Not one millimeter of ground does Mirage give when Perceptor pushes forward; if the hound does not fear the Prime he most certainly does not fear this one. Even knowing what Perceptor can do, he does not fear.
This confrontation has been long in coming, smoldering for some time. It only needed the proper accelerant to cause the flare up.
Mirage's optics narrow when Perceptor takes his drink. Mirage's mouth opens, he starts to retort, and then he finds himself lifted bodily off his feet. Oh, he struggles, dropping the cube and pushing back against Perceptor, but Mirage has just learned something he did not know before.
Perceptor is stronger than Mirage.
The hound jerks back at the touch of Perceptor's lips, and when that proves insufficient to deter Perceptor, Mirage decides to make his point more clear. One hand wraps around Perceptor's scope and squeezes, and Mirage feels the metal give under his fingers. A thin bladed hunting knife appears in the other hand, it's blade slipping easily between the neck and shoulder join. It rests against those vital lines, pressed firmly but not firmly enough to cut. Not yet.
"Put. Me. Down!" Mirage spits the words into Perceptor's mouth.

When the kiss begins, Rodimus gives up all pretense of cold neutrality, throws his bead back, and laughs. He then goes back to watching, only to laugh harder at Mirage's reaction. Now, the Prime watches with a delighted grin. He claps his hands together and rubs them briefly.
Strength is a valuable tool, and Perceptor may have the edge there, but Mirage is a crafty one, and if Perceptor is to be one of Prime's, he needs to learn that his hound is no passive pup. He doesn't step in to interfere - if both of his can't take care of themselves, they don't deserve their position, anyway, and besides, his toys are free to play with each other, or whomever else they chose, so long as they're there when he wishes to play with them as well.
Rodimus takes his attention away from the struggle to glance around the party. Before long, it will be time to mingle with those who are less... acutely aware of the fact that they're owned, but for now, he's enjoying himself too much right here.

No, Mirage is no "passive pup," but it is not Perceptor who had initially picked this little fight. Perhaps Mirage needs to learn that there may be unexpected consequences to his jackdaw pecking actions.
Though pain spikes through his systems sharply, he does not flinch when the casing to his scope crumples under Mirage's fingertips, nor when that blade slides through the narrow gap to rest upon vital lines within. Yes, Mirage could hurt him sore, perhaps even fatally with but a bare flick of his wrist. Perceptor, however, has spent eons studying how Cybertronian systems function, and how to most efficiently... alter those functions.
Perceptor will not slip quietly into deactivation, if Mirage makes the attempt, nor will he be taking that trip alone. His smile is as cold and dispassionate as his gaze as he studies Mirage for several long moments, frozen with that blade resting within him and his hands caught firmly around the spy. Just the flex of his fingers, a slice or two with a quickly summoned scalpel...
Perhaps it is that certainty which lurks in the shadows of that cruel, grim smile. Perhaps it is, instead, madness skulking there. Whichever the case, Perceptor remains silent, save for that knowing smirk, as he releases Mirage from his grasp.

Perceptor is skilled and, yes, he could quite possibly incapacitate Mirage even as the spy made that crippling cut. But this Mirage fought his way up from the gutters of the Cybertron's underground, a place not know for its leniency on those fair of face and fragile of plating. Mirage was not always so skilled or so strong as he is now; there was a time, long ago, when he played the part of pet in truth.
He will not go back to that. Not for anyone or anything. He will not become that again.
Rodimus' laughter washes over Mirage like coldfire, and the spy is suddenly still, no cruelty, no bite, expression flat and cold. Killer gaze meets madman's gaze, holding it until Mirage's feet are once again on the ground, his body free of Perceptor's hands. Only then does Mirage release his grip on that delicate scope. He pulls the knife forward, sliding it just along those vital lines- no pressure, just a reminder.
With his empty hand, Mirage wipes hard at his mouth, stepping back from Perceptor. His movements are still deliberate, careful, as he turns away, gliding over to stand in front of Rodimus. Mirage looks up at Rodimus, and his optics narrow and flare as he talks.
"Laugh all you like. But if he ever touches me again I will kill him, and I don't give a platinum-plated tinker's damn about the consequences."

"Fair enough," Rodimus grins down at Mirage, "though I'm inclined to wonder if you even can send him so far that I couldn't retrieve him."1
Rodimus reaches up with his free hand and attempts to brush across Mirage's cheek lightly with his fingertips, but it is a quick, fleeting motion. Then he swiftly turns away.
"I thank you both for the entertainment you've provided, but for now, I think I'll move nearer the fire."
Rodimus always did like fire.
1 Transformer life and death in the Marvel universe is pretty murky, but there appears to be multiple levels of 'dead.' That is, Transformers have many levels of "mostly dead," and on some of them, the Matrix can revive a mechanoid that conventional repair technology cannot, but on the other hand, some of the comics from the moive timeline suggest there is also a level of death beyond which even the Matrix can reach.
And then there's the zombies. We won't even get into those.

Though he will need to repair the damage to his scope - conventionally, as opposed to the last manner in which it was... repaired - there is a smug smirk gracing Perceptor's features as he watches Mirage back stiffly away. So. Such unguessed at depths to Mirage's hatred.
Unguessed, but no longer unknown. The hound will bear watching more closely now. And the Prime... The Prime has no intention of ever releasing him. Not even to death. The thought is as terrifying as it is liberating.
That swift gesture of the Prime's however, reminds Perceptor of just how near Mirage's jibes had struck, and his hands curl into tight fists for a moment. Only a moment, though; the night is young. The night is very young, and Perceptor... needs a drink.

"Maybe not, but I damn sure can try."
Mirage's grips shifts on the knife he still holds. That light touch does connect, but Mirage shows no reaction. Being near to the Prime does not normally spike anger in the hound, though it tends to bring out his darker qualities. But right now, with the taste of that madmech still upon his lips, and the laughter on Rodimus' face- oh, it has been a long time, such a long time, since Mirage has truly wished to kill, to rip and tear, to destroy.
"Entertainment," Mirage spits out at the Prime's retreating form, "Enter-fraggin'-tainment!" Perceptor's leaving catches Mirage's attention and he turns, the knife flipping over so that he is grasping it by the blade. So tempting.....
Mirage turns away with a growl and stalks off, away from this temptation, and away from this thread.
OOC: Thread empty.
