Month 3, Week 2, Day 3. Starting Private, will open up later
Aimless long ago exited the quarters which Misfire shared with Fleetwind and Skystrike. Misfire has been struggling with a decision for a long time, has finally made it, and Aimless has no desire to be in the vicinity when the feces hit the oscillating device.
Misfire is reclining on his berth, for all intents and purposes reading a novel on a datapad. For the past half hour, he's been shooting careful looks at the back of a certain pastel jet who is working on some project or another at the computer terminal.
Finally, "Hey Fleetwind. Want to go out for a flight with me? Stretch your wings?"

Fleetwind is reviewing the military capabilities of the assorted human nations, at least that which is public knowledge. Know thy enemy and all.
He tilts his head as Misfire asks his question. Fleetwind is not entirely ignorant of Misfire's interest in him. In fact, he typically plays the innocent as means of not discouraging them, and thus ensuring that there is at least one Decepticon with an interest in maintaining Fleetwind's wellbeing, while at the same time not actively encouraging them so that he can't be accused of being a "player," and perhaps angering Misfire in that way.
The question can be taken innocently, and so Fleetwind chooses to accept it as such. He shrugs both wings and shoulders and turns to glance back at Misfire. "Sure. Why not?"

The thing is, Misfire is so used to being treated as a joke, and no on wants to be be seen out in company with a joke. Not like that, anyway. He's taking a risk, not just of himself, but of a friendship (of sorts) that he has come to value.
"Great. I was starting to go a little stir crazy," Misfire grins, "I keep having to remind myself that we can just hop out for a flight now, we've been cooped up in the ship for so long."
He gets up from the berth and after a moment's hesitation, he walks over to Fleetwind and offers the other jet a hand up from his seat.
"Shall we?"

Where as Fleetwind likes to be thought of as little as possible. Being seen in the company of a joke actually helps.
He hmmms. "Well, there's always hallway flights, but those do tend to annoy the.. land alt-moders," he observes lightly. The first word that comes to his mind is actually, 'dustswallowers,' but it's generally wise to watch who one uses that sort of language around. Especially when the current leader is a "dustswallower."
He thoughtlessly accepts the hand up, and dips his head. "Certainly." Then he walks lightly, tip-tap-tapping towards the door. "Clear skies, or are we searching out storms?"

"Storms," Misfire answers without hesitation. Getting out for a flight is always good, but clear skies can make for boring runs. That isn't the only reason he's after a more challenging run, though. Misfire knows he's not ugly. He isn't as lovely as some, no, but he's a unique build, and for some that has an appeal. He is, however, exceptionally agile and skilled in the air. Certainly, Fleetwind surpasses Misfire in several areas, but that doesn't mean Misfire isn't aware of how to best show off what skills he does have.
"There's a nice front building over some islands in what the humans call the Pacific, I think. I was checking their weather earlier."

"Good," Fleetwind answers, smiling faintly. He, too, believes that calm weather is more boring - he's just polite enough to make sure that his flight partner is as all right with stormy skies as he is.
Some time later...
With a great whoop of joy, Fleetwind dives into a cloud bank, darting blind straight towards whatever it is beneath it. // Still think this planet is too flat, // especially over the oceans, // but the storms as nice. Most of them not as dangerous as the ones back home, but at least they're a lot more frequent. //

//Too flat, too many insects.// Misfire isn't just talking about the literal insects. No offense to his partner, or any other 'Master partner, but still. Insects.
//But it has it's merits.//
Misfire dodges a flash of lightening, shifting into a roll as he does so and then dives. If he's timed things right, he should come out almost too close to Fleetwind- just close enough for them both to have to make some tricky maneuvers.
//I don't think I ever really thanked you for all the help. With using the lifters and the other skills. I appreciate you- your taking the time.//

// Chief among them being its resources, // Fleetwind observes.
Fleetwind actually rolls away, finishing upside down, and then tilts so as to slide underneath Misfire, avoiding him, but in a manner that will force several tricky course corrections on Misfire's part.
It's actually quite a compliment that he assumes that Misfire is capable of this. Though, of course, had he remembered that he's a F-35 now and not a pyramid jet, he wouldn't even had needed the roll. He realizes this after the fact, and makes a mental note of it.
// Well, I may call in a favor or similar as repayment, // Fleetwind observes, // though really, it serves my purposes for those I'm flying with to know what they're doing! //

Misfire chuckles, both in agreement with Fleetwind's commentary on Earth's resources and with the maneuver the pastel jet just pulled. Rather than panic and over correct like some might do, Misfire makes his adjustments in perfect time, without either hitting Fleetwind or veering far from the Seeker.
//Well, I'll admit I've wondered about that shoe dropping,// Misfire says as he clears Fleetwind and dives through another thunderhead, //We aren't exactly known for our altruism.//
//However...,// There's a significant pause before Misfire continues, //I would probably do you a favor even if you hadn't helped me.//

Hmm. Fleetwind suspects that Misfire may be about to admit his feelings. Well, that certainly complicates matters. He dives down, flying alternate to Misfire, and then cuts under, a move that will force another quick course change on the other jet's part.
//Oh?// he asks innocently. //Well, it is appreciated, though at the moment, we don't even know what this hypothetical favor is.// It's unwise, after all, to agree to volunteer when one doesn't even know what one is volunteering for.

When Fleetwind cuts him off, Misfire quickly transforms, curls into a ball and tumbles over the other jet, and then transforms back into jet mode. He barely settles before he has to jink hard to the left to avoid a lightening strike.
//Well, I said probably. It wasn't a blind promise, because I'm not without some sense of self-preservation,// he laughs. Misfire attempts to cut across Fleetwind's flight path, giving a little tit for tat.
//I might admire you quite a lot, but I'm not likely to forget that you are a Decepticon.//
As is Misfire.

// Ah, good, // Fleetwind responds. Someone completely without a sense of preservation can be dangerous as well.
When Misfire cuts across Fleetwind's path, the Seeker transforms, twisting in the air not to avoid the other jet, but to make a grab for the edge of one wing, optics narrowed in concentration, lips twisted just slightly into a mischievous smile. Should he make his grab, he'll swing himself around, possibly forcing Misfire into a roll at the same time. Should he miss... things might get messy.
It's a bit of an absurd maneuver, but then, he's from the reality where Jet Judo is a thing.

Fleetwind does indeed catch Misfire's wing. The grab surprises Misfire enough to make him gasp, and he is indeed thrown into a roll by being made suddenly off balance.
As he rolls, Misfire transforms, which brings him closer into Fleetwind. This is where the "dance" part of what they do comes in. Misfire twirls around the pastel jet, laughing as he does so. It's amazing to fly with a partner who can not only keep up, but surpass him.
"You're amazing. I-" The words catch, but he manages to keep going, "I admire you. A lot. And you're too intelligent to have not already figured that out."

Fleetwind twirls around Misfire as he is twirled around, spinning as he does. He stops the spin, however, and turns to face Misfire as the other makes his admission.
"I... suspected as much, yes," he admits.

Misfire's hand twitches as he fights back the urge to reach out to Fleetwind. "Look, I know... I know I'm not the type of person anyone wants to pair up with, even casually. I'm too much of a joke...."
Thunder rolls and lightening flashes, because that is what happens during dramatic revelations like this.
"...So if you're not interested, I understand."
