Month 12, Week 2, Day 1, at the UN headquarters in new York City
Emirate Xaaron is aware that this is a terrible idea, and yet, he is going to do it anyway. They need to make it to Cybertron, the sooner, the better, and yet, they do not have enough fuel to get the whole ship there.
They have two options: leave part of the ship behind or destroy it, so as to ensure the Decepticons never get their hands on it.
Destroying it would be wildly wasteful but if probably the better option.
Instead, they are leaving it behind and... giving it to humanity. The Gillanan biosphere and all. It'll be a Tower of Alien Science. maybe it'll help smooth things over with humanity after they ruined Detroit?
Or maybe humanity will just reverse engineer it and use it to start conquering neighbouring solar systems. Probably that.
Oh well.
Emirate Xaaron turns to the nearest Autobot or Maximal, and he asks, "Are the hors d'oeuvres ready? And did you get the rosewater Jell-O? There has to be rosewater Jell-O. I can't eat it anymore, but..."

"Yes, and... maybe? I didn't check what all they had, specifically," Rodimus answers with a shrug. "I'm assuming it wasn't energon, though."
Rodimus, too, knows that this is probably a terrible idea. He's from the same "base" universe as Emirate Xaaron, after all, and knows full well that there was a time when the Autobots were hunted by the humans. On the other hand, he also knows they eventually reached a point when the humans had access to at least some Autobot technology, and had managed not to conquer any neighboring species or blow themselves up, so he's a bit more confident on the matter than Emirate Xaaron.
Besides, they did wreck Detroit.

Spike fiddles with his tie. He knows he's supposed to wear this because of reasons, but couldn't he have done his dress uniform instead? Despite no longer still being in the service?
"Everything looking all right?" he asks the nearest human who might know the answer.

"Everything looks fine," Seymour Simmons assures the ambassador, "but that's how they get you. Who knows what horrors are inside NBE Artifact Seventeen over there, just waiting to be unleashed upon an unsuspecting America?"
Simmons does not object to dressing up. He is wearing his best black G-man suit and his best concealed shoulder-holster and his best breakaway pants, so as to be fully prepared in case of emergency.

Emirate Xaaron crouches to examine the hors d'oeuvres table, trying to determine if there is rosewaster Jell-O. He interjects to Simmons, "We will be giving you an instruction manual."
It'll take the humans decades if not centuries to make sense of it all, but the manual should at least keep the humans from killing themselves with this gift.

Rodimus nods. "In both English and Japanese!" he observes. The building is, after all, a gift to the UN, and thus it makes sense to include more languages than just English. It would probably have made sense to include something besides Japanese as the second language, but for whatever reason, when Cybertronian is translated into a human language, it's either to English or Japanese first.
He gives Simmons a puzzled look. "But... En-Bee-Eee?"

Spike would just prefer an excuse to go armed. Apparently this is frowned on when ambassadors do it at official events with the people they are ambassinating.
He grins up at Emirate Xaaron. "A manual's only good if people read it." He slants a glance at Simmons. "Though, I expect some people will be reading it very thoroughly."
He will, for one. Luna Base taught him better than to trust his life to things he can't even do basic troubleshooting on.

Oh, Emirate Xaaron, never underestimate humanity's ability to kill itself. When confronted with a bunch of giant eggs in a vast chamber that's styled to be reminiscent of bones, humanity's first instinct is to put its face next to one.
"Non-Biological Extraterrestrial," Simmons explains, somewhat crankily, arms crossed over his chest. "That's what we call it. We'll be reading the manual very thoroughly once it's been examined and decontaminated and irradiated and we are certain it is safe to do so."
It's possible he's still bitter about the whole 'aliens publicly announcing themselves when my organization was conceived to keep aliens secret' thing.

As an ambassador, Spike should have other people to do his shootifying for him. Did they leave those out? He should ask for a refund.
Emirate Xaaron speculates, "I imagine you're already trying to reverse engineer our technology, anyway."
He would be really, really shocked if they weren't.
"So how'd you design the decontamination procedures, if you do not actually know what the contaminants might be? How do you know you're not missing something?"

Rodimus looks a little baffled at the terminology. "Do you deal in other non-biological extraterrestrials because... we've already told you what we're called?" he asks, and it's a valid enough question, there are enough of them. He tilts his head and considers, muttering, "Well, I guess there's the lipoles... you guys are far enough into your solar system for them, right?"

Spike probably does. He always was a little too hands-on for his own good.
He gives Simmons a congenial smile and a go-on gesture. He wants to hear the answers to the questions as much as the next sentient, sapient being.
He's not going to ask what a lipole is, though. (At least not until he gets home.)

"I'm not at liberty to divulge that information," Simmons says in the most smug tone he can manage when addressing towering metal colossi. He sneaks a glance at his watch when it seems no-one is looking. "Rest assured the decontamination procedures are extremely thorough." If the instruction manual survives them at all, it will be nothing short of miraculous, as far as Simmons is concerned.
He's not about to give the Autobots the satisfaction of asking what lipoles are. Surely the ambassador is going to do that. It's part of his ambassing duties, right?
