"There's energon in the weapon fuel packs that the fishmen use," Tessan supplies, maybe not helpfully, assuming that Kate wants energon to drink instead of coffee, "Though energon tasted wrong when I tried it."
"But... it's like... there was this one time there was a Decepticon base. So I undermined it. Turned out there were a bunch of Autobot prisoners in the base. Erm... everyone died in the cave-in."
Tessan stares determinedly at her feet. She's not happy about 'accidents' like these.

"Tw- er, Tessan, you're not 'built' for energon anymore. 'Course it ain't gonna taste ri-" Kate cuts herself off.
"They had energon?!"
And then Tessan drops another bomb on her and she stares blankly for a moment. "I can't legally lock you up, but you're sorely tempting me to find an illegal way to do it."

"Wuh yeah, how else were they going to run their lasers?" Tessan says, as if this is amazingly obvious.
Then Tessan snarls, "Try it and I'll tunnel my way out. I ain't serving time for something I've already been punished for. If you wanna know what I've done, fine, but last I heard, Autobots didn't do double jeopardy. That's a Predacon thing. They have two big cats."

"There are other ways to power lasers besides energon," Kate points out, then takes another sip of her coffee. Sure, energon is one of the more potent power sources out there, holding quite a lot of energy per volume, but it's not the only way.
"How are you gonna tunnel your way out? Your fingernails? And anyway, I didn't say I was going to. You're the one who keeps giving me bits and pieces without any kinda context. It's like you've been out to make yourself look as horrible as possible this whole damn conversation!"

"I could headbutt the soil," Tessan opines, clutching one of her drills. "Frak, just... get my file from Impactor. If he has it. Or something. There's not much after I ended up under him."

"Impactor's files ain't exactly 'up to date' for you, are they? Aren't you two from a few hundred years apart?" Kate answers, choosing to ignore the 'headbutt the soil' comment. "But anyway, so this is all pretty far in the past and already dealt with, but you suddenly decided I might be kicking you out of the Autobots for it, anyway."
She shrugs. "All right, then." Then she considers, taking another sip. Sure, these things don't thrill her to know, and yeah, she did get angry and snap at Tessan, but really... she never has been one for forgetting the past.
(Well, not intentionally, anyway.)
"Thanks for the heads up," she finally states.

"A little over five hundred years," Tessan admits, "And... yeah. You made me nervous."

Kate smirks, finishing her second coffee. "Yeah? I'm thinking I noticed." She stands. "Anyway, you got any contact information? I'm still trying to figure out how to contact the Horizon, but once I do, it'll help if I know how to get a hold on you on a consistent basis."

Tessan blinks and thinks. This is clearly a difficult process for her. "I'm here most of the time, and when I'm not, there's this apartment-thing where I live? And there's a bar where I watch NASCAR sometimes? Gimme something to write on, I can get you an address for my apartment..."

Kate pulls her tablet out of her back pocket, opens a blank page, and hands it and the stylus to Tessan. "Just an address? No phone number?" she asks, clearly surprised. After all, she's older than dirt, and she has a phone!

"Not as far as I know?" Tessan replies, blinking. Tessan's drop-in life is incomplete. She has a job and an apartment, but she doesn't have a phone.
Luckily, she doesn't have a criminal record.

"Hnh! All right then," Kate mutters thoughtfully, waiting for Tessan to write down the address. Things are not yet organized enough that she immediately thinks, 'We'll need to get her one,' although she's likely to show up on Tessan's doorstep with one shortly after she gets in contact with the Autobots.
She gestures, "I s'pose if you want, you can write that in Cybertronian, though things like street names ain't gonna translate, anyway."

Tessan looks at what she wrote and then back up at Kate, and she admits sheepishly, "Well, yeah, I wrote it in Cybertronian. It's easier."
Her handwriting is still bad, though. Grammar school drop-out, represent.
