Month 1, Week 4, late Day 5, medical ward, semi-private, mention of Long Haul done with permission, mention of Twin Twist done with permission because I play him
Bambi was supposed to be working in the morgue. She likes working in the morgue. She likes dead things. It's like a mystery, taking the corpses apart, trying to figure out how they died, trying to figure out what they were like in life. It's good practise!
She's still too young to be much phased by death, and when Bambi's old, she'll still be a Dinobot. Bambi didn't know these people, anyway.
Instead of the morgue, however, Bambi is actually working in medical. Long Haul was supposed to be working in medical, but Twin Twist put a hole through the wall, so Long Haul has to go fix that. So Bambi's here. She has a checklist of how to handle different situations. Most of the directives amount to, 'In case of severe emergency, call someone who actually knows what s/he's doing.' For some of the smaller problems, however, Bambi has instructions for how to solve them herself, such as if a panel has fallen off Impactor and he needs it tack-welded back on again. She sits on a table in dinosaur mode, reading over all the instructions again, nose down in a datapad.
Bambi almost looks like someone could walk in and surprise her. Looks are deceiving.

Mirage made a very specific point of checking to see who was on duty in the medbay before he actually entered. There are certain people to which he does not wish to explain these damages. Long Haul will certainly grouse and grumble about wasting resources, but that is a minor problem compared to some others.
The spy is favoring his left leg rather badly, much more so than he allowed himself to during the spar which caused these damages. This is causing some pain and issue with that one weak area in his torso, and Mirage hopes he isn't required to transform for awhile. One side of his helm is caved in, one of his hands is taped, and he's sporting a varied array of dents and possibly some stab or slice wounds. Unfortunately, this isn't a case where Mirage can say, "You should see the other guy," because Drift pretty much kicked Mirage's aft.
He's already calling out to the Constructibot as he walks through the doors, "Now Long Haul, don't get too upset with me but I had a spar earlier that got a bit heated and-." Mirage stops stock still when he sees who's actually in medical.
Bloody buggery hell, to steal one of Botanica's swears.
"Ah, um... hello Bambi. I though Long Haul was on duty today."
OOC: Injury description is rather vague because Night Garden isn't quite finished yet.

OOC: Hearing Mirage done with permission.
Mirage may be quiet, but he's limping, and Bambi has awfully good hearing. She peers up at Mirage and looks him over, sighing. The Dinobot transforms and hops off the table, datapad in hand. She's pretty sure that Mirage isn't going to die any second, which means that she doesn't need to call a real medic just yet.
Trying to be professional, Bambi asks, "Can you Mirage transform?"
That is the first thing on the list to ask. She's dying of curiosity as to what happened to him, though. Bambi squints at his injuries, looking for paint chips from the other guy.

From the moment Mirage saw that it was Bambi in the room, he straightened and shifted his carriage so that he wasn't favoring his leg as bad as he was on the way to the medbay. It's a struggle, but he manages to almost walk normally as he moves over to one of the exam tables and boosts himself. What Mirage can't hide, however, is the way his face twists up in a grimace at the action, or the sharp hiss it draws from him.
"I probably could try to transform," he says through gritted teeth, "but I can't guarantee I could transform back, or even complete the action." Once the spy is settled, he shutters his optics and cycles air several times before he looks up at Bambi.
"That issue is not caused by these injuries, but rather is an old issue aggravated by them."
Given that Mirage took a headbutt from Drift, it is certainly possible that there are some flakes of white paint caught in the wound. That would not necessarily identify Mirage's sparring partner, however.

Bambi gives Mirage a flat look and directs, "You Mirage no need put on pretenses. Me Bambi can see you hurting. Hear, too." Smell some of the injuries, even.
She grabs a step-stool and works on going through the instructions, trying to connect up the various sensor suites to start getting all the proper readings she'll need to move to the next major step in the procedure. Bambi comments, frowning, "It no good if you Mirage can no transform."
Bambi shouldn't have said that; it's not good bedside manner, but Bambi doesn't realise that. Despite her attempts to be professional, a bit of a growl enters her voice as she asks, "Who do this to you Mirage? There lot of white Autobots."

Mirage allows Bambi to do whatever she needs to do, and he will do the same for the duration of the repairs. In other words, Bambi has permission to do what needs doing in the thread.
He waves off her worries over his transform. "Like I said, it's an old injury issue. Acts up from time to time. Once the stress of the wounds in my leg and hip are gone, it should settle out on its own."
When she asks who did this to him, Mirage notes that growl. He cocks his head and gives her a considering look.
"Bambi, this was a spar that I went into willingly, knowing that my opponent had greater skill. If I tell you who my opponent was, will you promise not to bother him over it?"

"Him Mirage, if me Bambi fall down ladder into box of swords, her Botanica and him Perceptor still gonna yell at me Bambi for banging self up. Well. Her Botanica yell. Him Perceptor probably try give me Bambi candy." Bambi shakes her head, rubbing her chin.
She sets up the sensors and looks carefully over the readings. Okay, Mirage is not going to die any time soon. His readings are stable. He has an awful lot of damage, but it's not to critical pieces. So Bambi doesn't need to summon a real medic yet, and since they're out, it is presumably because they are busy.
Bambi says carefully, "Him Mirage, me Bambi can get wounds cleaned and prepared for repairs. If you Mirage want."

"Don't underestimate Perceptor's temper," Mirage warns, then smiles fondly, "Though he probably would offer you candy- after the lecture."
He nods, "Please do. They won't heal themselves, after all." Not all of them anyway.
"What have you been doing with yourself? We've been fresh out of aged temples and lost artifact lately," Mirage teases, "Once I'm patched up, we should schedule another training session."

In the forms, Bambi writes down the cause of Mirage's injuries as 'Mirage fell down a ladder into a box of swords'. Bambi is a liar.
She shrugs off Mirage's warning and explains, "Me Bambi only student medic. You Mirage might want real medic. Could call for one, if you Mirage no want be operated on by student."
There is a hopeful gleam in her optics, though. Bambi is smart! She has lots of reference files here! She's sure she can do it, if Mirage will only let her.
Bambi adds slyly, "Oh, there lots of artefacts here."
Mirage is how old?

Mirage tilts his head and considers Bambi's warnings. "I trust you not to attempt something beyond your means. Your skills were certainly good enough to save the lives of more than just us two not that long ago, and you've had some training since then."
In other words, have a practice spy, Bambi.
Her last words make him quirk up a browridge. "Just what are you inferring there, Bambi dear."
Last he checked, the only real artifact they had aboard ship was the Matrix, and Mirage isn't sure he wants Bambi checking Rodimus out that much.

Bambi gives Mirage an odd look. He trusts her? Wild child, illegitimate daughter of the AllSpark, Earthborn, Dinobot? Dinobot first and always. Trusts her to do the repairs, not blanket trust, but still. Bambi notes it down that Mirage has consented to being operated upon by a student medic. She consults her notes and work on getting rid of any short circuits, first of all, making sure that she's safely grounded. Bambi's slow about it and often consults Mirage's schematics, face screwing in concentration. Her claws trace over the wiring diagrams and then the wires themselves, stopping and starting again. Some of it probably hurts, though she isn’t purposefully trying to be rough, but again, she's a Dinobot.
Bambi points out, grinning toothily, "Anything over one hundred years old antique on Earth, him Mirage."
Bambi is going to examine the Matrix. It's going to happen. Rodimus Prime owes her a boon.

Some of it certainly does hurt, and while Mirage takes care to temper how much of that hurt he shows, he does not hide it completely. If Bambi is to learn to be a more competent medic, than she must be allowed both the chance to practice and the benefit of learning from mistakes.
At her cheeky comment, Mirage reaches over and tries to chuck her under the chin. "Are you inferring that I'm a dusty old relic of another time, Bambi?" Mirage asks, smirking a bit, "Do I make for you an interesting subject of study?"

Bambi is actually likely to give a darn when Mirage shows pain. She might not, otherwise, so he's a pretty good test patient for her.
She is torn between scowling and embarrassment at Mirage's gesture, and the resulting expression is rather strange. Bambi does admit, "Everything interesting. But you Mirage usually willing to be studied."
Is that all the short circuits and disconnects? Bambi takes another look.

Mirage certainly feels better as Bambi works, and he comments occasionally to that affect, complimenting he on the work from time to time.
"My willingness to be 'studied' as you put it entirely depends on the one doing the studying. I don't tend to consider myself an exhibit on display, after all."
He smirks at her before attempting to the typical hair-ruffling move* that doesn't actually ruffle hair on a Transformer. "And you're still saying I'm old, you know."
*Not sure which mode Bambi is in here, but either way,the motion is the same.

Bambi is in robot mode, to look nice for Mirage!
Bambi takes note of when she does it right, as judged by Mirage's comments. She's very carefully documenting everything she does. If Mirage cares to glance at her documentation, he might catch sight of where some of these parts originated. Where or rather who. Bambi was working in the morgue just prior.
She replies ambivalently, "Me Bambi suppose you Mirage middle-aged by standard of own people. Yes? Him Kup old. Him Blurr young."
Bambi is a blink.
