merely… a little slow at the moment. That Shrapnel hangs back rather than go with Cannonball is… unexpected, supposes the warrior as he wades along. Not that he really knows at all what to expect of Shrapnel. Whatever works for the little Insecticon, and at least he knows how to keep quiet. It makes this whole situation that much less irksome and catching up to Cannonball that much easier, despite finding a hips-deep patch along the way.
Yes, Wreckage is slightly muddy. Cannonball is free to laugh at his own risk.

Cannonball has since arrived at the array, and given it a look over. Once Wreckage and Shrapnel arrive, he turns to them, his hand on his hip. "Ev'rthing looks tae be in workin' order, far as I kin tell. Figger you kin look too, since ye did come all the way over through th' slop."
If this is all one-eye wanted them to do, it should be easy enough.

Yep, the sensor array is still where it's been the last half a dozen times Shrapnel popped by to see if Kickback or Bombshell had shown up yet. Which he could have told them if they'd bothered to ask.
The Insecticon snaps his fingers as a thought occurs to him. "You probably want to look at the bodies, bodies."
The sensors had to be arranged fairly carefully to keep them from just sinking into the swamp. They are also conveniently near a thicket of the twisted black trees. Except... Some of those tree-branches are too straight. And there's an exceptional amount of dead brush thrown over the branches, in comparision to the unhealthy-looking but living foliage on similar trees
Shrapnel water-walks over there and pulls away a screen of dead leaves. Underneath it, among the thicket, are two very obviously dead Transformers.
A massive black and haze-grey Transformer of Wreckage's general phenotype lies partially sunk into the swamp. Circled stars with wings decorate his forearms, and visible on a half-raised calf is 'US', but the rest is covered in the black muck. Hemispherical engines bracket a head with a face that is all points and planes.
The other is a gold and red robot with an Autobrand in the middle of his chest. Red wings sprout from his upper arms, and white intakes top his shoulders. But the rest of the transformation is wrong for a Seeker, even without the Autobrand. There seems to be some slight bending at the edges of his chest, but no obvious death-wound.
---
And this would be Blackout from the '07 movie and Metalhawk from Transformers Masterforce.

Wreckage gets to look, too? How gracious a concession. Rather than approach, however, he stops – once he finds ground slightly more solid than the spongey mire below the muck to support his weight. "If the array is verified in working order," he intones, "that is enough." He still has the walk back to the roadway, and possibly the walk to whatever tower Shrapnel was rambling about. He has learned his lesson and would like to minimise further need of hoofing it. Even if it means they have to cut short their tour of Shrapnel-Land. Or perhaps not; the Insecticon's prompt of "bodies" draws Wreckage's attention and he swivels at his waist only to avoid compromising his footing, following this strange, impromptu guide of sorts as Shrapnel wends his way to a copse of the local timber, such as it is, and proceeds to pick away at it. Wreckage watches and remains silent, unfazed by the dead. He does not recognise the more colourful of the two – decidedly from one of the other realities where paint that garish somehow counts as a disguise – but that still, grey hulk… that one, Wreckage knows. The Lord High Protector's faithful hound, loyal and most trusted of all… and there he lies, half-submerged, dead. "…Hn." Wreckage froze briefly when the realisation first sank in. It was a moment's weakness he will not repeat. "Bodies. So they are." Pronouncing his familiarity with Blackout to his current companions seems almost ridiculous; the connections will be made between their builds, unless Cannonball and Shrapnel are blind fools. His report to Shockwave is somewhat more forthcoming.

"Bodies? Eeesh. After all th' stuff ah've 'eard, startin' tae think that the dead outnumber us..." Cannonball mumbles this to himself, hovering a bit closer, while he watches Shrapnel uncover the two.
Huh... The Autobot looks vaguely like the Starscream from Cannonball's universe... If you turned your head and squinted while you were overcharged. The Decepticon, however...
Cannonball turns to Wreckage. "That ugly buggah a friend o' yers?" Cannonball is not a blind fool, no sir.
