Commence bogglement.
//Well. All right. Of course, the movie-date traditions are generally human.// Transformers, after all, didn't have females prior to Arcee. //But usually, you just ask if she wants to watch one with you. Typically, a refueling is done either before or after in each other's company, and you may want to provide her with a gift of some sort, although that's optional, and sometimes is delayed until later viewings.//
Weird. But if Rodimus can help out...

...what the heck could he get Pee-Dee? There isn't exactly a gift store for Autobots around here, and Emirate Xaaron isn't really crafty as far as crafts go. Pee-Dee, I drew you a diagram of a Mark III Iacon Industries industrial nuclear reactor! He's sure that would go over swimmingly. Pee-Dee, I drew you a battle plan. Yeah, no.
Wait, back to the reactor. Zombies. She's kind of like a zombie, isn't she? Maybe she'd like a harpoon?
Maybe Emirate Xaaron needs help. Psychiatric, perhaps.
She's a police officer. She enforces the law. She probably already has a pair of hand-cuffs.
...well. He does have a set of scales on him. Old-style, balance scales. He can probably ask Long Haul or someone to make him a new pair.
//I think I can do that. I appreciate your assistance.//

//Erm, no problem,// answers Rodimus Prime, who really didn't need to be faced with the idea of the legendary Emirate Xaaron involved in anyone romantically.
Ah, well.

This post takes place right after the orders given to Wedge
//Sir, Skyfire's reported that our exploration team has arrived at the Desert arrival area and located three bodies. One of them was identified by Gizmo as Brawn, who is dead in my timeline. The others are unidentified.//
//I've told them to destroy the sensors and attempt to hide the bodies. According to Skyfire, if he's reading them, Shockwave may be reading them, and we don't have the extra time to spend changing the encryption codes just so Shockwave can re-adjust them down the road.//

//Skyfire just reported Decepticons at the swamp sensors. Wreckage, Cannonball, and Shrapnel. I'm asking about a remote destruct, but considering he hasn't mentioned anything like that before, I don't have my hopes up.//
//I'm going to recommend he make a quick jaunt and just blow the hell out of the area, sensor and all, then withdraw, probably with a flying passenger in case things get messy.//

Emirate Xaaron was being criminally negligent to his poor troops when he did not reply the first time. He could have offered advice or at least affirmed that Rodimus's choices were correct, reinforcing the young Prime's faith in himself.
Perhaps he was genuinely, honestly preoccupied at the time, and perhaps the message slipped his mind when he did have the time.
It's still a wretched shame, and Rodimus Prime would be well within his rights to call him on it.
Yet, Emirate Xaaron is canny, and he starts off with, //I am sorry, Rodimus Prime. I really should have asked for a better sitrep before now. So you are go, but I do want that better sitrep.//

//Working on getting that, sir. Also, no remote destruct that Skyfire knows of.//

//Wedge reports 'company.' No ID yet.//
No, Rodimus Prime did not automatically send back-up. Most Autobots are all warriors, and sometimes you have to be able to trust your troops to fend for themselves.

//No more information than what I already reported on the Swamp situation, Emirate Xaaron. Wreckage, Cannonball, and Shrapnel are there. I'm sending Skyfire with Evac as emergency back-up, and keeping Slingshot and Skyblast in reserve in case things go bad for the desert team. Skyfire has been advised to get in, destroy the sensors, and get out. Considering everything else, I figure we want to avoid a prolonged engagement right now.//

//Wedge has requested back-up.//
Rodimus's voice is tight. He is not pleased over spreading themselves this thin at this time, but there's nothing else for it.

//Sir, not sure what you can see from your location,// Rodimus begins in a tone that suggests that Emirate Xaaron really shouldn't be at that location, but that it's probably for the best anyway, //but the base may be a lost cause.//
It's just too difficult to properly re-enforce a parking garage!

//I can see a burning dumpster,// Emirate Xaaron notes wryly, but his voice is tight and strained. //We will rebuild. They can break us down, but they can't snuff us out. Concentrate on keeping proprietary information safe.//

Rodimus knows a thing or two about rebuilding from the ashes himself, but rather than point this out, he asks, //Shall I order the databases wiped now, sir, or wait until the folks on the roof have to retreat?//
Fortunately, there are back-ups of most everything in peoples' personal possessions, but that will still be an unfortunate loss.

//They have Mayhems, quite likely an evil Mirage, and who knows what else. We had better wipe the databases now. Do we have anyone inside?//
Don't look at Emirate Xaaron.
