"I don't know why, but I assume that Primus wanted a failsafe. I mean as in... breaking it into pieces. It is possible for the bearer of the Matrix to extract out a portion of its power and give it away. However, the power of the Matrix is not limitless and remove enough pieces..." Emirate Xaaron shrugs, Rodimus Prime can guess what would happen.
"We could hope that so breaking the Matrix would also disperse Unicron, but I am not so naive. In the case that Unicron escaped, he would need to be caged or destroyed, unless..."
Emirate Xaaron looks distinctly uncomfortable, and the words do not come to him easily. "...have Kup ask my alternate about what the history of his Primes has been like. If they have all been corrupt, it would seem to suggest to me more a Primus that condones such behaviour than anything else, and perhaps a..." He shakes his head. "A good Unicron would be nonsense, wouldn't it?"

"I wouldn't be quick to call anything nonsense, even before I arrived here, Emirate," the Boy Prime points out. "Even one reality can be too weird to just discount something because it seems too far out there. Add in a situation like this?" He shakes his head, shifts, and pulls himself into more of a sitting position, his pack leaning against the wall behind his defrag berth and his legs stretched out in front of him.
"Highly unlikely, yes. But impossible? No." The Prime stares at the opposite wall for a moment, thoughtful, hands clasped lightly in his lap.
"I'll have Kup talk to him."
"As for breaking the Matrix..." he pauses, trying to articulate his thoughts. Then he turns and looks at Xaaron. "You said the bearer has to do it. Are you hoping, however, in a case like this, a... opposite-but-equivilent could also do?"

Emirate Xaaron looks a bit disturbed and protests, "But deities are multiversal. They are not constrained by reality. My Primus is your Primus. At least, or so I would have thought. It seems some realities have no Primus at all, but an inverted Primus..." He shakes his head.
"I do try to stay flexible mentally, but forgive me if I have a little trouble here." Emirate Xaaron's expression is wan, but he forces a ghost of a smile to his face. Ghastly as it is, he suggests, "Of course, both Primus and Unicron could be evil. The mirror images are not exact. We really have no idea what we may be dealing with, and my alternate does not seem to be the most reliable sort."
A little cheerier, he suggests, "It would be nice if you could break the other Prime's Matrix, provided it wouldn't get us all eaten or the like, but we shouldn't discount the possibility that someone else might be able to do the same. Matrix sensitively runs even among the Decepticons, after all."

Rodimus goes back to staring at the opposite wall, frown etched deeply into his features.
"Unicron is Evil. He's not just an evil being - he is Evil itself. I know this, probably better than anyone."
"However, though he's a god, he's not a god of evil. He's a god of chaos and destruction, which are usually viewed negatively but aren't always, by default, evil. Just like Primus is a god of order and light, two things that are usually seen as good, but... but aren't aways."
The young Prime is clearly struggling with this, and his expression is worried more than anything else. Almost distressed.
"There's so many contradictions with the gods. I mean... Primus is also a war god, and yet the Autobots have always believed that war was bad. A necessary evil, but still an evil." Rodimus leans forward and shifts his legs to prop himself up. He studies his hand, clenches it into a fist. "Not just believed. Hot Rod... Hot Rod saw the war as a game, by and large. Up until the loss of Firebolt, hell, even after he had recovered. Mostly recovered. For him, the war was fun."
He looks up at Emirate Xaaron. "The Matrix changed Hot Rod into me. Reforged me... once I learned about Primus, I always assumed it was, well, a bit closer in his image." Perhaps closer than even Rodimus realizes. "But one thing I can be sure of is that those changes, they come from the Matrix. And one of the differences between Hot Rod and myself is that I... loathe the war. I fight it. Hot Rod himself was always a defender, and that need to defend is even stronger. So Primus... he..." Rodimus looks down at his hand. "He's a War god who hates war."
"And with that sort of contradiction in just one reality..." Rodimus trails off, tired from so much time spent articulating thoughts he had never bothered to assign words to before.

Emirate Xaaron corrects, "Primus was chosen by the other light gods as a champion against Unicron. He isn't necessarily a war god, just one selected to fight. If Unicron wasn't around, Primus would be... sitting around, emitting photons, I suppose."
One really has to wonder who Emirate Xaaron thinks he is, that he could correct a Prime on the nature and history of Primus.
He does, however, continue, "But I do see what you mean about contractions. The other Prime might serve a different aspect of the Matrix and a different side of Primus."

Rodimus doesn't debate what Emirate Xaaron has to say about Primus. His own knowledge of Primus comes from Unicron - not the most reliable of sources - and from what he's been able to determine based on the changes made in him, and from his affinity with the Matrix, and the Matrix, for all its power, for all its connection with the Transformers' god-creator, is a cryptic device.
He nods at the last point, though. "Light is often associated with suns, warmth, fire, but..." the Prime absently brushes the flame design on his chest. "Those things can be destructive, too." He sighs and shakes his head, hand falling to his side. "This is all just... speculation, though. What we do know, from both Swerve and the other you, is that he's dangerous, and probably more powerful than I am."
He shrugs, and smirks. "Fortunately, I'm used to having to go up against opponents stronger than I am, though this'll be the first time I'll have to outthink myself."

"Protection can turn into oppression, if left unchecked," Emirate Xaaron points out, along the lines of destructive fire.
Emirate Xaaron notes, "Who says that you'll be matched against yourself? Certainly, matched up against him in preparing for his troops, but it may not be you that handles him on the field. It is difficult to imagine many Autobots who could last longer than a round with you, but there are a few, even if he is more powerful than you."
His optics narrow, and he gets down to real business. "Enough with the metaphysical speculation. We need to get down to the reality of preparations."

"No one said that I'll be matched against myself." Rodimus winks. "I usually find that knowing how to direct your forces does more good than a one-on-one showdown, anyway." Then he sobers, and turns on his berth to face Xaaron directly. "But yes. It's time we got down to the nitty-gritty in our plans."
OOC: Sure.
