Uh… which Crumplezone? 'Cause I wouldn't mind seeing the big galoot from Cybertron, but I could be biased towards my own continuity. And I'm pretty sure there's something behind the scenes about this human plot thing. I admit, I'm not in on it, so I don't have details. I'm having a blast with it, though!

I'd like to see Crumplezone! (One of my alts is Override.) There is an explanation for the humanizations, but the Transformers haven't worked it out entirely yet. It got triggered in the Under the Sea thread ( tfdeadzone.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=earthlocked&action=display&thread=4324&page=1 ), and Shockwave, Emirate Xaaron, and Rodimus (all human-like, of course) do some theorizing about it in Pic-A-Nic baskets ( tfdeadzone.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=humanization&action=display&thread=4404&page=1 ). It's already been established in-game that some planets besides Cybertron (which may or may not even exist in this universe) have sort of "planet-souls," somewhat equivilent to the Matrix or, say, Primus in some continuities (the idea was borrowed from a storyline from the old Marvel Transformers comics), and it's been suggested that the thing that the Transformers found at the bottom of the ocean may be one of those for Earth.

" What canon events have already happened? What canon events have yet to happen? " how much detail would you like? I have a whole trilogy to work with here so I really want to see an answer heading towards 'Less'

I'm pretty sure you're okay with just Cybertron events. I never use more than a quick outline of recent events on either side of my pull-point and that generally seems sufficient.

Generally, we really only need enough information to pinpoint where he's pulled from, but the "what have yet to happen?" is both a way for us to figure out what significant character events that other players might know about so we know they don't apply to your character (for example, if he hasn't been reformatted by Megatron yet, that's significant, just like knowing that Rattrap wasn't yet a Transmetal was significant for his character), and how we know what significant "home timeline" stuff your character might not be aware of yet.
Luckily, two of the admin are pretty well familiar with Cybertron (though I haven't seen Energon or Armada), so you can probably go with less info over more (again, as long as we can be sure where exactly he's yanked from), but if it were a series that none of us had a good deal of familiarity with (like some, though not all, of the Japanese G1 stuff), we'd have to rely on you for more details.
Also, because the Velocitronian guys were effectively cut off from Cybertron until the events of, well, Cybertron, the stuff from Armada and Energon aren't even relevant to your character. From the Velocitron perspective, it was mostly, "Colonized the planet so far back in ancient history we mostly forgot about it, built a culture based on racing, then these 'Autobots' and 'Decepticons' showed up with this 'war' thing and kind of shook matters up. But still with lots of racing."

Correct on both counts. We prefer to keep each realities "special gimmick" proprietary. For example, no matter how much Dreamwave Mirage wants a Bayverse fastscan mode-swapping ability, he isn't going to get it. It sounds as if you are trying to go for an OC. If you're looking for a character that might fit well, let me direct you to this thread which contains a list of canon characters that people have mentioned they'd like to see in game. We don't mind OC's at all, but for a first character it is often easier to go with a canon character with a set backhistory and tech spec. With an OC, you pretty much have to make everything up, and the more elaborate and super special the abilities and backstory, the less likely it is to get approved. What we really need are more basic, everyday warriors on both sides. Oh, and both sides could use a dedicated medic, since right now it's all engineers forced to play medics. Well, I've got two character apps built right now, one is a spy for the Autobots, but the other is a 'Con Medic, so if the first gets sent back, I'll just drop the 'Con medic in and see how that goes.
