Springer draws his knees up a bit, hunching slightly and resting his arms on his knees. "Well, he corrected me and Rodimus in that you're female, not male. That's...about it, actually." Springer then blinks at the reaction about his comment on repairs. "Well, s'pose that's true. I'd just never expect Grimlock or Slag to try repairing things. Unless they were doing it so that they could smash it again."
Then he turns his attention to Jetfire. "Don't worry about it. We got out of it in one piece, and kept the Decepticons from kidnapping our little friend here. That's more important than how much we damaged them."

Jetfire looks Bambi up and down as Springer brings up the earlier gender confusion surrounding her on the radio. She certainly seems female enough to him. Oh, not especially girly or anything, but she still definitely seems like a fembot to him.
Curiously, he asks, "Are you knowing Optimus Prime, then? I am thinking I am knowing him, but he is not knowing who is me, so I am not sure."
He lets Bambi continue to work without anymore pouting about the pain, but still looks a little sullen about the battle. "I should set 'Cons on fire more." He is just being too much of a scaredy-bot to am the moment. For shame! "But coming out in single piece is good too."

Bambi stares over at Springer with a steely glare, and she writes out in the dirt, because she really wants Springer to understand this:
I am NOT your 'little' friend'. I am not your anything friend. I will help you today because I do not like the Decepticons, but you know what? I do not like Autobots, either. Do not get any ideas.
Disorder of the speech cortex. Bambi can write perfectly well. She's even a published author in her home reality. She points at the message in the dirt for a long moment with a clawed finger.
Then, Bambi briskly turns and returns to playing the puzzle game that is repairing Jetfire; he is awfully more complex than a simple truck. However, she's used to piecing together mysterious objects from mere fragments, extrapolating and reading between the lines. She sticks to only piecing together the parts of Jetfire that she is sure go together. He'll need better repairs when he gets home, but these are a start. She grumps, "Me Bambi knows him Optimus Prime. Me from him Optimus Prime's future. Maybe that why you not know him."

Springer stares at the message a bit, piecing it together with the assistance of some language packs picked up off-screen, as he's not been to Earth in his reality, and grows a bit solemn as it falls on him.
"Ah, my apologies, did not intend to presume." Then he glances back at the message. Guess that old "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" doesn't work out with this Dinobot. She may be smarter than Grimlock and Slag, but she's definitely as stubborn, it seems. This...will be difficult, if not impossible. Should they use force? It's not a very Autobot thing to do, but Xaaron was wanting her returned if at all possible. If they use force, they probably will have to wind up treating her like a prisoner, since she doesn't like Autobots either.
He ignores Jetfire for the time being, as this issue is a little heavier. "Okay... I'm gonna be level with you, miss. Our orders were to rescue you from the Decepticons, and to take you back to base with us, if possible," he says, looking down at the message again, sighing softly. "Given what you've said, that doesn't look very likely. We're not going to take you against your will, we're not those kind of 'bots." She's capable of being reasonable and thinking for herself, after all. There's no need to be forceful with the 'right' decision.

As Bambi makes his temporary repairs, Jetfire glances back and forth between her and Springer, tilting his head to try and read what she wrote then listening to what he has to say. So they are not going to retrieve her, even if it is against her will? Well, that is good, because he would feel kind of bad about that given that she is being so nice and helping him. He would do it though, if it was a direct order.
Still, he adds, "You should come with us, though! Why not to like Autobots?" Well, Sentinel Prime could be a pretty good reason himself, but that thought doesn't occur to him. Allspark forbid that Bambi had met him before getting pulled here, to add to her other, more serious complaints.
Jetfire lets the subject of Optimus Prime and time confusion go by the wayside, in face of the more important topic of whether or not Bambi is coming with them.

Bambi stares at Springer, her shoulders hunching up and her lips peeling back in an expression that is anything and everything but a smile. She looks ready to go for the warhammer again.
Take her back to the Autobots? Kidnap her, essentially? That's what the Decepticons wanted to do! That's why she got into that fight with Duskwing and then that horrible fight with Blitzwing. (Where is Wingwing?)
She relaxes just a fraction as Springer says that he and Jetfire aren't the kind of 'bots who would force. Bambi grumbles, almost sarcastic, "Then me lucky that kind of 'bots that would not here?"
Her glare turns to Jetfire as he asks why she doesn't like Autobots, and she growls out, "Me Bambi had brothers. Dinobots. Autobots killed them. Now it just me Bambi. One Dinobot. Alone. Betrayed by Autobots."
Bambi would write a treatise on effect of McCarthyism on Autobots if she ever met Sentinel Prime.

Springer recoils slightly when Bambi gets her hackles up - he's already had his face smashed once today, and he doesn't want a second round of it. Thankfully, she calms down, and Springer does too.
"Well, if you don't plan on going with us, or with the Decepticons, what are your plans, if I might ask?"
Then she drops a bombshell, and glances over at Jetfire, since they seem to be from the same reality, by the way they're talking. "...Autobots killed the Dinobots? I... Not to offend, but I find that a little hard to believe."

Jetfire looks first shocked and then very sad. Losing a brother is something he can definitely empathize with. If other Autobots had killed Jetstorm then he... he would... well, he would not want to stay with the Autobots that is for sure. Solemnly, he says, "If that is case, then is very good reason."
He nods vigorously at Springer's questioning, though. "Autobots are not supposed to kill! Even real badness-bots are only to be captured and held prisoner. None killed." Killing is for Decepticons.

Bambi does not think that either Springer or Jetfire are good enough liars, just based off their shirt interactions thus far, to fake those kind of reactions. It gets her thinking, and she's not sure she likes where her thoughts are going.
She pulls out a battered newspaper and flips to the article that explains the rampaging animatronic dinosaurs and assures the public that they were smelted and safety is again ensured. A little sheepishly, Bambi admits, "So maybe they went on huge rampage. That not good, me know, though huge rampages pretty tempting. But smelted? They no even get trial!"

Springer peers carefully at the paper she holds, frowning. Though, his frown might not be very discernible with his face the way it is.
"I'm not sure how things are in your reality, but from what I've seen here, the Dinobots we have tend to misbehave a fair bit. Their discipline is one of our higher officers threatening to not tell them stories like they like so much..." He makes a somewhat confused face here. It makes some strange bit of sense, he guesses. "But no smelting, nor any threats of it. That... Guh, I don't even know what to say."

The paper just further troubles and confuses Jetfire as he scans it, face falling into a frown. "But... but trouble is taken care of with capturing in stasis cuffs, putting in cell, maybe being sent to the stockades! Not smelting!"
He glances up at Bambi, "Are you sure it is not being these little humans who is to blame?" After all this is their paper from their planet. Who knows what crazy punishments they have come up with? The majority of his exposure to their culture was looking at buildings and watching two 'Bots play a 'video game' where they were little organics who beat each other up. Not that he has anything against the idea of video games- er, never mind. Jetfire is just having trouble believing that Autobots were behind this.

Bambi puts the paper away and seems to be quoting something, "All necessary for triumph of evil is good men do nothing." Quoting Edmund Burke badly, but okay.
She pulls out a bit of scrap metal form the toolbox and sizes Jetfire up thoughtfully. May as well beat the scrap metal into shape and use it to patch some of the holes in his armour, so he doesn't get dirt inside on the way back. Dirt inside airplanes is bad, right? Bambi starts to bend the metal over her knee.
Bambi clarifies a bit, "Them Autobots helped them humans. Big heroes, them humans say. Superheros." She snorts derisively, showing she clearly thinks little of such an assessment. "Them Autobots aid and abet. They do nothing. Me Bambi think, maybe they not such good men."

Springer looks rather troubled now.
He's not sure what to make of the whole situation. Granted, he doesn't know enough of the facts of what happened to make a proper observation, but he doesn't know that either.
"I am sorry that this happened... Still find it hard to swallow, though." Maybe he needs to talk to Prime when he gets back home.

Jetfire opens his mouth, as though to say something, but ends up closing it without uttering a word. He stands silently, running Bambi's words over in his head. 'All necessary for triumph of evil is good men do nothing'? That is something for him to think about.
Finally he says, "I am sorry, too. I am also having brother and am now alone. But he is not... not smelted-" He looks ill at the thought. "-Just not being here."
He is confused as to why a group of Autobots who went out of their way to try and clear the name of an escaped traitor-who-was-not-actually-a-traitor would simply let a group of 'Bots be destroyed without a trial.

Bambi also doesn't have all the facts, and while the actual facts would make her slightly less angry, she'd still be angry.
She is getting the impression that both Springer and Jetfire strongly disapprove, which at least improves her option of Autobots to "huge terrible murdering jerks" to "sometimes huge terrible murdering jerks". Yay for non-monolithic cultures!
Having bent the pieces of mental into roughly more Jetfire-like shapes, she moves to try to patch up his holes a bit. Bambi says quietly, "Me sorry about you brother."
