Month 12, Week 2, Day 1. Event Horizon. Open.
Mayday is searching for Breakaway. Well, not really searching. He already has a pretty good idea where Breakaway is, since he hooked into the ship systems and used them to pinpoint his friend's location. Which probably isn't creepy. Maybe.
So. Mayday is heading towards Breakaway's last known location, actually in his alt-mode for once. After such a long time in human skin it was nice to stretch his treads whenever possible.
Scooting around a corner, he gives a happy meepmeep of his horn. Target located!

Breakaway isn't all that hard to find. He's right in his office (he has an office), doing his own paperwork for once instead of pawning it off onto Skystrike. (He has paperwork.) The jetformer looks up from the terminal he's staring listlessly into when Mayday appears around the doorframe.
Any miniscule amount of interest he may once have had in doing any official military business that does not involve either flying or shooting instantly evaporates.
"Mayday! What's up?"

Mayday unfurls from his vehicle mode, hopping to his feet to give Breakaway a big smile. "Hey, um, bro." They may not be biological siblings, but that doesn't mean Breakaway isn't still his bro. A few human habits may have worn off on him.
He rubs the back of his head, piecing together his thoughts to try and get to his point succinctly instead of rambling around it in circles. Probability of success: moderate. "So, uh, you're really good at shooting, right?"
Minus points for stating the obvious, Mayday. Breakaway would be a pretty terrible sniper if he wasn't good at shooting.

"I am the best at shooting," Breakaway boasts. "Why, are the other kids bullying you?" he asks, optics wrinkling in a fashion that suggests a grin behind his mask. "Try shoving your welder in their wrists. I hear that works on Air Commanders."
The computer terminal begins beeping angrily as Breakaway leans back in his chair and decides to use the keyboard as a footrest.

"Aha. Hahaha. Ha." Mayday's smile turns into a bit of a grimace at the memory of his encounter with Starscream. "That was, uh. That sure was... terrible."
Never again.
"I, um." He's distracted for a moment by Breakaway's computer, and he frowns disapprovingly at his friend's feet on the keyboard. "I'm not in any sort of trouble. I was just thinking that like... when I was, y'know... a human. And, uh, a super... soldier... thing. It was kind of nice to be... be..." He flails a hand around a bit, trying to thinking of the right word to use. "... Useful?"

Breakaway's eyes scrunch up in consternation and he takes his feet off the desk, replacing them with both hands as he leans forward for emphasis. "I get what you're trying to say, Mayday, but you are useful. An army marches on its fuel tanks, but it has to do it on roads built by its corps of engineers." The jetformer is impressed by his cleverness for all of three seconds. "My god that was lame. Don't tell anyone I said anything that corny. My point still stands, though."

Mayday grins. "Your secret is safe with me." He ducks his head a bit. "And I know that I'm important for the ship and all, and I love that, and I wish we didn't have to fight at all, but..."
He lets out a long gust of air. "Buuut combat keeps seeking us out, so I was thinking that, um, maybe I should learn to be more useful there too. And since combat is..." Another hand flail. "...horrible. Maybe I could help out from far away? Like. Sniping?"

Breakaway is flattered by Mayday's desire to imitate him. "I can train you, but where am I starting here? How good is your shooting?" he asks, stretching his arms over his head as he gets up from behind his desk and heads out the door. "Anyway, we may as well start now. I'll meet you in the main training room. This hallway is just long enough for me to hit Mach I before crashing into the wall."
So saying, Breakaway hops into the air and transforms, jetting down the hallway and emitting a sonic boom just before transforming back to robot mode, pushing off the wall with his feet and disappearing around the corner.

"Um, well, I think I'm probably like... average? I don't really shoot much, since I don't really have much of a- Breakaway?" Mayday blinks slowly as Breakaway heads out the door and promptly disappears at mach speeds.
Well. Someone apparently really wanted out of that office! Dropping back into vehicle mode, Mayday follows at a much more sedate pace relative to his friend. Breakaway will probably end up with a bit of a wait by the time Mayday joins him.

Breakaway will use the wait to program up the holodeck with some simple torso-outline-bullseye targets at varying distances. Unless there's someone else in there already using it?

There is someone using the holoroom! (Because it's possible and more characters in thread!) It's currently a racing track where a highspeed battle is going on between several AI racing cars equipped with guns mounted to the hoods and a white-teal-magenta F1 racing car. The F1 is much faster in speed but the very presence of the guns forces it to twist, flip and duck nonstop to keep its pole position. It’s obviously an addition for a mech who is used to being in the lead, to keep things interesting.
This race has been going on for a while though, and the jet is only just in time to see the last few turns before the F1 zooms across the finish line, slams the brake, slips around to face backwards and comes to a sudden controlled stop. It gives its hologram opponents one last challenging, gleeful rev of the engine before they fade out. With the competition gone, the racer lets his engine whine down from its massive roar until its nothing more but a gentle purr, cooling systems working hard to reduce the intense heat emanating from the mech. Car flips to robot mode, and Skid-Z stretches lazily. Only after a few seconds does he notice Breakaway (and Mayday?) and gives him/them a rakish grin.
"Hey there!"

Mayday drives into the area and transforms, rolling up onto his feet and deciding to give Breakaway a punch on the arm. It's about as hard a punch as Mayday can manage without damaging his own wrist, which means it's not a particularly strong punch at all.
"Someone reeeally wanted out of that office, hu-" Suddenly! A wild Skid-Z is spotted! Engage socially awkward mode! "Oh, um, hi."

"'Sup, Skid-Z," greets Breakaway, nodding briefly at the carformer and half-raising a hand. And then Mayday punches him on the arm, which is awesome, because Mayday just touched him voluntarily and isn't rushing off to wash. The jetformer tries not to let his elation at this small victory show.
"Offices suck," he opines. "You done with your race or whatever, Skid-Z? Mayday wanted to run some target practice." Automobile races make Breakaway sad. Cars seeing who can go fastest is like Dinobots seeing who can be smartest.1
1. Blurr confuses Breakaway on a deep, emotional level.

“Nope.” Is the prompt and abrupt response to whether Skid-Z is done with what he was doing. He strides to one of the screens that materializes to show him the statistics of this race, the 27th he’d been doing today aside patrols, watches and other duties. “And I wouldn’t call it a race. A race can have different winners. Not here; I’m leading, A.I. is trying its best to slag me, they fail, I win. If I wanted a race, I’d be down in Europe. … Maybe I should be, visit Monaco -bet my vehicle form would like to visit its home city.”
With a tap he dismisses the board, thinking about what Breakaway said, “Target practice?” He eyes Mayday and his ease around Breakaway, frowning in thoughtful contemplation of the challenge in their plans. His frown is quickly replaced with another playful, confident grin, “Mayday is being cute, I see. Very good. Go right ahead you two.”
With that, he crosses his arms over one another and waits expectantly. He's not leaving; he's watching.

"Cute?" Breakaway echoes, cocking a brow. He shrugs, wings lifting and falling, then programs in his simulation, a simple target range with targets at various distances. He also programs in a variety of weapons on a rack.
"Start with that chemically-propelled projectile rifle there," he instructs, pointing to the weapon he means. "Once you learn to shoot with a weapon with a real kick to it, adjusting to energy weapons is easy."
