Month 11, Week 2, Day 5. Open to all still-robots and anyone who is ICly aware that they're Cybertronians. Assume truce.
Things are bad. Real bad.
They're bad enough that the Autobots are willing to finally accept the small submarine offered them by Kaon-ic industries. That offer had been on the table for awhile now, but Sharon and Rodney had thought it best to find another way down, one that doesn't involve trusting their lives to something built by Shockwave.
But now a nanovirus is consuming Detroit, turning everything in its path into insane, contagious robotic scorpions. The Crimson Cavalier isn't one to say, 'Things don't get much worse than that,' because he's battled dark gods and watched time unravel, so he knows better. But things can still be pretty damn bad without being time-unraveling bad.
Making the call to pull out had been tough. His own aura protected him, and on minute scales, he had even been able to reverse it, but he simply doesn't have the energy to contain the whole city, and nothing that any of the other metas, the government agencies, the military have been able to throw at that thing has even slowed it down.
It got Kate. His mentor is now a mindless, psychotic robot scorpion.
And he can't do anything about that right now, though. As painful as it can be, Cavalier knows when a tactical retreat has to be called, and this is one of those times. He turns towards the others that are with him on the Norfolk pier, ready to board the submarine. "Well, we'd better get going." He pauses. "Maybe we can get out of here before the Decepticon rep arrives."

"Mmm, you sure he isn't the submarine?" Metatron asks, and she isn't entirely kidding. She has her arms crossed and her super outfit on.
If only they had Seaspray here now.

No such luck, Rodimus.
A falling star resolves itself into a swiftly growing blotch in the sky, which resolves itself into a diving F-22, which in turn decelerates rapidly and transforms into Starscream, alighting almost daintily on the pier near the two humanized Autobots.
To their credit, none of the Sailors present raise their weapons at the massive Decepticon. They don't seem terribly happy that he's there, though.
"Emirate. Prime," Starscream says, nodding curtly.

Wednesday loiters with the other Autobots in his own rockin' super outfit, enthusiastically chewing a wad of pink gum with his mouth open. When Starscream arrives, he narrows his eyes at the Decepticon and blows a large, deliberate bubble. Then popping it loudly, he grins widely and says, "Oh hey, it's this jerk."

Out of the submarine's main hatch climbs K-Tech's representative, Donal Costigan. What, you thought Victoria was going to let a bunch of questionable characters, including her probable enemies and possibly backstabbing former subordinates, run off with a very expensive research vessel without some supervision?
The situation is very bad--Costigan has a very good idea just how bad, considering he escaped dangling by his fingertips from the last helicopter to make it off Kaonic Technology's roof-top. Bad enough that Victoria Raines was willing to offer her resources to both sides in a desperate attempt to solve this disaster.
Shades Costigan adjusts his broad-brimmed black hat before stepping forward to meet the arrivals. "Welcome aboard the URV(A)-4," he says. He gestures at the hull just as a large topside cargo hatch begins to open, gaping large enough for Starscream--or other large vehicle.

In truth, Sharon, Rodney, and Victoria had planned some time ago for such a trip 'under the sea', but it had been delayed in part due to the Autotbots' discomfort in the idea of trusting themselves to Victoria's resources, nevermind her resources being trusted to them!
Rodney lets out a slow-but-silent sigh as he sees who arrived. "Starscream," he acknowledges formally, although it's worth noting that he doesn't bother to correct Wednesday's comments, or to chide Wednesday for them.
He turns towards Donal and lifts a brow. "URV(A)-4? That's a terrible name. I'm calling it the 'Last Ditch.'" With that, he takes one more look around the pier, just to ensure that's the whole group, and crosses the submarine's brow, heading for the hatch.
"Better get moving," he observes.
OOC: If anyone comes in late, they can claim that they were here but quiet all along.

Metatron sighs and smiles slightly at the Cavalier's renaming of the submarine. "Mmm. At least you didn't call it the Leaky Coffin."
All this ... water kind of wigs her out. Cybertron was dry, and her manufactured human life did not involve copious amounts of water. The ocean is a thing that should not be.
She follows after the younger Autobot.

Vortex is not feeling particularly stable. She’s kind of stuck in that icky transition period where she knows she is Vortex but she also has very clear memories of being human all her life. Mostly the confusion just makes her want to kill people. Currently she is not allowed to kill people.
She is only mildly distracted by Starscream’s arrival and the Autobots, embroiled in suppressed bloodlust as she was. For once, Vortex is not particularly talkative.

Costigan grins. "Well, Ah wanted to name her the 'Saucy Wench', but corporate policy's a bit more sedate. 'Underwater Research Vehicle, Advanced, Model 4' -- URV(A)-4."
He holds out his hand to shake. "Ah'm Donal Costigan, and I'll be piloting the sub for this little junket. Like you, Ah got another name and a personal stake in the success of this here expedition. Seriously."
If Roddy takes his hand, Costigan's grip is firm, but careful--he doesn't play dominance games by crushing hands.
He turns to look up at the Cybertronian here and gestures at the big cargo hatch. "Lord Starscream, welcome aboard and make yourself comfortable. We'll be moving out as soon as the last few board and those hatches get dogged down behind us."

Starscream doesn't deign to respond to Wednesday's comments, nor does he give the Autobot commanders a lecture on how they ought to control their troops. They're Autobots. Naturally they're lax with their subordinates, which leads their troops to be sloppy and disrespectful.
He acknowledges Costigan and Valerie with brief nods before boarding the sub. He doesn't even have to duck to get through the door.

Wednesday trails after his bosses into the sub, whistling an off-key tune as he goes. As he passes Valerie, he can't resist pointing two fingers at his eyes, then at her.
He is still totally mad at her. For things. So many things! And if it weren't for the truce, he would totally be laying a nemesis smack down on her bony rear! Yeah.
But he won't, because he does try to be obedient to his Autobosses. Tries.
And pouts.

The Crimson Cavalier would certainly disapprove of any attempts at smack-downs, even if he does understand the temptation.
Rodney returns Donal's handshake, studying him, though the human Prime keeps his interest within normal 'meeting new people who are an enemy in another body' ranges. He tilts his head forward. "Donal," he acknowledges.
The sub is big enough to hold Starscream, but because it is, there's not much room for much else, and thus they're a bit low on the usual number of twisty-turny compartments. Cavalier gets his directions straight quickly enough and moves towards the bridge. "Well, unless there's anything else, we'd better cast off."
OOC: Should we assume that there's a vid screen for the compartment Starscream is hanging about in, or is this an unusual one-big-room-only sub?

OOC: I am skippable under protest, because Rodimus Prime's player asked me to go skippable.
Valerie looks like a powderkeg, and Metatron is going to be stuck in a submarine with her. Great.
Costigan is failing to pay attention to Metatron, which is going to be his funeral.
Starscream is a problem. Can the Cavalier handle him, if it comes to that? Maybe. But throw in the rest of the Decepticons, and...
This looks really bad for the Autobots.
Wednesday is pouting over something.
Metatron enters the submarine suspiciously (too much water), but provided that Wednesday follows, she tries to speak to the sulking man, "Wednesday?" She lowers her voice a bit, "Concerned about the sudden inevitable betrayal?"

Vortex gives Wednesday hungry look. She can almost imagine what that little neck would feel like under her fingers, the snap his spine would make...
Right. Stay away from tempting little Autobots for now. Maiming them and smearing their entrails all over the place did was not conducive to getting work done at the moment. Stalking off, she goes to loiter somewhere near Starscream. Maybe the constant threat of an angry Decepticon higher up would keep her sane for a while.
Powder keg? What powder keg?

(Assume big hangar compartment for Starscream with giant-sized, HD vidscreen)
"Yeah, we're getting under way." He turns and heads to the piloting station after giving everyone extremely boring but generally important quick briefings on where the emergency air is, what to do if alarms go off, and what powers or weapons please not to use when we're all locked in a pressurized steel can deep underwater. Valerie gets some pointed stares when he's explaining why using anything that would suddenly alter the pressurization inside the sub would be a Bad Thing.
Costigan doesn't talk much once he takes his seat and starts maneuvering the sub out of the harbor. For one thing, he's busy; for another, he's wearing a pair of sonarman's headphones and is listening to the sea outside.
He isn't paying attention to individuals so much as the general tenor of voices--if someone starts losing his grip or her temper, part of his job is to calm them down. With just as much force as necessary to keep the sub from being wrecked before they accomplish their mission.
He's kept his meta nature under wraps for a long time; perhaps things will go smoothly and the Autobots will never know what Donal Costigan was capable of.
---- Skippable until we get there or a fight breaks out
