//I can fly well enough.// Comes the irritated sounding answer to Thundercracker’s question. Whether or not the irritation was directed at Thundercracker or simply the situation in general was a bit unclear as the berkut quickly falls silent again afterwards. She half rolls, pulling sharply out of her ascent and U-turns into a sudden nosedive, making sure to keep a good distance away from Slingshot’s firing range.
If she’d been anybody else, this angle wouldn’t be pretty useless for return fire. As was though, she merely rotated the cannon on its base under her wing, setting her sights on the Harrier’s side before blasting away.

Thundercracker's incendiary shells harry the white jet, but Slingshot knows the danger of sharking. He's got wounded prey already; switching targets might let it escape.
The lack of a wingmate disturbs the dark parts of his mind - there's no one here to save him if he falls. Two against one, even with one of the two wounded and slowed, didn't strike him as too bright when he was also wounded.
But while Skystrike had been running towards Thundercracker, her little nosedive took her away from him- and gave Slingshot room to get in between the two of them. Two to try to smash him between them, but two to watch out for each other's guns as well.
Off to the side as Skystrike is or not, if she's in range for her weapons to strike him, he's in range to strike her. And Slingshot can fly in ways that should be purely impossible for a jet.
He rotates sideways in the air, still going forward but facing towards Skystrike. And his mortar cannons open up once more.

Skyblast feels that he should rejoin the fray, aching and thirsty as he is. He feels that he owes it to Slingshot, his Slingshot. Weary, he starts to climb.
Then, the cease-fire order comes. Hmph. Just as soon as he got his fighting spirit back, too!
He's still wary of the Decepticons. If they don't show signs of leaving, he might have to get up in their grills. As it is, he limps across the sky, trying to rejoin Slingshot.

Thundercracker is about ready to open fire again when the order to cease fire reaches him. Has Starscream finally blown a cerebral circuit? Or was this a duplicate, perhaps, attempting to muddle matters? If there's another one of him running around, there could very well be another Starscream among these rabid Autobots...
In the end, he complies, circling warily but not firing. He continues to watch the Aerialbot carefully, though, watching for any signs of treachery.

Skystrike twists and tries to pull away to avoid the mortar rounds. She might've succeeded in doing so too if one her canards hadn’t been so badly damaged. Feeling the tip of one of her rear stabilizers being blown unceremoniously off, the seeker was about to express her intense dislike of it with her own return fire when the order for ceasefire came through.
Seeing Thundercracker comply to the order and deciding that maybe, just maybe, Starscream wasn’t as crazy as he sounded right now, Skystrike snarls and pulls away, higher into the skies. She puts a wary distance between herself and the other jets before making any attempts to withdraw, weapons ready although they currently weren’t aimed at anything. They may not be the Autobots that the Decepticons of this world knew, but that didn’t mean that they were allies.

At the ceasefire command, Slingshot breaks away from Skystrike and Thundercracker and flies back towards Skyblast. He twitches his own battered wings in concern at the little jet's limping flight.
//Want to go see First Aid?// He asks Skyblast privately.
First Aid was a good sort, in Slingshot's opinion. He did his job whatever the job was, but he wasn't a sadistic torturer like some of the mockeries of medics Slingshot had been at the mercies of. Besides, First Aid was also gestalt.
First Aid was the only person besides Skyblast that Slingshot would talk freely and of his own free will to.

Skyblast does not particularly want to go see First Aid. He doesn't want to be injured, and he doesn't trust medics. He especially does not trust medics that Slingshot seem to like.
Still, he had better go, for Slingshot's sake. Wearily, he answers, //Whatever.// It's as close as Slingshot will get to 'yes.'

Thundercracker continues to watch the two Autobots warily -- he's not about to turn his rear stabilizers on them and get shot in the back in return. Call him untrustworthy, but he's not taking anything at face value here.
//You need an escort back to base?// he radios to Skystrike.

Skystrike didn’t let herself sigh in relief when the Autobots began to retreat as well. Just because the enemy was turning tail didn’t mean you let your guard down. There was also a distinct ache under her left wing where her gun was that was rather worrying. Come to think of it, the fact that she’d actually used her gun the way she did was rather worrying. Should’ve kept that downplayed rather than giving into the urge to hurt the unfamiliar Autobots. Now she had a potentially broken shoulder cannon in the presence of potentially aggressive enemies. Corebreaker would’ve had her head for that.
Thundercracker’s voice snapped her out of her mental nitpicking, drawing an annoyed growl as she answered; //You can face them alone if you wish to,// he wouldn’t be her problem anymore if he ends up dead. //Our orders are to disengage and I will go report to Hook.// An ominous prospect even though she knew that the Constructicon probably wouldn’t follow up on his request on the database until this debacle was at least somewhat dealt with. Still, she doubted he would appreciate what someone’s insides looked like after millennia upon millennia of mucking around under Cybertron’s unkempt cities.
If she had a face in her jet mode, Skystrike would’ve had the look of apprehension as she took off.
OOC: Skystrike out of the thread.

'Whatever' is good enough for Aerialbot-work. Besides, it's not as if there are a whole bunch of medics available around here.
Even if there were, he'd still pick First Aid every time, because First Aid won't hurt him for the heck of it. Under Rodimus's orders, sure, but so would anyone else.
With that thought, the Harrier begins to herd Skyblast back towards the portal.

Skyblast allows himself to be herded, but he sulks about it, like a cat.
Out of the thread and this world (shortly)!

Slag, Skystrike's in a mood. Then again, considering the stunt he'd pulled on her back in the training sessions, what did he expect?
With a last long look at the retreating Autobots, he too leaves the scene of the battle.
OOC: Out.
