"Cool. Sign me up," Duskwing told Fleetwind, then watched with a puzzled expression as Misfire's gun transformed and wandered off.
"Hey, your gun just went AWOL... " he said. "You got one of them little guys, too!"
"I survived, din't I?" Duskwing replied to Misfire with a smirk and a shrug.
"Shot some of dem up, got tagged some, got punched in the face by Long Haul--" Duskwing rubbed his nose again, "got some bastards what needed getting..." He shrugged again. "Decent battle. Got action, didn't get slagged, we won."

Fleetwind watches Misfire's gun wander off. He shakes his head, then turns towards Misfire. "What's it like, to be tied to one of... one of... well, those." It's bewildering to the Seeker, that someone would bind themselves to an organic.
He tilts his head and listens to Duskwing's summary of the battle. When the other Seeker finishes, Fleetwind smiles faintly and summarizes, "A good day, then, huh?"

Misfire just shrugs when Duskwing comments on Aimless, "He actually isn't going far. He'll find a quiet spot away from all of us and stew awhile. Besides," Misfire actually grins, "If things go south here, Aimless is most definitely not who you want me to be wielding in such close quarters."
Misfire is wishing he had another cube, if only to have something to do with his hands. He settles for lacing his hands behind his back in loose imitation of parade rest while Duskwing relates his version of things. "Yes, any battle you can walk away from and all that. At least you're in one piece and able to attend the festivities."
He is about to add more when Fleetwind asks his question. Misfire frowns, and it's Fleetwind's phrasing rather than the question that causes that frown, "Nebulan. He's a Nebulan. A person, an individual: at least as much as one can be when bound to another as he is." Misfire tilts his head down a moment, and when he looks up again, the polite smile is back again, "It requires a....reevaluation of one's thinking. I don't know that I would have chosen it, were it a choice. But it was an order, and a necessity at the time."

"Yeah, like dat," Duskwing said agreeably to Fleetwind and Misfire. He could have grumbled about Starscream treating him all wrong, but he just didn't feel like it. The doped energon was lowering his inhibitions--but he'd chosen fortunate company, and was turning unusually mellow rather than going to his highly belligerent norm.
If he were human, he'd be getting a bad case of the munchies....
Duskwing gave Misfire a confused look, head tilted slightly. "So why's he called Aimless?"

"My apologies, Misfire, I didn't mean to offend." Goodness, but these people are touchy about their pets! He tilts his head and, for a moment, has a distant expression. Could he do that? Tie himself to an... an... organic?
Actually, if it looked like his best option for survival, he probably could.
"It requires something of an adjustment to my mindset just getting used to them on our side. In my reality, alliances with organics tended to be... short lived."
He glances at Duskwing when the other Seeker asks his questions, then returns his attention to Misfire, curious, himself, to hear the answer.

Misfire shrugs, "I wasn't used to any sort of alliance with organics before Scorponok...convinced Zarak that such would be prudent. If you think having an organic as your weapon is odd, wait until a Headmaster shows up in this place." Because obviously, one will show up on Gillanan III eventually, one way or another. "It is rather disconcerting to see one's leader's head transform into something so fragile."
"And no apologies needed. It's just that, well, they aren't pets, like so many think. They- those that chose to become master partners- they each had their own reasons for doing it, but one of those reasons was to protect their planet and way of life. To fight for a cause they believed in. I can respect that."
Misfire actually laughs at Duskwing's question, "Um, because he can't hit the broadside of Broadside. Not that I'm any better, really, but I do at least try to aim."

Duskwing just stared at Misfire in baffled silence. Head-what-who?
After some time, he finally said, "Uh, so Aimless got no aim? Hey, dat makes sense for a name, then!"

"Protect their planet and their way of life?" Fleetwind takes a light, conservative sip of his cube as he considers this. "Isn't that normally the reason organics give for helping the Autobots?"
He takes another small sip, then frowns curiously at Misfire. "They, erm, do know what our goals are, right?" Maybe they think the universe will be safer if only one group controls the whole thing, and want to throw in their lot with that one group? Who knows.
He makes no comment over Misfire's admissions to being unable to aim, but does make a mental note to not be anywhere in front of the other jet in combat.

Misfire only answer to Fleetwind is to shrug and say, "They do now."
A few moments of silence, and Misfire shifts a bit where he stands, "I'm debating on another cube, but the drinks have been out awhile now, and there are too many chemists here."
His gaze lingers on the Prime a moment, then shifts to where Shockwave seems to be watching everyone. "Do you think there'd be problems if we went for a short flight? If either of you are interested, that is. This is...not my type of gathering."

"I don't see why there'd be a problem," Fleetwind says. He takes one 'step' into the air, unconscioiusly and automatically demonstrating his recently discussed antigravs. "I mean, we weren't told not to, after all." He turns back towards the others. "Ready?

Just before the three jets can fly away into the night, a blue and white mech glides out of the deepening shadows. A mech that is still more than a little angry. A mech that against better judgement snagged another cube from the table and downed it entirely too fast.
A mech now on a very specific mission.
Mirage walks straight up to Duskwing, grabs his hand and pumps it up and down a few times. Mirage mumbles, "Thanks. Not a bad job you did out there." A sharp glance in Perceptor's direction, "Next time just try and be more thorough." Then, almost as quickly as he appeared, Mirage glides off, moving closer in to the gathering.
OOC: drunken thanking shaking of Duskwing's hand done with permission. In and out post ok'd by all players in thread.

"All right then, let's" Misfire agrees, taking a few steps back to give himself room to transform and take off, though he does give Fleetwind an envious glance. Misfire will most definitely be putting in that upgrade request soon. He quickly checks in with Aimless; the Nebulan has found himself a place to hide and sulk nearby as expected. However, he does not want to be left on the ground alone.
"I'll be a minute behind, Aimless is on his way b-" He is interrupted as Mirage makes his entrance and exit, and if Misfire was in robot mode he'd be gaping.
"Okay...that was odd."

Duskwing gaped at Mirage, too surprised at the handshake to do or say anything. He stared at the departing Autobot for several moments.
"Huh?" Duskwing stared after Mirage some more, then glanced where Mirage had glanced--at Perceptor. (Or, to Duskwing, "that hackjob drone-tech what needs his CPU replaced. Wit' a jackhammer.")
"Huh." Duskwing shrugged and levitated like Fleetwind did, then transformed well above head level. "Ready when you are."

Fleetwind watches calmly as Mirage wanders up, shakes Duskwing's hand, and wanders off again. He looks where Mirage glances, and sees Perceptor, then shrugs. Infighting. It's enough of a way of life among Decepticons that the Seeker isn't surprised to see that it applies to these Autobots. All the more reason to keep his head down and be just as inoffensive among this gang as he is among his own kind.
"I'm ready." He nods towards Misfire. "See you when you catch up." With that, he lifts himself a little higher, transforms, and rockets almost straight upward, causing an audible roar and a crash as he moves past sound. Still, he's going straight up. Can't be too hard to find.
