Just how arrogant is Mirage, to think that Sentinel Prime would go to such efforts just for Mirage? Mirage probably thinks this song is about him.
Sentinel Prime sets up for the closer target, slowly, carefully, methodically. He does make this shot. Then he replies to Mirage, "No. Optimus isn't at all."
Optimus is just stubborn and doesn't like admitting his mistakes, in his own way. He's not as bad as Sentinel Prime. He was never as bad as Sentinel Prime. Still, if Optimus gave up on Sentinel Prime, it'd mean that Optimus was wrong when he decided to cut his losses and get Sentinel out alive, instead of trying to grapple down and pull Elita-1 out of a pile of spiders. No one likes to be wrong. Here, however, there is not one universe but proof of many. Events could have gone differently. Optimus could have chosen differently. Optimus could have chosen, perhaps, more wisely. So maybe Optimus sees Sentinel Prime for the mistake that he is now. Why should Optimus be Sentinel Prime's hero, when there are others far more deserving, others who will lavish Optimus with gratitude? Others who don't tell Optimus he was never programmed to be a hero and he shouldn't even try in the first place.
At least, that's Sentinel Prime's private speculation, when it's dark and quiet in his room, and he still can't sleep, too spun up and wound up from another jam-packed day.

Mirage's optics narrow again. This conversation is prompting more questions than answers. Time to table the discussion.
For now.
"Better," he says of the shot, "Now, let us discuss the variables when one adds motion to the mix."
He points to another of Sentinel's targets. Closer, but moving left and right at a steady pace.
Hmm... fade on more dry instruction?

OOC: Fine by me. Wrap?- - - Sentinel Prime stares at the moving target as if the target kicked his puppy jet fighter. Are they really doing this? They're doing this. They're making it happen. He hedges, "Yeeeeah, let's talk about that..."
