It's possible that some internal mechanism of Swindle's just made a sound similar to a cash register bell, but he may just have imagined it. His desire to win over the Junkion female wars with his desire to have a golden crown studded with fist-sized diamonds. (Swindle's fist, mind you, not some inferior tiny human fist.) Eventually a compromise is reached.
"I meant energon credits, but what you've got there is perfectly acceptable. Say, one of the smaller rubies?"

"Sure!" Pee-Dee fishes out one of the small red stones and holds it out to Swindle.
It's so nice to get rid of useless things! Especially in trade for useful things.

"A pleasure doing business with you!" Swindle gushes, meaning every word. He takes the proffered gem and stows it in his storage compartment, reminded once again of why he likes trading with Junkions. It's so nice to get valuable things. Especially in trade for considerable less valuable things! "Is there anything else I can get for you?"

"Teevee deeveedees?" Pee-Dee asks hopefully. She tucks the datadisk away into an arm, though she doesn't plug it in just yet. She'll give it to Perceptor check over first.

"DVDs? What are-oh, I get it. No, everything's on Blu-Ray when I'm from." (Because he's from The Future!) Swindle opens his storage compartment once again and rummages around, talking as he does so. "I mostly deal in weapons, but I was planning on making a stopover on Junk after visiting Earth, so I picked up a few things. Not as much as I would have liked, but I got pulled into an alternate universe before I could properly restock." He finally comes up with what looks like a rolodex full of movies, all in their original packaging. "Let's see. . . I've got M*A*S*H, the complete series, Teen Titans (Season One), the Simpsons (Season Four), the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Citizen Kane, Apocalypse Now, Sense And Sensibility, Jurassic Park II, Jaws 3D, Mad Max: The Animated Series, Flash Gordon, Monty Python's Flying Circus (Season Two), and The Best of Looney Tunes. Anything interest you?"

"Blu-Ray? What's that?"
Pee-Dee ooooohs as Swindle presents his rolodex of movies, her optics brightening.

"Blu-Ray is like DVDs, only moreso," Swindle explains. "I can sell you a player for them if you need."

Pee-Dee gives Swindle a look as if he's just said something particularly vile about her mother.

Swindle raises one browridge. "Is something wrong? Would you prefer I adapt your DVD player?"

"Hentai!" Pee-Dee is totally misusing the word, but her tone ought to convey her general view on the subject. "I'm not a rookie!"

Swindle is confused. He's somewhat familiar with Junkion culture, the same way he's somewhat familiar with Vok, Quintesson, and Nebulan culture, the better to trade with them, but Pee-Dee is baffling him at this point. "You . . . you want to buy hentai? Not a. . . ooooh. Oh, I see." The merchant nods, as if he totally understands what's going on now. "I apologize. I meant no offense." When in doubt: say you're sorry and hope they still give you money.

"Good." Pee-Dee folds her arms, pleased Swindle has stopped insulting her by suggesting she can't manage her own viewing equipment. "I'm looney for Looney Tunes."1

"Looney Tunes, you say? I suppose I could part with it for one of those silver nuggets you have there. Make it gold and I'll throw in The Simpsons."

"Gold's part of my toolkit," Pee-Dee replies, pulling out one of the silver nuggets. Technically, everything she carries is part of her toolkit. Details. "What's up, Doc?"

Swindle gleefully accepts the silver nugget and hands over the Looney Tunes disc. "A pleasure doing business with you, ma'am. Really, I mean that." The key to making everyone happy in a business deal is for both parties to think they're getting the better of the other. But Swindle is a master at this. If Pee-Dee was a better negotiator, she might have gotten up to three discs for a silver nugget the size of a giant robot's fist.
