Reid is a fairly simple man. Much of the detail of what Sharp says goes over his head.
Reid is not, however, a stupid man.
He levels a considering look on his captor.
"And it doesn't much matter if I believe you or not, does it?" he says softly.
"I don't suppose I get one final chance to fight for my life, huh?"

"No, and of course not! That would be stupid!" Professor Sharp turns away and hooks the brain module into another device, one with a lot of wires, a speaker, and a bronze cone of some sort. "Don't worry, though!" he adds. "Once you're back in your proper body, you'll be glad we did it!" He pauses a moment and tilts his head. "Or you'll be dead, in which case you won't care, anyway." He shrugs. "Either way."
He flicks a switch and... nothing happens. A monitor attached to the device show several readings, but little of interest seems to be happening on them. He gestures towards it. "Now, see? This... this means that Misfire is, in fact, somewhere still alive."
Then he grabs an oddly shaped gun with a lot of curved shapes off his belt and turns towards Reid. "But not for much longer!"
He fires.

Reid dies in singularly dull fashion.
A few moments later, the device which Sharp was detailing earlier shows a lot more activity, and a voice speaks up.
"Aimless?"
There's a lot of confusion in that one word, along with an undercurrent of panic.

Professor Sharp looks at Ghostfire a moment, and then shifts somewhat nervously.
"Erm, yeah, about them..." he answers, rubbing the back of his head. "I'd... erm... look inward. I mean, not literally, I don't have you hooked up to any optics yet or anything. Just metaphysically."

Ghostfire looks back at Professor Sharp and suggests, "Build an android body and just download Aimless's memory engram to the body from Misfire's mind?"

"Needlenose?" Misfire asks, searchingly. There's quite a lot of confusion conveyed in that one word.
"I... don't really feel anything of him at all. The bond is there but his mind isn't. What happened? Did my body get slagged or something? Did Aimless...?"
The ghost of Misfire in the machine finds he can't actually ask that painful question.

"Well, if we can pick 'em out, we can try that," Sharp answers Ghostfire, then looks back at the brain-in-a-jar. "Eh, close enough, and... you don't remember? Being a human, I mean."

Ghostfire shrugs. Memory loss is typical in the newly rebooted. It will come back in time. What the brain module forgets, the soul remembers.
