This board is to be used, more or less, to represent the Decepticons' IC computer network and the information that can be found on it. Things that can and should go here include:
* "Common Knowledge" - Stuff that any character in the faction should be able to find out with a minimum of poking around.
* IC Entertainment Files - Some characters arrived here with music, videos, ebooks, etc, mentioned in their applications, or have mentioned them in role-play. For any character who wishes to upload those for everyone's benefit, they can make posts listing what they are providing. If they want to ICly contribute anonymously, they should make an OOC note in the post indicating such. And, similar to, say, Youtube or whatnot, other characters can leave IC observations, reviews, and so forth as replies.
* Reports - Run into the Autobots on patrol? It's probably a good idea if most people are made aware of it. Find a dangerous artifact or potential new energy source? Let people know. These reports can be posted in text format or written as though they are audio or video recordings, depending on what seems IC for the character.
* And so on. The above are a few examples, but do not make up the limits of what can go on this board by any means.
Unless otherwise indicated, it is assumed that all information posted on this board can be found by any other character. However, someone can make a report intended, say, only for the upper Chain of Command. Those posts should be marked as such. Unless a character is upper CoC themselves, or they can only put an "Average" level of protection on their posts. Exceptions: If a character has Hacking or Security, they can create a file with a level of protection equal to their skill level. If a character has Espionage, Sabotage, Spec-Ops, or Engineering they can create a file with a level of protection one skill level lower (an "Excellent" engineer can protect their file at "Good" level).
When accessing files, those in the upper CoC will have full rights, and so can access anything in the system. No other character can access a protected file, not even an "Average" or "Amateur" protected file without the appropriate skill. For the purpose of hacking, the Hacking skill counts at its level. Security, Espionage, Sabotage, Spec-Ops, and Engineering all count at a level lower.
2k7 Movie Frenzy can use his Espionage at the same level, instead of one level lower. Nightbeat can use Investigation to protect files or hack at one level lower than his normal skill level.
Posts that are protected should include a line indicating who can ICly access those files, and what level they are protected at.
The current Decepticon upper CoC members: Starscream, Shockwave, Hook, Spinister.
