Waking Up At the Temple Doorstep

[Springer]

OOC: This takes place on Day 15, one day into the Autobot/Decepticon-3 Truce, and the day AFTER Grimlock's Naked Adventure Time, roughly during the same time as Arena: Security Sweep.

Well, Springer is already awake, and has been for several minutes now. Chatting with Perceptor and this guy called Xaaron has rattled him into quite the awake state. For now, he's sitting on the ground, legs drawn close, and arms resting on his knees, deep in thought and conversation over radio. To the world around him, he's silent, save for cycling air.

[Firebolt]

"Dum-dee-dum, hum-bee-hum," Firebolt hummed as she carefully clambered up the small paths to the temple, acting more like it was a rock climbing wall than a sacred place. She carried a bag full of stuff that she'd been collecting, finding stuff to decorate her 'home' in the forest with.

There was a metallic shifting noise that wasn't her own that made her stop and listen carefully. One of her ponytails fan out as she listens, and then peeks over the edge of a ledge to see another Transformer she doesn't recognize sitting there, looking pensive. She peers a bit more before carefully hoisting herself over the ledge, her hand half ready to reach for her boomerang.

"Y-o...?" She called out.

[Springer]

Springer wasn't expecting to be spoken to so soon, so he is slightly startled, and up on his feet, looking over at where the sound came from. That... Is definitely not Perceptor. That also does not have a faction symbol, and is apparently reaching for something. Springer doesn't draw one of his own guns, but raises an arm to the mysterious red robot. He did promise Perceptor he wouldn't shoot, but the geekbot never said he couldn't aim.

"Identify yourself."

[Firebolt]

"I am Firebolt, erm... Autobot from... Uh that place where Sideburn and Wedge and the new guy come from," She pointed back and forth, thinking this was a decent enough explanation. "And and... Who're you?" She scratches at her head, eyeing him. She wants to say he looks 'wonky and different' but then again, there are lots of crazy lookin bots around. She's also learned to be more quiet instead of spouting stupid opinions.

"Oh, here, I... I got a peace offering, if that means anything?" She reaches in her bag of stuff and pulls out a rock that's in a neat looking spiral shape, rather unnatural but then again, this planet isn't exactly normal anyway.

[Springer]

"I don't know any Sideburn and Wedge, and as far as I know, I'm the new guy" he answers, his arm relaxing slightly. This new 'bot seemed nice enough, but he didn't know if it was one of the good Autobots, or one of the evil ones. Better to err on the side of caution, he supposed.

And just what were those things on his head?

"Uh...you can keep the rock, but thanks. I think..." he says, looking a bit befuddled. "Name's Springer, Commander of the Wreckers. And... very, very confused, to say the least. Don't suppose you happened to see Perceptor headed this way, did you?"

[Firebolt]

Phew. Relax. He doesn't wanna shoot. "OOH! You've been to Earth then, when'd you come from, cos I came from Earth too, and all sorts of fun things!" She clapped her hands together and then walked over and plopped down to sit near Springer, not close, but not far either.

"Dunno about Mr. Perceptor, but I was out here already, getting stuff," she gestured over to her bag o' goodies and then looked up, half thinking. She realized he was staring at her satellite dish and then she giggled and twitched her head to the side, which caused it to collapse back up to ponytail-form. "So... You look confused. Mebbe I can help?"

[Springer]

"Earth? No, never been there. That's Prowl's outpost, and..." He pauses. "Let's just say Prowl and I have our differences."

Funny, this one acts more like a civilian than an Autobot. Finally, his arm slacks completely, and he sits back down. "Perceptor told me to stay put here until he could get out here. And not to shoot anyone. Between what him and that Xaaron guy said, I seem to have stumbled into some kind of crazy mess." He glances down at the ground with a half-hearted chuckle. "And not the kind I'm used to. Throwing all the firepower I can muster at it won't fix this."

[Firebolt]

"Oh... Sad, you've never been there," she frowned, crossing her arms and looking sad. But her mood swung right back to being happy.

"Ooh yea, it's really crazy out here. There's Decepticons that think they're Autobots, and there are Autobots who think they're Decepticons, and there are all sorts of crazy Autobots that make me think I'm normal," She said, shrugging slightly. "I'm sure you'll find a way to fit in though, cos people always find people they somehow know around here. I bet you three dollars that you'll find somebody you know!"

[Springer]

Springer chuckles faintly. "I don't know what dollars are, but I know there's a Perceptor here. Not mine, but still a Perceptor."

Looking over at the strange little red robot, his head tilts to the side slightly, deciding to press his luck. "You seem like you've been here a while. Seen anyone that goes by the name of Broadside, Roadbuster, Sandstorm, Scoop, Topspin, Twin Twist, or Whirl?"

[Firebolt]

"Uh... Wat," she says, after a good moment of thinking. "No... No never heard of any of them," she shrugs, "I'm not one to ask about stuff though, not with the," she makes quote-y fingers here, "'in crowd' that knows what's going on here for reals. I do like to keep an eye out though. But nobody showed up with those names."

"Oh hang on. Paranoia's kicking in, gotta make sure nothin's around that'll hurt me," Firebolt holds up a finger as she does a quick sonar scan. "You can NEVER be too sure, right? Right," she agrees with herself quickly. "I'll hang with ya if ya want, cos you were told to hang here... I know how it sucks to be alone and stuff, so company is cool while we wait, huh?" She said, glancing to the side at Springer while she finished her scan.

[Springer]

O-kay. This is starting to get a little more crazy than it started out.

"I...uh... appreciate it, I think."

An awkward moment or two, and then he glances over again. "What's the ..uh, what'd you call it... The 'in-crowd'? Who's part of that?"

[Firebolt]

She shuts down her satellites and then plops back down, rubbing at the side of her head. "Well, it's not like, a clique, but I call 'em the people in charge. Like Kup, n' Xaaron, and Perceptor, and I think that one guy who's an Optimus Prime from another dimension. I really trust the old-guys though, cos they've been around for a while! Are you an old guy? You look like an old guy... OOPS."

Firebolt slams a hand over her mouthplate and looks away. "I try not to make comments like that I am sorry, but sometimes they slip... I hafta learn to talk better around others."

[Springer]

For the first time in a while, Springer actually laughs. "Oh, no, I'm not one of the old guys, at least not yet. More than likely older than you, but definitely not one of 'the old guys'." Springer can't help but snicker at thinking of Perceptor as old, though. Shaking his head, he waves his hand. "Don't worry about it...what was it, Firebolt? Takes a good deal to get under my armor." He sighs, going back to answering her question. "While I may not be one of the 'old guys', I did confer with some of them back home. Optimus, mainly."

[Firebolt]

Firebolt laughs along with him, and then bounces slightly as she sits. "You're one of the NICE older guys," she declares. She glances around and then holds her hand over her mouth and leans over, "Some of them are REALLY. STIFF."

She leans back to a normal sitting position and then shrugs. "I hope YOU don't end up stuffy cos you're important Mr. Commander Man. Also, how long did they say you had to wait here? Cos it'd suck if it were like, five days or something."

[Kup]

Firebolt can probably hear it first: the rumbling of a kup truck's engine as it bounces along the overgrown, badly maintained road that leads to the temple. However, it's not much after when Springer should be able to hear as well. And soon after that, the source can be seen.

This is the sort of drive that, in other circumstances, Kup would quite enjoy. Unlike Arcee and Swerve, the first Autobots to ever drive along this path, he's built for off-roading, and doesn't bother to slow down for every crack in the way or root creeping across the path. Instead, he bumps along in a manner that's almost merry. After all, even in bad circumstances, it's hard not to enjoy what one is built for, and a Springer showing up out of no where and claiming he should be comatose is hardly the worst thing Kup's been through.

Of course, this all no doubt makes it a rough ride for Perceptor.

He skids into a stop just 'outside' the temple (although the open air design really makes it difficult to tell where temple ends and jungle begins), his green-gray Cybertronian truck form facing directly at Firebolt and Springer. He gives Perceptor all of five seconds to scramble out of his bed, and then transforms and takes a few easy steps towards the pair.

"Springer." Then he nods to Firebolt. "Hey, lass. So I see you managed to find the new arrival first, huh?"
