Doing the timeskip now. There's too much not happening.
Fleetwind isn't the fastest of the group, but he's one of the faster ones, and during the trip he's darting up ahead as much as possible. Combine that with his longer ranged sensors, and it's no wonder that he sees it first.
For once, his voice is not eager. In fact, it's soft... solemn.
The Seeker delivers the bad news over the Decepticon frequency.
//Starscream, sir.// He hesitates just a moment, then continues. //I see smoke. Looks like it's coming from the Autobot headquarters.//
He doesn't add the next words. They hang unspoken on the frequency. We're too late.

On the ground, Cannonball rumbles along with the other ground-pounders, and his speed dips for a second as Fleetwind speaks on the line.
//Oh, bugger...//

//Blast it all. Decepticons, ready your weapons, we could be entering a hot zone. Fleetwind, who else is there? What else can you tell me?//
Starscream doesn't really know what the next step is. There has not yet been a military procedural manual written about how to establish contact with an good-alternate version of your sworn enemies when they've been driven into hiding by the evil-alternate versions of yourselves. The alternative--that they've been decimated--is not something he is allowing himself to consider.

// Weapons at ready and on high alert, sir. //
Sky-Byte's flight is slightly behind that of the fliers and before the ground units. He doesn't really have much in terms of alt-mode weaponry, but this shark's ready to barrel and clamp down on an enemy's fuselage--with refinement and precision though, of course.

Uttering a low, uneasy growl Skystrike brought his weapons online and stretched his sensors out across the skies as far as they would reach. It’d become a reflex to do that now, whenever the sight of Autobot created carnage greeted them. Who knew if the Autobot jets were lingering around in the air searching for other prey to sate their sick desire for so-called ‘art’. Or if Skyfire was around.
//Weapons at ready, sir.// Skystrike growled softly. There was a moment’s hesitance before the berkut tried his best to dredge up what little optimism he had and spoke up again. //Our Autobots like destroying anything everything. They have a debilitating kink for wrecking already empty cities, we all know that. The Autobots here have probably retreated by now if they know what is good for them. It’s probably not as bad as it seems.//

Smoke. As intangible as air, and yet, as concrete a signpost as a marker carved in stone. Hopefully that isn't anyone's grave marker hanging in the sky.
// Perhaps, sir, we should split up, then? // Barricade suggests. // To scout along the territory that the... alternate Autobots might have evacuated to? //
There has to be something that they can do, even if they are too late to stop the actual assault itself. There has to be some pieces left to pick up and put back together. Barricade refuses to believe otherwise; he'll hold fast to his hopes and dreams. It's part of what makes him a Decepticon, after all.

Dead End could keep up with the jets as long as they didn't transform. He didn't like what he was hearing. The need to do something ate at him, but his loyalty to Starscream forbade him to let their leader charge blindly into disaster. Dying would accomplish nothing.
// Sir, I'm picking up a number of active targets in the open square in the southeast quadrant. One of them matches Skyfire's profile... and the rest seem to be Decepticons. Sir. If they have a Dead End there--and any of several profiles might be him at this range, they will spot us if we don't sheer off and get below radar. //
--- Note: approach takes place during immediate aftermath of the battle, and Dead End has spotted Hook's field hospital on his radar

Midnight's lumbering flight lags behind the swifter jets, but he can see the smoke rising from the ruins. At Dead End's warning, he dives, skimming just over the nap of the earth like a helicopter--a particularly large Soviet helicopter with very heavy weaponry.
// Yer a spoilsport, Dead End. Better we catch 'em still mopping up, when they got their backs turned. Orders, Commander? // queried the belligerent jet.

Flying farther back with the ground troops, Blackout grunts. Sometimes he wonders if he should've scanned a faster craft, if he could find one that would accommodate his bulk. //Would you care to offer yourself to the Prime, Midnight? Or to Skyfire? Even if they are injured, which we can't count on, we're badly outnumbered.//

OOC: Timeline adjusted to put this after the battle on the same day. This means that the 'Cons-3 will have to spend a few days looking for the 'Bots-1 before they can find them, but that's what handy dandy time-skips are for.
The Seeker makes his report over the radio, then dives down to minimize the distance at which he can be spotted. He's known for being brave, but the reason he's survived being brave for as long as he has is because he's also clever. Also, very, very lucky. But clever has something to do with it. //May be best to do as Barricade suggests, sir. I can take the sector near Autobase,// he volunteers.

//Weapons ready.// Like Fleetwind, Needlenose dives down. He carefully watches the area below, ahead, around.
//Starscream, sir, have you heard from Spinister, yet?// While Needlenose could easily call Spinister himself, he'd prefer not to provide unnecessary distractions. He knows what Starscream's in the middle of, and knows he's not distracting anything delicate.
OOC: Both Fleetwind and Needlenose are still skippable.

Cannonball does not call down his cyber key for weapon activation. He remains as he is, as swirling clouds and a shiny fraction of Primus' power would be a sliiiiight giveaway of their position and existance.
//I be secondin' th' splittin' up. We kin more than likely find the alternate Autobots a good deal quicker that way.//

Starscream sighs. "Break off, Decepticons. Turn around and get out of range of Dead End's radar. We need to find another means of locating the Autobots. They might have spotted us though, so stay sharp."
"Needlenose, yes. He's found a local, and is administering repairs. She's reluctant to disclose information, however."
He takes Barricade's thoughts under suggestion. "Scourge, dispatch your spy units as you see fit. Fleetwind, take some fast aircraft and go scouting. The rest of the aircraft can go with me, and the ground units can run on its own. Report back the moment you discover something from these good Autobots." Goodbots?
Starscream does a 180-degree turn and makes some distance between himself and the ruins.

Fleetwind transforms, swinging his feet forward to break his forward flight and, indeed, begin flying in the other direction. Once he's moving slightly backwards, he leans back and transforms once more, rocketing away in robot mode.
"Gotcha, boss!" he shouts back. "Don't worry, we'll find them!" With that, he then swerves and veers off towards the south. "Duskwing, Skystrike, Starfighter, you guys qualify. Let's get to it!"
OOC: Out of thread. I'll be starting a seperate thread for the fliers later this evening. May involve a substantial timeskip.

//Here’s hoping they don’t notice the extra Decepticons flying around.// Skystrike snorted. //So it seems we’re not getting any help from the people we’re trying to help either, are we?// Typical. Of course, it wasn’t like they were going to trust Autobots, good or otherwise, at the drop of a hat. It was only logical that there would be initial distrust. The real question was whether or not they’d ever get to point where mutual trust could be achieved.
Scowling quietly as he pondered that, the blue jet half-listened to Starscream orders before breaking out of his reverie when Fleetwind asked him to come along. “Sure thing, Fleety!” Although the prospect of hanging out with Starfighter wasn’t necessarily appealing.
He doesn’t bother to transform just yet, preferring to utilize his jet form’s maneuverability to turn and follow his pastel yellow teammate.
OOC: Outta the thread!
