Elita's body jerks under Impactor's shot and Optimus succeeds in smacking her with the axe handle. As with the other ship inhabitants, however, she doesn't seem to notice the blows. She continues with single-minded ferocity to try and reach Optimus. If she manages to grab hold, she will not let go.
Optimus knows what will happen if she grabs hold.
The re-start of the self-destruct seems to make her pause, but that pause is slight.

"How else am I supposed to- her, you- I don't want to fight her at all!" Optimus sputters incoherently as he struggles to fend off the much-stronger-than-usual Elita-1.
When the gravity shifts, he finds himself overcompensating, given his new orientation, and topples forward, into his opponent.

"Looks like you're doing a damned good job of not fighting him to me!" Impactor roars. "We don't have time for this!" He steps towards the struggle, attempting to grab hold of Optimus and physically drag him out, if necessary.
Of course, getting Optimus out of the way will also open up a clean shot to Elita, too.

When Optimus topples forward, Elita-1 sidesteps to avoid getting slammed into. Optimus is close enough for her to finally sink her literal claws into his arm, however. She tries to snatch him around and away from Impactor's grasp.
"Mine!" she hisses- not that anyone can actually hear her.
Someone better do something otherwise, none of them are getting off the ship.

The pain when Elita-1 grabs Optimus is unspeakable. Her actual sharpened fingers barely register against the feeling that the life is being sucked out of him. The edges of his vision start to go black, while what remains is covered in red warning messages.
Academy training takes over. No thought is involved. His opponent has its claws in one side, he can't use that arm. His axe shortens to one-handed mode and its rocket ignites as he swings it around in a broad arc that'll cleave diagonally through his attacker's shoulder, possibly straight into the vitals if it hits.

Switching up with Impactor w/ permission.
Elita-1 could, possibly have manged to dodge that blow from Optimus- if she even attempted to do so. She doesn't. She hangs on, a hissing, snarling, perverted version of herself. Hangs on even as the axe slices through metal and circuits, cleaving a path in line with her spark.
She's still hanging on when the drain abruptly stops, and her body goes slack and slowly collapses to the floor. Her head twists to look up at Optimus. Her optics- blue once again- flare as she says something, the actual words lost in the vacuum. As her optic lights finally wink out, her body begins to shift to that washed out gray which denotes the dead.
The words she mouthed, should Optimus or Impactor puzzle them out, were Thank you.

Impactor finally manages to grab hold of Optimus and yank him back, lifting his harpoon to fire at Elita-1 as he does. This reality - sparks. He aims for the chest. When she goes grey, however, he can see he doesn't have to. Instead, he growls, "Come on!" and turns towards the control room exit, attempting to drag Optimus after him. Hopefully, the kid will stop being an idiot here any second, because he's pretty sure the fastest way out of this ship is straight down, but to do that he'll have to transform, making it harder to drag the young Prime along.
At least until an idea hits him. He fires at the floor with his shoulder cannon. It's obvious he intends to jump through, still dragging Optimus. Shouldn't be too many levels from the bottom, but he'll still probably need his drills to get through the outer hull.
OOC: Optimus grabbed with permission.

Impactor doesn't really have to drag Optimus, per se, inasmuch as Optimus's unresisting feet will take him wherever Impactor leads. Really, the slightest nudge will do to get the young Prime to follow at this point.
A small, quiet part of his mind idly wonders if they should retrieve the bodies, just to make sure nothing untoward happens.
Oh, look. There is a hole in the floor. When did that get there? Optimus will jump down the hole after Impactor does.

Impactor wouldn't let Optimus stick around to gather up the bodies, anyway. Ignoring the whole infection risk, sticking around means dealing with more Lithones, and the longer they get caught up with that, the better the chance they go up with the ship. Impactor's fine with that for himself, but he has Optimus and Springer to see off this tub alive.
Once the once-and-future Wrecker is sure that Optimus is following him, he stops dragging the Prime, though if, at any time, it looks like the blue and red robot has stopped following, he'll get back to dragging.
He lands heavily, cracking the decks beneath, and blasts yet another hole, dropping through that as well. He lands on the next one, then straightens. "Outer hull. After this space." He reaches over and attempts to thump Optimus back to his senses. "I can dig through it, but could use some ideas on putting distance between us and the ship once we're outside if the spacers can't get to us right away."

Optimus continues to follow after Impactor like a shell-shocked puppy until the zombie-bot smacks him. He shakes his head and says, a bit distractedly, "My axe has a rocket on it, but it was never designed to move as much mass as both of us together. It'd burn out pretty quickly."

"Then use it for yourself," Impactor grunts, transforming. "You'll get farther not holding onto me. I'll see if firing my cannon back towards this wreck doesn't get me away. 'Sides, with my armor, I can afford to be nearer this thing when it goes."
With that, the drill starts, and he begins making his way through the last layer of cables, duct-work, and armor towards the dead of space.

"I'm not leaving you!" Optimus protests when Impactor says to use his axe for himself. He's had quite enough of that sort of thing today. "Oh, yes sir," he corrects himself lamely when the zombie drilltank finishes his statement.
The Prime grips his axe tightly in both hands, concentrating on the task immediately ahead of him and nothing else. Hold axe. Ignite rocket. Keep rocket lit.
He doesn't want to think about anything else. He can't let himself think about anything else.

Impactor grunts as Optimus protests the idea of leaving him behind. These folks just do not get that he's pretty much disposable. He's kept around in non-life out of other people's guilt over his death, when as far as he's concerned, they'd all be better off just letting him go.
This isn't the time for that debate, however.
This isn't the time for a whole lot. Moments later, Impactor has broken a hole through the hull of the ship. He transforms, hangs onto it for a moment, then kicks off, radioing Optimus, // All right, now! Get away from that thing! // As soon as Optimus is clear, he fires back towards it, using the force of his blast to give himself some distance, though he can't manage so far or so fast.
And moments after that, the ship begins to explode.
OOC: Due to thread 'time dilation,' the explosion may not hit the other MSS threads for a round or two.

If Impactor doesn't appreciate his second chance at life, he can give it to someone else. There are plenty of worthy candidates, goodness knows.
Optimus stays on Impactor's heels, kicking off after him and igniting the rocket on his axe once he's cleared the ship. He spares a glance over his shoulder as he's propelled away and the hateful vessel starts to blossom into a fireball.
He doesn't know what a Viking funeral is, but he supposes it's as impressive a grave as can be hoped for, under the circumstances.

Impactor would if he could.
He's hit hard and sent tumbling by the shockwave of the explosion, some of his armor panels ripped off by the force (though they're mostly ones that were loose to begin with). His transponder, fortunately, is still working, but at this point, there's little to do but wait for a pick-up.
OOC: Shall we fade up with assumed rescue?
