What when written seems to take minutes, in reality only takes seconds, and though Perceptor does succeed in knocking Shockwave off his hostage, the gunformer does not stay down. Perceptor may be stronger than the average mech, but he is not strong enough to keep Shockwave pinned if he does not wish to be. For that matter, Shockwave does not even allow Perceptor the chance to pin him
As Shockwave is tackled, he turns his already-charged cannon in and fires point blank against and through his assailant’s torso. He uses the momentum of the blast, along with his own backwards momentum to toss Perceptor head over his head and off him. With luck, the force of the fall will damage the Autobot’s deadly light cannon. Shockwave rolls and transforms all in one motion quick enough to avoid having his weapon rendered useless by Optimus Prime but not so quick as to avoid the blow all together. There is a nice, long, shallow gash down the barrel of the floating gun when he aims for the slingshot device and fires.
If anyone happens to be in the way, well, that’s their problem.
OOC: Hitting and tossing about of Perceptor done with player permission. Also, mod approval given for transforming and firing on the slingshot device. That shot is not a targeted attack upon any player(s).

Long Haul, neither battle-hardened as Perceptor (shockingly) is, nor trained in combat the way Optimus Prime was, is not nearly so quick in reacting when things go topsy-turvey. He stares at the device in shock as it goes off, partially wondering if that's his mistake that's responsible, and when he turns back, he barely has time to register that he's staring down the barrel of a giant space-gun of doom before he can throw himself on the floor, just barely avoiding the blast the demolishes the slingshot device.
Still on the ground, he summons his pistol/welder from subspace, raises it, and fires after Shockwave. "Oi! Get outta here, now! We had enough of yer troublemaking!"

Perceptor registers that Boondocker is free, and then incredible pain. Pain enough that he is not even aware that he is now flying through the air, let alone aware enough to make any attempt to right himself. It is only by purest, sheerest chance that he does not land upon his newly rebuilt scope and shatter it. Even so, Shockwave has little reason to fear its use; Perceptor is in too much shock to allow for any retaliation.
Perceptor has been shot before, most recently by the alternate Pee-Dee - their Pee-Dee... he hopes that she is safe - in fact. He has, however, never before taken a point blank blast to his chest from Shockwave. Another few inches higher, or angled a little bit more perpendicularly, and the blast would have shattered his core. As it is, he will require a new mirror and mirror assembly before his alternate mode is fully operational again, and his motor control functions are unstable. So much the scientist, even now a part of his processor cannot cease analyzing the situation, coming to the conclusion that he lives because Shockwave had not wished to deactivate him. Despite being surprised, at that range, Shockwave is fully powerful enough to destroy far more than he had, and possesses not only the ability to hit more vital components, but the knowledge of where those components lie specifically within Perceptor's structure.
Oddly, that infuriates Perceptor.
He is in no condition to act upon that fury, though. The only truly cognizant part of him that is not overwhelmed by the pain and odd analysis is too busy worrying about Optimus and Long Haul - one is still injured (that he is now just as injured as Optimus - only without the benefit of partial repairs - has not even occurred to him) and the other is a target for abduction.
Omega Supreme had joined the battle, however, hadn't he? Perceptor distantly recalls having heard the thunder of giant thrusters. Had it been their Guardian? He must hope so. Omega can protect Long Haul and Optimus. Perceptor isn't good for much at the moment beyond lying in a curl, leaking significant quantities of vital fluids into the black dust, but his radio, at least, is still functional.
// Omega Su-supreme... protect... Long Haul... p-please... //
ooc: radio cross-posted to Allied BB. Perceptor is now skippable unless addressed.

Funny how people tend to ignore their own wounds when they are needed in battle, isn't it, Perceptor? One good gash deserves another, and Shockwave needs someone to focus on before Perceptor takes more damaged. Prime's axe extends and he brings it down on the space gun again with both hands, hopefully disrupting his accuracy or encouraging him to depart.
Optimus turns to Perceptor and Long Haul, mouthing the word, 'Go!' to them.

Shockwave jerks up, avoiding Optimus’ axe but not Long Haul’s shots. Those hit him in various places as he returns to robot mode, hovering above the group. Shockwave makes an attempt to grab Optimus’ axe and if successful, will toss it (and hopefully the wounded Prime attached to it) across the area and into the pile with Perceptor.
Shockwave’s objective has been accomplished, though not nearly so neatly as he would have preferred. There is still the matter of Long Haul to consider. Shockwave would very much like to capture the errant Constructicon; however, Long Haul would not be so easily subdued. And there is the Guardian and his protectiveness to consider. Shockwave had not missed the arrival of Omega, despite it being some distance away.
“Troublemaking? I assure you, Long Haul, that I can be much more troublesome than this if I wished to be. It is you lot which made this difficult, not I. Some individuals simply do not understand the concept of compromise, I am afraid,” he counters, while making a radio call to Starscream.

"Compromise! This is only a compromise innat all sides are pissed off!" Long Haul growls, though he doesn't flee like Optimus Prime suggests. Instead, he gets up and creeps over towards Perceptor (and, if he's there, Prime), trying to shield them. He is, after all, the only one uninjured in the room.
"An if we'd have just done what you wanted, that ain't compromise, neither. That's you just waltzing in here, threatenin' someone, and gettin' whatever you wanted for it, and us sayin' it's okay for you to do it. You can use all the fancy words you want, but you were the one standin' on Boondocker with that gun pointed at the poor guy. I may not understand no 'advanced concepts' like compromise, but I don't figure I need to understand much more than what I saw."

The axe is grabbed, but Optimus employs the tactic of 'letting go of it' to avoid getting tossed aside along with the axe. For now, Shockwave might think he is completely unarmed, and so Optimus continues to let him thing that.
"He's a Decepticon, Long Haul." Optimus says as he starts stepping away from the hovering threat. "It's what they do." Perhaps this is stellar cycles of propaganda rearing its head here, but the one Decepticon who he's encountered so far has done little to change what he's been told.
Except that they could fly.
As an idle thought, Optimus is going to have to ask someone who this "Optronix" is.

Shockwave's optic flickers. "Such righteous anger, and so quick to violence. You are not that much different after all, Long Haul. It is good to know."
Perhaps Perceptor did summon the Guardian, perhaps not. Regardless, Shockwave will act upon the advice he gave Starscream. All things in their own time, and now is not the time to press a slim and dwindling advantage.
"Decepticon. You say it as if it is some sort of slur. Look a little harder at those you follow, and you may find there are less differences than you think. But I suggest you tend to Perceptor," he says as he starts to float backwards and away from the group, "You have no more than two minutes before he will have lost enough vital fluids to lead to stasis lock and possible cascade failure."
Shockwave does not turn his back on the group until he is reasonably sure he is out of range. At which point he will be well out of thread, unless someone interferes with his leaving.
OOC: As said, trying to get out of thread.

"I'm quick to violence!" Long Haul exclaims indignantly. "He slagging shot at me first!1 An' different from what, that's what I wanna know!" However, Long Haul doesn't seem to be shouting at, or even addressing, the departing Shockwave. He is still builder first, rebuilder second, and warrior... the longing for that hasn't even come into the picture yet. So instead, he is tending towards Perceptor, only occasionally glancing up to make sure Shockwave is, indeed, leaving, and isn't going to fire again.
1 Technically speaking, Shockwave was firing at the device, not at Long Haul. However, since Long Haul had been, at that moment, between Shockwave and the device, it still qualifies as the same general direction.

Long Haul is getting distracted. "I'll watch out for him, Long Haul, just focus on the repairs." Optimus picks up his axe and stows it away again. He knows Long Haul isn't the most technically apt Autobot. Is Perceptor really as bad as Shockwave said? Or was it the truth? Is he just saying that to get Long Haul's nerves up and more likely to make a mistake? But in that case why didn't he just shoot him?
Optimus plays it safe. "You're going to be fine, Perceptor."
It doesn't look as if that Decepticon is coming back. Thank the All Spark.

With a thunder of multiple jet engines, Skyfire arrives. He hovers briefly, noting that Shockwave has fled, then lowers his legs to touch the sand, then transforms.
"Perceptor!" Skyfire looks at the gaping wound in the red Autobot, then glances at Optimus Prime and Long Haul. "Shockwave's work?" He shakes his head and without waiting for an answer, "How best can I help? Do you need my hands, or rapid transport?"
He thinks to add a radio message as well.

Having banked to follow Skyfire in an arc pattern, the Capra Walie appears on one of the rock ridges, peering down at the group.
//Ramulus up here// He radios over a shortwave before beginning to make his descent past the wall, fluids boiling in rage while he notices the onslaught done here.
Worry spikes as he comes even closer, and after a few nervous twitches of his nose, he states, "Speak if I can assist in any way"

From the air, a wobbling form closes in, and awkwardly lands, kicking up a good bit of sand, managing to land without distrubing Botanica too much. The plantformer has since passed out since Grimlock previously took off. Grimlock's shoulders slump, giving off a good bit of steam to release heat, fluids leaking from various wounds and gaps in the armor, and from the remnant of his right leg.
Grimlock probably isn't going anywhere, unless he flies off again, but given the low energy levels he's got, he'd probably be better off.
"Puh...Plant Lady pass out."

"Yuh, Shockwave," Long Haul answers Skyfire's question.
Long Haul may not be the most technically proficient one about, but he's no slouch, either. Provided that the object in question isn't, say, a transdimensional slingshot device beyond his comprehension.
He looks up as Optimus Prime stands watch over him and inclines his head, then doesn't glance up again with the new arrivals. "Yeah, yer right. He will be okay." Long Haul sets up his tool kit and starts to work right there, stabilizing Perceptor so that he can move the scientist to a proper table. "Once I get him so I can move 'im, getting some place not wrecked'll probably be best," he answers Skyfire's offer to help.
And then Grimlock drops off Botanica, and Grimlock's shoulders slump. "Now her," he points, "I doan' know what to do. 'Cept maybe stick her feet in the dirt and pour water on her." His concerned blue optic band stays on Botanica for a moment longer, then he shakes his head and gets back to the work he knows, repairing Perceptor.

"Sun-light," Perceptor croaks, Long Haul's work and Botanica's injuries spurring him to speak. "And rest. Water is...not necessary. Contact with G-- th-the planet. Burying is... also not necessary."
"Th-thank you, Long Haul. It is... good work."
He hurts and he feels very, very weak, but Long Haul has a sure touch, for all that it is not his specialty. Perceptor won't be walking back to the tunnels under his own power, but he'll certainly be around to appreciate Long Haul's bed again.
"Ev-everyone survive?"
ooc: back to skippable. Just keeping him, y'know, alive.
