Needlenose swoops down after Springer, transforming, and lands near Springer. He cackles. "Drive me off? Why, you're doing a lousy job of it!" Misfire was dealing with Midnight (or so Needlenose thinks; he didn't see the other taking off with a Prime in tow), leaving the Wrecker to the Mayhem.
As it should be.
And with the foe-Bumblebee on the field, making things just that much more slated in the villains' favor? Why, that's just ener-icing.
When Needlenose lands, as he transforms, the two humanoids jump from his cockpit. He opens his hands, and those humanoids transform themselves, landing in his hands as guns. He transmits a warning to his fellow villains, then lifts Sunbeam into the air.
"Time to shed a little light on the subject, I think."
He fires.

Misfire's particle bolts crackle against Midnight-3's armor; he gives a low laugh as the baby Prime latches on to the colorful flier, and thunders on towards Needlenose. He'd been built resistant to heat and energy damage--what's the point of designing a nearly indestructible warrior if a little surge or overheating can fry all his processors?
As for Needlenose--fast, agile target, and hard to put down was what Midnight remembered about him. Unlike Hellbender's original form, Midnight-3's guns weren't especially powerful--they were standard Seeker arm-guns. Ditto for his cluster-bombs, air-to-air missiles and other heavy ordinance--strictly standard issue for standard red-shirt targets.
On the other hand, all that heavy armor, weighty ordinance, beefed-up engines and heavy internal, armored, redundant systems of Midnight's required a strong, powerful frame to support it. If he got Evil Needlenose in his hands, there'd shortly be parts of Needlenose all over the battlefield. Or at least the traitorous Decepticon's fuel pump crushed in Midnight's hands. Yeah.
His air-to-air missiles might be standard issue, but they'd at least scratch Needlenose's too-colorful paint. As he closed, he launched a missile at Needlenose's back, hoping the strike would disorient the deadly Mayhem momentarily. Then Midnight-3 transformed, letting momentum and lifters carry him at the Mayhem, arms spread to grapple.
As Needlenose drew his weapons, Midnight remembered two other things--his weapons were Nebulons, Singe, the exceedingly hot flamethrower, and Sunbeam, who--
"OPTICS! HIDE 'EM" Midnight bellowed in warning to all in audial range as he flung one arm over his face--the other still reaching for Needlenose.
Too late. The world turned white, then black---
--- Will Midnight tackle Needlenose anyway? Did his missile scratch paint? Will his redundant processors take over from his stunned optical processor in time, or will Midnight discover a weak point in his design--multiple CPUs and one optical block means bottleneck? Will he get to rip Needlenose's fuel pump out? Will Misfire shed Baby Prime and shoot them all full of holes?

Optimus' grapple sends him flying in the skies. Despite Misfire's best attempts at throwing him around, he still manages to hold on. However, he is unable to shield his optics when Needlenose opens fire with Sunbeam, and his optics temporarily fry-out. "Arrgh!" He hits the auto-recall on his grapple, hoping to close the distance between himself and his airborne opponent, and hopefully reduce the likelihood of getting thrown into something. It's not long before his optics re-activate, but for now he's not rising retrieving his axe when he could lose it so easily.

Without stopping in car-mode, Bumblebee transforms into robot mode. A wave of dust is sprayed to his side as he skids to a halt. It's all one fluid motion. Transform, battlemask on, gun out, open fire mercilessly at Springer.

Misfire is glad Needlenose thought to warn his allies, because while the interceptor would recognize Sunbeam, he's a bit preoccupied at the moment.
It's deucedly uncomfortable, that drag on his front, throws off his balance. The grapple line is scraping hard against Misfire's plating as the jet twists and turns. How Prime is managing to hold on to the line at such speeds is a bit baffling, but Misfire chalks it up his passenger being a small Optimus Prime and therefore more stubborn- or foolishly heroic- than the average.
Aimless turns on his turret as Misfire makes a wide arc, laying dowwn a sweeping line of fire in the area that Prime- and his line- should be occupying in the air during such a maneuver. But then, it is Aimless, and who knows who else might be in the Targetmaster's line of fire, or if Prime even is.
The pull on the line is tightening, shortening. Not good. Misfire dives suddenly. He'll pull up at the last possible second. Hopefully, there's still enough slack in the line that he can smash the Primeling into the desert.

Springer smirks at the verbal jab, and returns it. "Well, It's a bit tricky to do with all these other 'bots trying to cut in on our alone time, y'know."
Speaking of, that Bumblebee is getting to be a royal pain in Springer's diodes. "And some 'bots, they just can't take a hint" he snaps, taking a couple of shots, then running to the side to strafe the Evil 'Vette. "Hope you're not our Bumblebee, or this is gonna be hard to explain when this fight is over..." Might not be much, but since the radio's busted, not much he can do to confirm identities.
While he's firing on Bumblebee, Springer takes a glance back in Needlenose's direction. He's holding a Nebulan - that one is purple, though, not green like the one that was a pain in Springer's arm earlier. What was that Rodimus said about the other one?
Oh, scrap. Midnight screams, and Needlenose makes a light pun. So, Springer powers off his optics and stands in one place. He keeps one gun firing in the general Bumblebee-ish vicinity he had been firing at, and then points his other arm vaguely in Needlenose's direction. Going by last-seen-position firing might not be the best thing to do, as it's about as accurate as Misfire, but it's better than being an open target.

The missile does more than scratch Needlenose's pretty paint, serving, in fact, to knock him off his feet, denting his wings badly and sending a chunk of desert rock though his right shoulder. "Graaah!" he exclaims, throwing himself down (and somewhat protectively over his guns). This, at least, manages to throw him beneath Springer's shots in his direction as well.
"It's not just my side cutting in," the Mayhem snarls, pulling himself to his feet. He snatches Zigzag and Sunbeam from the desert floor and charges right towards Springer, although his step falters as one of Misfire's shots, intended for another target entirely, manage to ping his mangled wing. He does rather hope Bumblebee takes the hint and stops firing before he closes the distance entirely, but if not, that'll be dealt with.
Either way, we'll see just how willing Midnight is to keep up with those rockets and bombs when Needlenose is dancing toe to toe with his Wrecker 'partner.'

Midnight shakes his head, anticipating control switching to a backup CPU while the one controlling his optics reboots. Any time now... any time? Real soon? Right now would be good?
Still blind, he flails at air instead of catching Needlenose, then sinks to one knee as he catches himself against the ground with his outstretched arm.
Frag. His optical processors aren't redundant--then a very grainy, static-laden black & white image pops up--backup CPUs cross-processing. That has to be Needlenose charging toward Springer--and straight away from Midnight. Who's the car Springer was shooting at? Bumblebee or Skid-Z or Sideburn or an Evil Stunticon? At least the shape's wrong for Kup. Probably.
Midnight's boot-toe digs into the sand as he pushes off and sprints toward Needlenose and Springer. His vision is still too corrupted to trust his aim; no shooting for now. As he runs, colored static flickers across his vision again and again, slowly filling colored dots in for the black and white....

Optimus can see again! It's a mira--oh. Wait. GROUND.
A lot of experience in swinging on his grapple lines prevent a full body impact as he swings up at the precise moment, but completely avoiding the ground was just impossible. Shouting in pain with the violent impact that results in large dents and scrapes on his legs, Optimus continues to ascend with his grappler until he is close enough to do some damage. He retrieves his axe in his free hand, swinging down onto whatever he can manage to connect with.

Springer's shots go wild, but sadly Bumblebee is not able to see his opponent either. He tries to charge at Springer based on where the blaster fire is coming from, but completely misses him. When his vision finally returns, he charges again.

Satisfying as that pain-filled shout from his tag-a-long is, Misfire is not happy. Mainly because he still has a tag-a-long that is closing the distance entirely too rapidly. Jerk left, corkscrew, loop- oh, frag!
Optimus' axe sinks into Misfire's armour just to one side of the jet's sigil. The sudden pain combined with the weight shift causes Misfire to veer off to one side. Aimless gives a startled yelp and transforms, tumbling into Misfire's quickly-opened cockpit. The Nebulan cowers down in his seat, all bravado and indifference chased away by fear.
//You are supposed to be helping!// Misfire yells as he heads into a very tight, very fast spiral. Might not knock Prime off, but it should at least play havoc with the Autobot's sense of balance.
//Can't shoot him without shooting you! Get him off get him off get him off!// Aimless answers.
OOC: Since these two are dealing w/ each other exclusively, you want to move them to their own thread, Prime? If so, feel free to start it w/ your next post.

Springer begins to stumble around, but he can see now. However, he does not correct his walk, or confused face when the sight returns.
At least, not until Needlenose is within a close enough range. Then he grins, turning his rifles on the Mayhem.
Then Bumblebee impacts, causing him to stagger forward, crouching down with a heavy groan. His guns stop firing, and for a moment, Springer is faced with the decision to get caught between the Bad Bee and Needlenose. Really, this is getting bothersome, this popularity thing. It's good that Springer is the target of their affections, but alas, the Wrecker doesn't do so well when trying to dance with two.
So with a quick springing jump backwards, he fires down at the pair, hopefully causing Needlenose to tackle Bumblebee instead, and then let Midnight tackle both of them.

"Blast it!" Needlenose hisses as he fires Zigzag after the springing Springer. Of course, this is at a distance, and Zigzag's lack of accuracy is probably already infamous.
Stopping to fire, however, may cost him. Is he about to be the bottom of a two-jet-and-one-car pile-up?
OOC: Permission to be hit in tackle granted, but please no posts that would require me to take massive amounts of damage in order to accommodate them, thanks.

Hellbender plows into Needlenose's back with a loud 'clang'; with luck, he's got enough momentum to bowl him over. Then he can proceed to some serious mayhem.
As his color vision finally flickers back on at the last instant, Midnight-3 realizes that the car attacking Springer is a Bumblebee; he seems to be in line with tons of jet-powered metal skidding across the ground on momentum....
--- Will Midnight-3 get his hands on Needlenose and start making a mess? Will they all pile into Bumblebee-3? Will Midnight-3 get to shred Bumblebee instead? How will the dashing Needlenose escape this one? Stay tuned for the next exciting episode!

OOC: Optimus is out of this thread and into "Frenzy isn't the only one who can hack on a jet."
Bumblebee manages to somehow tackle Springer, however his optics take a while to come online (damn battle masks and their lack of filters) and in that time, Springer is gone and is replaced with an evil Decepticon Targetmaster and one of his own Decepticons.
Bumblebee scrambles away from the battle as he fires upwards at Springer, launching his shoulder rockets as his right hand reforms back into a gun.
