An engineer? Shockwave tilts his head and studies Spinster for a long moment.
"You have repair skills which you have been hiding," he say evenly, no accusation in his tone. "I would not have wasted you in the medbay, Spinster."
Shockwave nods at the badge, "Certainly it will be trouble, but even a conditional advantage is an advantage. I am not opposed to your choice. However, you are not explaining how you came about such a thing- or where and from whom you received the treatment that has kept you functional."
"How long are you estimated to be wheelchair bound? I have certain plans in queue where your and Needlenose's participation would be helpful."

Spinister pulls out a small infra-red tripwire and holds the two pieces in one hand. Set up the emitter on one side and the detector on the other - if the beam is broken, the tripwire sets off an alarm. It's a simple enough thing, but if Shockwave takes it and examines it, he'll find that while the technology's distinctly Decepticon, nothing one would find on Pz-Zazz, there's not a Decepticon, Predacon, or Vehicon on board this ship who has that particular style of how the internals are set up in the tripwire, how the wires are crimped, how the design is arranged - it's not bad work, and it's not mad work, but it definitely looks self-taught. It's what would happen if a reasonably intelligent Decepticon went on a binge of reading material on sensors and kept messing around for millennia until he got it.
Perhaps the only place Shockwave will have seen anything of that style is in the ever slightly-inaccurate schematics on file for Spinister, which will soon need to be replaced with different slightly-inaccurate but much prettier schematics, given the overhaul Needlenose gave him.
"I'm wasted anyway," Spinister cannot help but answer, his morbid streak showing.
Then, he looks back to the badge and explains, "One Agent Lan. I am unsure of his motives. He warned me about the case. He dumped me into a slaughterhouse and a serial killer's workshop. He attempted to have Kup silenced. He offered to get me out of the city and to safety." Spinister shrugs, aching dully through the numbness. "None it adds up, my lord."
"One Innana assisted my recovery. I first met her after a tac team had gone through her safehouse and killed the host of her Nerada associate, Mort. Innana is very hardy. I do not advise torso shots. She was willing to help because she appears to be associated with Mother Theron's church, as was K'ire, the singer I rescued. I am not sure why a live Nerada is involved in remediation of damage done by the synthetic drug."
Spinister had a headache again and a twitch in his fingers. There are too many loose ends. One would be too many. More loose ends than he can count is insufferable.
"A few weeks at best, a few months at worst. If you need me, there are some temporary measures I can take to get my motor control back in shape for a few hours at a time - but they are temporary and I would prefer not to over-use them. But. Just say the words, and I will, my lord."

"Hrm."
Shockwave does find the style familiar, but chooses to say nothing at the moment.
"I prefer to have you well. There is nothing pressing at the moment. You may, of course, do whatever research you wish on your various loose ends- though I would appreciate your keeping me appraised of your findings."
Shockwave sits back in his chair.
"However, what are those temporary measures?"

Shockwave continues to be creepy by doing the right thing for what Spinister can only assume is the wrong reason. It's weak of him to want it, but maybe Needlenose will hold him when he's done here.
"If I find anything you need to know, you'll know it," Spinister vows.
Then, he shrugs and explains, "Just a stimulant and painkiller cocktail to get my reaction times back in order and let me ignore what's wrong with me, my lord."

Shockwave continues to frighten Spinister by being nice. Perhaps the Mayhem can understand how Shockwave managed to logic an entire planet into submission.
"Such things are harsh on the system," Shockwave says, then shakes his head, "No, you should heal at a natural pace. Take whatever time and resources you need."
"Were you provided a copy of your medical files by that doctor*? If so, I would like to review them."
*yes he was. Also, looks like we are moving toward wrap?

Spinister has never found Shockwave leading a planet hard to understand. He nods mutely in response to Shockwave's decree about his healing, and he tenders up a copy of the requested information.
OOC: Yes!
