Perceptor works as quickly as he can to ensure that each system is stable enough to diminish or shut down entirely, leaving the bulk of the structural repairs for later when he can ensure that Rodimus can be more comfortable during them. He is still concerned, though, that some of the damage is so extensive and severe that if he prematurely disconnects sensory clusters, that it will not be a case of repair, but of complete reconstruction and reintegration of new circuits, which will extend the length of time that the battered Prime's repairs take by an order of magnitude.
It is slow work.
It is slow, tedious work which keeps Perceptor very occupied and distracted for some time. His primary concentration is upon Rodimus, rather than his surroundings. He is, however, not named Perceptor for nothing.
After diminishing the sensation from Rodimus' left arm down to pressure and temperature, and numbing the pain sensors themselves, he glances up to check on Botanica's work before moving on to another area... and frowns.
"Botanica? Do you require some time to... ah... reacquaint yourself with your biosphere? Synchronize or somesuch? I do not wish for you to become ill or neglected because you are assisting me. Such would be both counterproductive and a pyrrhic victory."

Were Botanica not so focused on Rodimus's repairs, she might give Perceptor a cross look for feeling he had to double check her work. As it stands now, however, every eye on the problem helps. This Cosmic Rust is so much more than the one she knows of from her history.
"Hmm, what?" she asks distractedly when Perceptor addresses her, "The connection is as strong here as if I were there. No, no, I'm fine. A little tired maybe, but given everything going on lately, who isn't?" She smiles at the other scientist before moving on to another repair.
One of the things that marks Botanica as technorganic even in her preferred plant mode is the heavy metallic sheen to her organic parts, and the monofiliment- thin silver and gold circuit lines that weaves through her vines, barely visible. These lines are turning a deep, deep orange, and at ever increasing speed.
Botanica picks up a laser scalpel, intending to excise some tissue which is damaged beyond repair. Or she tries to. The instrument slips through her fingers like water, the digits unable to hold it steady. She stares at her hand with confusion- and dawning horror.
"Perhaps... perhaps I am not well after all," she says softly.

Kup holds Rodimus's hand gently, like he was cradling a Minibot made of glass. (Not to be confused with Cliffjumper, when the wind blows his glass gas back at him.) He doesn't look at Rodimus's hand, though. Instead, he looks grimly at Botanica and asks, "Autumn didn't come early, did it, lass?"
No, Kup didn't think so.

OOC: Gah! Sorry I missed this!
As the work progresses, Rodimus's one working optic dims almost completely and his head rolls to the side. Every now and again, his grip on Kup's hand tightens, the only obvious clue of the pain of the repairs. The optic brightens, however, as he hears a disturbance beyond the normal repairs. He attempts to move, but given his condition he can do little more than shift slightly - probably for the best, all things considered.
//Botanica? What's wrong?// he radios, using the general frequency on low power so they can all hear.

Perceptor frowns to himself; they are all tired, yes, and have been so in the past, but it has never seemed to have affected her coloration before as it seems... to... be doing... now?
He can almost trace the progression of color change down those thin wires. The Techno portion of her techno-organic self. Corrostop, it appears, is not as complete a cure and safeguard from Cosmic Rust for her as originally assumed.
"The CR tank," he suggests with a calm he doesn't really feel. He cannot allow himself to indulge in even a minor fit of histrionics, however; beyond being unproductive, keeping both Botanica's systems as well as Roddy's as calm as possible will go a long way toward keeping the contagion from accelerating its progression or further damaging already compromised systems.

Distractedly, Botanica pats Rodimus on the shoulder. "Just a miscalculation, Rodimus. I'll be fine." She wants, just like Perceptor, to keep the Prime as calm as possible. The plantformer shakes her head at Kup, giving him a warning look. Don't make too much of it.
She nods at Perceptor, "Yes. A good suggestion. Since it's made more for those from my reality set, it may help me more. Do me a favor, please, and keep Cheetor out of the main lab until it's been fully decontaminated- or we figure out the problem."
Botanica carefully puts away her tools before making her way to the CR chamber. She settles herself inside and the chamber closes around her.

At Botanica's look, Kup looks away and tries to look casual. Not at her behest, mind, but because he, like her, doesn't want to upset Rodimus anymore than Rodimus already is.
But Kup sure hopes the little miss is right when she says she'll be fine.
Rodimus Prime doesn't need to beat himself up over another death, but knowing Rodimus, Rodimus will; there's simply nothing for it.
OOC: Come to think of it, also skippable, since Kup is just standing around and holding Rodimus's hand.

Rodimus frowns and his mouth moves slightly as he tries to voice his concern, and he struggles to move a little, but once more fails, slumping back fully into the table. He glances up at Kup and squeezes his hand, but by this point he's come to realize that there's nothing he can do to help her, and everyone else seems to have the matter settled, anyway.
OOC: With everyone either in CR, skippable, not even able to talk, or working hard, maybe we should either wrap or skip to the end? I'm good with either.

The only thing that Perceptor wants Rodimus worrying about right now is how bored he will be with Kup's stories by the time Perceptor is ready to release him from Medical. Everything else is secondary, and for Perceptor to fret about.
He watches, though, as Botanica seals herself into the CR chamber, and does not return to work upon Rodimus until the last light flickers online to indicate that it is functioning correctly. Then, with a calm nod to Rodimus and a brief glance at Kup, he returns to working his way through all of Roddy's systems, shutting down the sensory input as to each one as soon as he feels that it is safe to do so.
The rest is largely a matter of replacing damaged, diseased, or missing parts. It's merely a long, tedious process that will probably bore even Kup to tears by the time Perceptor finally pronounces Rodimus as repaired as he is capable of making him.
"The rest will primarily be for your self-repair systems," he announces as he begins wiping his hands down. "Integrating the new parts and the repaired systems, rebuilding neural links, re-establishing communication with distant sensors and arrays. Rebuilding your strength."
Perceptor offers Rodimus a faint smile. "I realize that this will be the last thing you wish to hear, but you will need to remain here during that process. There is still quite a bit of corrosion within your systems that your own self-repair is more efficient at dealing with than I can be."
And that rankles.
"And you have had a great deal of your sensory systems completely rebuilt and repaired. That will take time to reinitialize. I'm sorry."
ooc: timeskipped. Am cool with a fade anytime.

"I... understand," Rodimus whispers. Of course, compared to earlier, even being able to talk at all is an improvement.
"I'm... really tired. Going to... rest just a bit."
And then Rodimus is offline, his grip on Kup's hand relaxing (if repairs hadn't forced him to let go before).
In truth, though he's unconscious, he'll find it anything but rstful.
OOC: Unconscious and therefore skippable. Leaving thread open for a couple of days in case Perc or Kup want to get in a reaction.
