Women. We need more of them. We could also use more 'cons. So I shall spotlight some female 'cons!
ClioMarvel G1
tfwiki.net/wiki/ClioClio is both a cipher and a joke. She only ever existed in the letters page. That said, she has some interesting potential. For one thing, she is a Powermaster. We don't have any Powermasters in the game. Their big deal is that their Powermaster partner can go binge eat at a buffet and thereby power them. They don't need energon. Given the consistent problems with not being able to have enough energon in this game, a Powermaster would fit quite well. Also, having a little dude lets you basically have two characters in one! Except this little dude is actually a woman - Clio's Powermaster partner is the Nebulan ophiologist Patra. So if the 'cons ever have any snake issues, Patra has it covered. The 1990 Renault Clio was a French car at the time, so you could give Clio a French accent if you wanted! It's also a supermini car, so we can guess she is probably a Minobot. However, the most interesting thing about Clio is that she's female at all. Arcee is generally considered to be the only female Transformer in Marvel G1. Arcee's first issue had her shaming Shockwave, who was a serious badass. So was Clio built by the Decepticons to try to counter the Autobots' mysterious new female technology? Was Clio a male Decepticon, who upon being introduced to the idea of gender by his Powermaster partner, decided that he better self-identified as a woman? We don't know! Much like her whole personality, skillset, and abilities, why she's female would be up to any applicant to decide. Clio's a blank canvas waiting for an awesome RPer to paint her.
LyzackVictory
tfwiki.net/wiki/LyzackLyzack is from an anime/manga, so many people in the West don't know much about her. She is Leozack's sister, so she probably transforms similarly to him and has similar stats, lacking any better idea. This means she is probably a Grumman F-14 Tomcat jet fighter, which is just frankly awesome is you have ever seen
Top Gun. She could even potentially be a Breastforce member like her brother, in which case, she might have a little animal partner (Lionessbreast?) who turns into a lioness, a gun, and chestplate armour, which is a cool gimmick we don't have in the game yet. It is even possible that Lyzack, like her brother, is a combiner piece, which would be really super-cool. We need more combiner pieces! The downside of Lyzack is that she has apparently spent her whole life hiding in the Giant Fortress Base and guarding the Destron fresh-paints who are too young for combat and that she seems pretty weepy. The thing is, I think a good RPer could take her in some interesting directions. So she got stuck protecting the fresh-paints - maybe she has a strong protective streak, like RotF Demolishor, and she tends to take the smaller and weaker Decepticons under her wing and then unleashes a savage can of whoopassery on anyone who dares to assault her charges. Maybe she could hang out with Misfire and start the Reject Flier Club. Maybe she could see some of the stronger, more assertive, and more vicious Decepticons from other realities and decide she wants to be like that and embark on a character development arc. Maybe she could find a quasi-civilian but useful role like Rook. Like any character that was screwed over by canon, in RP, Lyzack has potential to be a whole lot more than she was, depending on where the player wants to take her. Anyway, because she spent the whole series of Victory hiding away, you wouldn't need to be too hugely familiar with Victory to play her, which is a plus.
Crasher/FractureMultiple possible continuities: IDW G1, Bayverse
tfwiki.net/wiki/Crasher_%28G1%29tfwiki.net/wiki/Fracture_%28Movie%29Crasher is based off a GoBots character. Before you say that's uncool and storm out of the room, GoBots Crasher's portrayal was apparently very progressive compared to the portrayal of female Transformers at the same time - she was an unashamed bad guy who was just as dangerous as the males and who wasn't drawn hugely girly. (
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crasher#Gobots ) So really? A Transformers character based off GoBots Crasher is probably a step in the right direction! So in Transformers, we have two flavours of Crasher. One is in IDW G1. She was a gladiator there, which was illegal and hardcore in that continuity. One wonders why she's female in IDW G1, since they too have a nonsensical problem with women, but the thing is, Crasher is crazy. Really crazy. So it is possible that, like Arcee, she is one of Jhiaxus's experiments, and that because Crasher is crazy, none of the Decepticons, when she signed on, ever noticed that she's female, because they were too busy being distracted by the crazy and the brutal violence. (If Motormaster was a woman, would you notice that fact as she tore off your arm and beat you to death with it? You'd probably be more preoccupied with the fact you are dying horribly.) The other flavour of Crasher is Fracture, from Bayverse. She is also crazy, but in Bayverse, women just are, so you don't need any weird explanation for her gender. Ironhide killed her, so you could pull her from just before her death, and if we ever get an Ironhide, she could have a grudge against him. Also, she looks like an evil Mirage, which is great. One thing about Crasher/Fracture is, though, we would not roll with the idea that she is a dimension-travelling GoBot (
tfwiki.net/wiki/Fracture_%28Movie%29#Notes ). That idea is apocryphal at best, and we'd like to keep our Transformers game to Transformers, eh? So she'd just be a normal Transformer made in the normal Transformery way.
HowlbackSome version of G1. Probably cartoon. Maybe Dreamwave.
tfwiki.net/wiki/HowlbackShe's like Ravage, only instead of spying on Autobots and being invisible, she spies on other Decepticons and has a forcefield. I think that's sufficiently awesome on its own.
ScyllaBeast Wars II
tfwiki.net/wiki/ScyllaScylla is a pirate, and she turns into a tentacle monster. Also, she's a combiner piece. This is awesome. Be the kraken.
StrikaBM or Ani
tfwiki.net/wiki/Strika_%28BM%29tfwiki.net/wiki/Strika_%28Animated%29Personally, I'd prefer to see a BM Strika. I think she's a more interesting character, because she has the background that she may have, possibly, been a good guy at some point? Who chose of her own free will to become evil? And that she serves the overall goals of Cybertron first and a cause second. How would she react without a Cybertron? Also, Strika and Lugnut could glare at each other for not being the right consort. Also, she could antagonise Cheetor and Botanica. Fun times. However, Ani Strika is pretty cool, too.
Offshoot Cybertron
tfwiki.net/wiki/Offshoot_%28Cybertron%29Technically, she's a Mini-Con. However, she's a Decepticon-aligned Mini-Con, and she could probably pass herself off as a Micromaster to avoid being used as an energy drink for bulks. Anyway, Offshoot has an interesting background in that she adored Override for legalising racing for females... but kept oilsport racing, Offshoot's profession, illegal. So Offshoot became bitter and joined the Decepticons. We have an Override to be bitter at! We have another oilsport racer, Swerve, to antagonise on the battlefield! Also, if you read Linkage (and you should, it is translated for free online and is a pretty good read), it explains a whole lot about the Mini-Cons and notes that they were all freed and are able to speak normally now at the end. So Offshoot could speak normally if you wanted her to (or she could just cuss all the time and have all her dialogue bleeped out
) and she wouldn't be enslaved by a bulk if she did decide to give him a power boost. She'd have free will about the matter. This is handy.
SunburnArmada
tfwiki.net/wiki/SunburnAlso a pirate. Not quite as cool as Scylla, since she's not a kraken, but pirates are still pretty cool.
I could do more, but I think I am good for now!
