Ridiculous? Of course not! Sandstorms are perfectly normal around these parts!
Skid-Z visibly winches for a moment when he sees the two bots dissappear into the mess.... he's sooo going to get his tailpipe bend for endangering a fellow Autobot, eh, Maximal.
And Long Range is still firing on the whirling column. If it was only Sky-Byte in there, he wouldn't be so concerned. But if these shots hit the plantlady.... A swift raise of his gun and Long Range is locked as a target, but the shot isn't coming. He can't shoot for as long Long Range is without vision. He´s just not a backstabber like that.
"Hey Decepticon, I´ve seen blind Sharkticons with better aiming than yours!" That should get anyone's attention, for better or worse...

Long Range still can't see, even after the lightning lets up. Something probably burnt out and It'll take his systems at least a few minutes to fix it. He also can't hear exactly where the insult being flung at him comes from, and instead of wildly thrashing about looking for a voice in what sounds like a sandstorm, he remains still, waiting for someone to either shoot him so he knows which way to fire back or for Sky-Byte to eat the Autobots.

Actually, Botanica is less likely to be irked with Skid-Z for creating the sandstorm, and more likely to berate him for not taking that shot at Long Range. If she has learned nothing while fighting for her own world, it is this: honor and morals are all well and good, but when your beliefs jeopardize your fellows, when your actions lead them to harm, it is time to reevaluate your position.
Sky-Byte thankfully does not get another free sample of technorganic goodness, but he does manage to smack into Botanica's back- though that could be as much the storm's fault as it was Ky-Byte's efforts. Botanica does have a slight advantage, though, even in the whirling sands.
She can tell which way is down.
Her vines grow and stretch, reaching down to try and anchor her, pull her back down to the ground. This will have the disadvantage of giving Sky-Byte even more green and flailing bits to snack on, but it can't be helped.

If Long Range is waiting for Sky-Byte to eat the Autobots, he might have to wait for a pretty bit. //Well, don't just stand there! Do something!// Also a note to Long Range: his commander is more than a little strained right now.
Sky-Byte flails a little as he feels himself make contact with the plantformer. Cursed green. He tries to make another grab with his mouth, but this time it's as if it somehow found a new way to dodge and the shark ends up snapping at grainy and hack-inducing air. If Sky-Byte could see in this blasted sandstorm, he'd realize Botanica's wily and ground-finding strategy. It's more him still moving than her actually dodging then, right? For now though, Sky-Byte realizes that he really needs to find more ways of hanging on to this slippery plant.
"Sky-Byte terrorize!"
His body arches and he can feel his transformation sequence start up--only to fizzle out with a series of alerts and warnings. Those warnings can bite him. All Sky-Byte wants right now is to grab properly! Furiously, he works through the alerts. There has to be something he can do. "Sky-Byte terrorize!" Again his body arches and bulges in an attempted transformation before settling back into its normal sharky shape. There are more warnings and alerts, but Sky-Byte can feel that he's gotten further in this attempt than before.
Watch out Botanica, stubborn shark is stubborn.

Sky-Byte's cry of transformation is enough to make Skid-Z nervous.... is Botanica down? Is she still functioning? He can't check either since now he's in the jamming zone as well.
Optics nervously switch between the sandstorm and Long Range, and Skid-Z can *feel* a pull starting on his form, though it should've been much stronger probably than before. It could very well be that the winds are starting to lose their force, but not enough to release its contents.
'Disobeying the book.... again' he sighs and aims for Long Range's torso. Hopefully he can bring Goliath down before the storm ends. Skid-Z fires four blasts in Long Range's direction.
------------------------------------- Storm will loose its force in two rounds....

Long Range feels the shots impact on his body, thankfully not doing much damage but aggravating him all the same. Attempting to turn to face the direction of the shots, Long Range's left leg stops responding and then his left arm goes as he reaches down.
The lightning must have done more lasting damage, no idea what give out next or the duration of the paralysis. //Sky-Byte, that lightning that hit me has paralyzed me. I have no idea if something else might give out or just simply explode, you better-*SKRZZZ*.// Is all Long Range manages to get out before his radio gives out, the strain of use aggravating the already done damage.

Her vines find purchase in the soil, and Botanica begins to shrink back to her "normal" height. She can't do so as rapidly as she'd like. It is a desert after all, and while the storm's force is lessening, she must still exercise both concentration and strength to keep her position.
"What ever is the matter, Predacon? It seems you can neither sink nor swim," she taunts as she drops below him in the twister. She actually wants the shark to get angrier and keep forcing his systems past the breaking point. Stubborn shark may be stubborn, but Botanica has not intention of being around if or when Sky-Byte manages to force his transform. Though it might be amusing to see what else on the shark breaks from the forcing.

Oh bugger.
Finally, Sky-Byte puts through a few words over broadband before he attempts a transformation one last time. Well, third time's the charm and the shark finds the world twisting and turning and the feeling of hands (well one hand) and feet return to him. Wait, sure he doesn't have two hands, but his Anchor Arm at least should be registering as being somewhat on his body---A quick grasp at his wrist informs him otherwise. Instead of feeling sharp bisected tail-fins, his fingers grasp around a thick cable. Slaggit! It popped and unwound on him!
Before Sky-Byte has time to verbally despair over this development, a rough "Hurk!" replaces his cry as something catches and his circling in the sand cloud comes to an abrupt (and slightly painful) stop. Looks like his Anchor Arm's acting to its title as it's now burrowed deep within the black desert floor. "Don't be so quick with your words, Autobot!" Sky-Byte lets loose a few laser blasts into the howling sand with a customary battle announcement before tugging himself in the general direction of 'back to his arm'. He stops every now and then to fire a few more shots into the sandstorm. Hopefully something will hit it.

Long Range locks down....
Skid-Z is sure he's not responsible, only having to ensure not to fire any lethal shots. Battle protocol switches to 'pacifying hostiles'
Aiming his gun once more, Skid-Z begins to blast at Long Range's right foot. "Take out all opposition" he whispers through clenched teeth.

Again, Long Range can do nothing to stop the impact of the shot, even though they only blow off some armor and black the leg a bit.
Thins are looking (har har) bad for Long Range. Someones shooting him, he has no idea where Sky Byte is and theres still that plant thing somewhere out there. First things first, he has to stop somebody shooting at him. Unfortunately the most he can do is make himself a smaller target. He does this the only way he knows how.
He falls over onto his back with a colossal crash, sending even more sand into the air.

Some of Sky-byte's random shots do hit, but they do little to hinder Botanica's descent. She can't allow them to hinder her. She is entirely too vulnerable to attacks in this form, plus, she has places to be.
She hits the ground, then continues beneath it. Surfacing just on the outside of the waning storm. She spots Skid-Z, spots the downed Long Range then dives again, coming up near the racecar.
"Well, at least that's one more our allies don't have to worry about. Well done." She does a quick inspection of her weeping wounds, wincing a bit. "I need to finish my journey toward the crater. Will you be all right?

It takes a while, but Sky-Byte finally makes contact with the ground once more. Everything seems so much bright now! A glance backwards reveals the ripping and roaring sandstorm now behind him--but it was getting a little too close for comfort again. A few tugs, and his Anchor Arm finally is unearthed from its secure hold in the desert floor. Sky-Byte quickly scrambles away to a safer distance and looks around.
Just where did that pesky Autobot go---"Long Range!"
From what Sky-Byte can see, the large Decepticon has fallen, complete with still drifting clouds of black dust. The Autobots can be forgotten for now. Sky-Byte has a loyal trooper to look to!

"Go on ahead" Skid-Z assures Botanica, nodding in the direction of the crater, "I'll follow when you're out of the reach..."
He watches as Sky-Byte leaves the storm, "... of these units".
There is no reason to continue this fight for Skid-Z unless someone's going to give him one. He lowers his gun and starts a cautious move away from the fallen Long Range.

Long Range has effectively reduced his own combat ability in this fight to somewhere just above that of various types of earth moss. Keeping in mind that before he fell over he had the combat ability of a heavily armored tree stump, Long Range isn't too particularly bothered. The worst that can happen is that Sky-Byte gets chased off and he has to deal with these Autobots trying to chop him into small, bite sized pieces.
Now if only his radio wasn't fried so he could tell Sky-Byte not to worry about him and continue chomping metal.

Botanica nods, "So long as the shark is distracted, I'll be out of reach." She smiles, "The way I travel anyway."
"Watch yourself," she adds, before diving back underground. Perhaps her movements are a bit stiffer than normal; she does hurt.
OOC: and Botanica is out of thread.
