//Likes me? Well, yeah, we just chased off some scumbags that were starting trouble in their establishment. No reason to not like us.//
Clueless Wrecker is definitely clueless.
"Trade, huh..." Springer considers this for a moment. "Would being out for a walk near where they store some of their goods work, or would that fall too close to trespassing?"
Hey, if he makes good bait...

"Oh, what don't they trade in is a better question," Troi answers, sighing. "Drugs, weapons, services.. willing, and unwilling, along with those doing the serving." She shakes her head, then gives a weak smile. "Not to mention the racketeering."
"I think you're... interesting because of your paint job. You look rich," Troi explains to Emirate Xaaron, shrugging.
She rubs her chin at Springer's question. "They've got store houses all over the city, but the sidewalks are still public areas. The problem, though, is finding one of them."

//Hmm, but I'm your boss, and she definitely seems more interested in you. Usually, people try to play nice to the officer... oh. Maybe she likes you.//
Shut up, Emirate Xaaron may be a master manipulator, but he's not from a reality with women, and he's not used to dealing with aliens! Took him a while to grasp the concept, even if he's watched some teevee with Pee-Dee.
What Troi has outlined is more than enough reason for most Autobots to want to bring these Atrocitans to some semblance of justice. That is convenient, because it means it won't be hard to convince some of his troops to play along, especially if there's compensation.
The other thing that Emirate Xaaron wants to ask Springer to do is a much harder sell.
With a relatively clean finger, her rubs his other upper arm and asks, "Yeah? I keep getting that." He shrugs. "I just figured that gold never tarnishes or corrodes. Low maintenance." Yeah, and if you buy that, Emirate Xaaron has some property in Stanix he'd like to sell you. He knows gold looks regal, like divine light, even; he just wasn't expecting every two-but drug lord, slum lord, and gang leader to have co-opted the look.
He probably needs a Black Repaint, but he just can't be bothered to get it.
Emirate Xaaron notes wryly, "They seem to find me easily enough."
//But we can send some of the troops off for low key observation, if she names the right price.//

//...you already said she likes me, sir. I don't get the point of repeating it.// Yes, the enunciation is lost on Springer.
At Troi's comment about the warehouses though, Springer sighs a bit. "And so many similar looking warehouses around, I gather?"
Funny, from what Springer heard, Xaaron was all blinged out 'cause he's the Transformers' Space Pope, or something like that. Oh, wait. Truth bending.
(Yes, Emirate Xaaron is a Truthbender.)
//Sounds good to me.//

Troi studies Emirate Xaaron for a long moment as he claims that the gold is because it's 'low maintenance.' "Mmm-hmmmm," is all she answers to that. No, she won't be purchasing that Stanix territory, thanks.
"Well, anyway, you do stand out," she says when he points out that they seem to find him easily enough, "but finding you just anywhere won't do you much good."
She gives Springer a grim smile. "Actually, most of them don't look like warehouses at all. They tend to be designed to look like other things, whatever fits the districts they're in."

Emirate Xaaron's poker face remains immaculate as Troi studies him - pleasant, attentive, interested but not too interested, no twitches or tics.
"True enough. Collateral damage is a big issue here." It always was, on Cybertron. If his men blew up a Decepticon base, that was a piece of home they were destroying, a scar on the face of Primus himself. "So I suppose them finding me near... expendable structures would be preferable, hmm?" He smirks ever so slightly.
//You don't do very well with subtlety, do you? But then, I suppose you would have no reason to; it's hardly your fault. Mirage is going to kill me, but I do think he would perhaps be the best instructor for you in such areas.//

Springer makes a mildly amused face. "Wonderful - warehouses in disguise. Hopefully they should be easy enough to discern what we need with a little luck."
He turns to Xaaron, smirking. "Well, depending on who we take with us, expendable neighborhoods might be a good idea. Plus, starting stuff in here, they clearly have no qualms about wrecking others' property."
//Not particularly, I suppose. Never had any use for it, and never was that fond of it.//

Troi gives Springer a faint smirk. "Just a hint - illegal activity that's 'easy enough to discern' either doesn't last long or happens in areas where the law is well paid off." She sighs. "Really, we've got far too much of the latter going on, but they do still have competitors to watch out for. However, I have a few contacts that might be able to give me a good lead."
But what Springer says next causes Troi's eyes to widen. "Expendable... neighborhoods?" She starts to glance around, checking for the nearest bouncer, like she's perhaps looking for an escape route.
"You've got to understand, just because someone lives in an area ruled by a gang doesn't mean they're a part of it. The gangs are already making these peoples' lives hell - they don't deserve to have their homes destroyed on top of it, if it can be avoided."

Emirate Xaaron has to be very, very careful how he says this, because he doesn't want Springer to get the wrong idea. (However, it doesn't seems like Springer has any idea at all.) //Springer, you're a very handsome Autobot. You could use that to your advantage, as a weapon, even. If doesn't matter whether or not you like subtlety. I know that I'd use any edge I could get. If you can disarm an enemy with a dashing smile, that's another weapon in your arsenal.//
That's why Emirate Xaaron is thinking about putting in a call to Mirage. Mirage, too, is a rather handsome Autobot, although along different lines than Springer - Springer's much more rough and tumble, clearly built for strength, whereas Mirage is finer featured, more delicate - but Mirage knows what he's doing with his looks, on a very conscious level. Emirate Xaaron is manipulative, but he's not... conventionally attractive, by any means. Oh sure, if a Decepticon jailer was besotted with him or something, he'd bat his optics and do what it took to escape, but it's not something that really comes up often for him. Mirage's experience is a lot more current and applicable.
Emirate Xaaron covers his forehead with a hand and hisses, "Springer. Show the lady you have more RAM than a Dinobot, please."
Then, he smiles pleasantly, even apologetically, over at Troi, and excuses, "The boy's used to engagements wherein a certain level of collateral damage is acceptable. I'll make sure," Emirate Xaaron glares over at Springer, "he knows that collateral damage is unacceptable, in this case, and that everything has to be above the board."
He finishes, looking directly over at Springer, "Isn't that so?" Emirate Xaaron drums his fingers on the table.

Springer looks a bit dejected - it wouldn't be that easy, of course. Hopefully, there will be someone else doing the locating.
Xaaron's bit about him being 'handsome' perplexes him, though. //Uh...I'm not sure I follow, but I guess any new weapon is better than none at all.// Smile to disarm? Why do that when a gunshot works just as well?
However, he frowns at Xaaron for the dinobot comparison. "I'm just considering all possible outcomes, sir. I just feel it's better to plan for such an instance, because accidents can happen despite all attempts to prevent them."
He looks back at Xaaron, drumming his fingers as well. "Yes, that's so." Then he turns to Troi. "I do apologize, Troi - I didn't intend to come off like a trigger-happy buffoon."
Hrng.

Troi offers a smile to them both. "Well, I suppose in this place, I should be happy even if someone realizes these things after the fact."
"Now, can I get you gentlemen anything while we go over the details of the... proposal?"
OOC: If you guys don't mind, I'd like to fade out on the technical details so we can jump right to the scouting or beating up badguys or trapping or Springer's new coursework.

It is totally canon that Springer is 'well proportioned'. No, really. //Er, just don't think too hard about it right now.// Back to business, Emirate Xaaron is sure that some of the scouts and recon folks like Skid-Z and Firebolt could use the exercise! He snorts, "Oh, don't you 'sir' me. The best option would be to select personnel that make that outcome so unlikely that we don't have to waste time planning for it." Emirate Xaaron is not like Prowl, to calculate one thousand battle plans, just to find the seven that succeed. Emirate Xaaron will take a to-go box of 'Clue' for Springer, thanks. OOC: Hmm, yeah, how about end this and then start up a thread for scouts, and then once the scouts find something interesting, a thread on smacking bad guys?

Springer picks up his glass, looking at it. "I s'pose more of this would be good - I'm not too well-versed in recreational drinks." Springer just lets Perceptor mix up whatever and takes his word that it's good.
//Ah, alright.//
Springer smirks at Xaaron, shrugging one shoulder. "Then I hope they're up to snuff for what needs to be done, then."
OOC: Sounds good to me!
